Same reason shaq probably didn't - probably his agent hoping dr's dont see it and you can get through the draft process and maximize your value up front. Having a post season surgery probably pushes him down boards as team's wont be certain they can be as much of a year 1 contributor. Yeah - i still think he makes it in the first. The last 2 major injury guys to fall like that were jaylon smith and myles jack that one year (both had more major injuries)- and both turned into solid pros. Neither is a primary pass rusher though - which tends to provide more value.

I think one of the strengths in NE is that while white is the primary pass catcher - they prefer do-all backs. White became more of a bell cow in 2018, but in 2017 he was right in the mix with lewis and burkhead. All can block and catch so it lets you kind of play a hot hand, helps with injuries, and you have more fresh legs on the field.

Why the Bills can never be 1st Class in the NFL

I've played on it and it is a little spongier than i thought it should be. The field house turf was worse honestly. -
Time to cut ties with Dimarco
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has a 50k workout bonus - nothing else is guaranteed so why wouldn't you bring him to camp. I doubt he sticks though. -
You would just deactivate one on a gameday - or you could dump dimarco. He was in on 15% of offensive snaps... not exactly a huge loss. Seems to be something they got away from as the year went on.

NFL Throwback: Top 10 Draft Classes of All Time
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah - after a while it may be higher. 83 has what 8 hall of famers? Thats probably still the top dog. -
I feel like someones trading up for a QB or taking a QB in the top 10 that isn't the Giants. Washington, Denver, Cincinnati, and Miami seem likely candidates. If only murray goes in the top 8 - which would be bad for the prospects of a blue chip guy falling to us, we'd likely get the opportunity for someone to jump denver (Wash, Miami, NYG, Cinn, Oak) . Or move back 1 pick and snag some extra's just so that elway can get the QB he wants. I'd be happy in either scenario.

Depends on the team construction i think - if you have premier players all over the roster it may make sense to go need to get a player that plugs in and starts but might never be a pro bowler. We are not that team - if you consider Allen, White, Milano/Edmunds and the safeties elite - or at least future elite... That leaves nothing for the trenches, and no playmakers on offense. With this particular draft very strong at the top with D-line talent, and a blue chip TE - those would be my choices. We don't have desperate needs for either, but one likely sits as the BPA at the time of our pick.

Thanksgiving Game Traditions: Buffalo Edition
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gimme Rooties all day -
Allen has to figure out the easy throws - and just generally get better about taking what teams give him. His pocket awareness improved a lot as the season went along, and he seemed to be making more good throws. He just needs to get those easy throws to shady/zay out with better timing and to the right spot. Darnold showed some improvement in similar areas, but it was less drastic. Allen was getting killed back there before the injury and was much better after. Darnold was better from the start in the pocket so the improvement won't be as huge. He had some nice games and some not so nice - but i thought he looked the part against Buffalo and he only had 170 1/1. Both should anticipate having pretty big years this year.
-
It's tricky though, Green's 30 - has been banged up in 2 of 3 years and in the healthy year he didn't exactly blow the roof off of the league. He's also fairly streaky - has big games and stinkers. If I'm GM, I'd probably stick with him. The offense is sooo much better with him in there. They need help on defense more than anything else. Passing league and passing teams just absolutely carved them up.

Had a better YPC than fournette and hyde with jax. Cheap - nothing guaranteed... im good with it. -
Between this and all the o-linemen that Beane signed - we would have a complete offensive overhaul YoY. Between Metcalf, brown, foster - you have an insane amount of speed and even a size/speed combination that is really hard to matchup with. Assuming this was the pick we would be lining up WR1- Metcalf WR2- Brown/Foster WR3- Cole This would have zay as the WR5 - and probably trade bait at that point. Roberts sticks as a return man making mckenzie expendable. People seem interested in that duke williams character as well. If he has a good camp he makes zay even more expendable. At the same time - WRs are always hurt. TE- Kroft and a draft pick - Not sure where Fisher fits in here RB1- Shady RB2- Gore/Rookie LT- Dawkins LG- Spain C-Morse RG-Feliciano RT-Nsekhe With Long, Teller, Waddle as the likely 3 backups unless we draft someone early QB - Allen What are we returning... Dawkins, Allen, Shady, Foster, and Zay? Foster and zay now have to battle even to secure spots on the team - and the oline battle between those guys should be pretty interesting. Long seems likely to stick as a backup C and swing guard, and Waddle seems like a better option than the other 2 guys. Teller probably isn't active on gamedays unless he can win a job.

The Athletic's 7 Round Mock
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean... He was a rookie backup behind a future wall of famer -
Yeah I tend to agree - if you end up looking at the top 3: Kelce, Ertz, Kittle - Those are legit top 15 guys in catches and yards, and are big red zone targets. All of them are capable blockers too. If Hock's a great blocker and athletic enough to get to that level - it makes him a top 10 in the draft player. His combine numbers don't show some of his elite abilities in getting open and blocking either.
