  1. Good point - the likelihood of injury for all non-punters is like 1000% higher. And QBs get hurt pretty frequently too. Blocking in the back is like... so common its stunning. If we literally did nothing except fair catch everything, we'd probably have a better punt return unit than we have had over the last few years.
  2. I would think you could use any mostly dedicated teams player/returner. Logan thomas already helped execute a fake punt - he's athletic enough to run around and buy time, and has a good arm. I guess it would take away some reps though?
  3. Shady has to chip or block most of the game because our line is so bad. I think he'll still be a useful 3rd down back in 2019 but thats just me. I do think we need to address the position a bit though.
  4. I know a &I'm was all about the 12th man, and wouldn't let anyone use it in games or on merch. But u can't stop a player from saying it
  5. They did a great job bottling up kamara and just... crushing him consistently when he cut up field. I was honestly concerned he wouldnt make it out of that game. They stopped the run really well, put them in tough down and distances all game. They also did a great job just sticking to their receivers in man, and not letting kamara and ingram hurt them in the passing game.
  6. It's tricky - Most teams don't want foster, yet he was claimed by the redskins. I understand that there's a redemption and rehabilitation factor that you cannot discount, however at the same time it's an incredibly public job and public perception can cost you as an owner/league money. Him being in the league does not make the league more money - however i do think his bad publicity could cost them money.
  7. Gase and Tannehill are just so... blah. Even when they were doing well i still think they stink. They just always look so beatable.
  8. Depends on draft too. If we get a blue Chip left tackle I could see shifting Dawkins to guard or right tackle
  9. I think it was - the one guys injured, lets bring back the other guy from camp. Honestly seems entirely logical. No bonus money so its literally just swapping out game checks.
  10. maybe that return was like... entirely schmidts fault? Not enough hangtime or somethin.
  11. Could be a one week type of move? Maybe he's a really good punter in miami? Who knows...?
  12. Like it takes a QB time to adjust - time that is spent in practice/preseason/on the field. Their QB is just thrown in there. His body clock won't be fast enough, and the receivers are going to struggle to get open for him to find in that window. NFL d-lines are used to having to adjust to hard counts, silent counts, and other ways to slow down a pass rush. All its going to take are a few run stops to get them in 3rd and longs and those are dangerous for a rookie QB who has played preseason/regular NFL time - let alone a green rookie who's never faced an NFL defense. As for buffalo's offense, they've had some stinkers - baltimore and GB come to mind. But they've also scored points against some really tough defenses in minn/jax - both of whom have a better defense than bama.
  13. Then i would assume that is out imo. 1.5 billion in this area is absurd. Who's payin for it? Anything downtown is going to need to remove the skyway too. Conway park area would make a lot of sense since there's a lot of empty buildings and space, but where do the cars go? Even ripping out the perry projects/towers wouldn't create enough parking, and you have to find places to put displaced residents. It's also going to be like useless to have massive parking lots there 90% of the time. Not to mention - How do you get in and out? Logistical nightmare - you either have to build foot bridges from like riverworks ($$$ these would need to be tall enough for boats to still get through) - how do you get to route 5/190/33 from there? How are you directing traffic?
  14. PSL's are not going to fly here - so renovations might be the best option. You could charge a 1 time fee to all season ticket holders and a higher fee for new ticket buyers. Even a hundred bucks a seat (which is much lower than it would likely be) would get you more than 5 million dollars, and then at least you're taxing the people who actually use the stadium. Non-renovations will cost at least half a billion - maybe more? I don't think we'd be going minnesota/LA/SF state of the art. Look more at something like Arizona's dome, or Ford Field. They're able to do college bowl games, as well as NCAA final four. Maybe throw in a large concert tour, or a big 4 WWE event like Royal Rumble. We're not spending a billion, and we're not getting a super bowl so its going to be hard to scrounge up that much taxpayer cash.
  15. I think the tricky part will be just generally the speed of the game. It's going to be really hard for Bama to pass the ball, between playing a d-line that is probably better than anyone they'll play all year - a secondary with multiple NFL pro bowlers covering their receivers - and a ton of speed at linebacker. Turnovers would spin the game to a blowout, so Bama would want to try and get grindy, and i think that honestly favors buffalo. 28.5 is quite the spread, but i don't think Bama is likely to win the game.
  16. Is cap room in 2019 an issue? And disagree with the Fournette statement. His YPA is under 4 for his young career and has been largely terrible this year. We had poor gap integrity on a bunch of runs in that game. Agreed - I'm not sure we'll be counting on him like we used to, but the guy can block, catch, and is still tough to tackle 1x1. Why would u release that guy when you legit already have 90 million in cap available? His cap hit is high, but we haven't drafted his replacement yet and typically you want to see how those players fit before you move on.
  17. No - It's a bit hard to evaluate the player when the guys up front have been so bad all year. I personally don't think he can be a bell-cow ever again, but he can block better than like 90% of backs, he can catch, and he's a nightmare 1x1 on the outside. That type of player is incredibly useful in the NFL today. Why cut him? Are we starved for cap room?
  18. I like allen, and i still say this year. Petermans gone - anderson will be gone - barkleys a free agent and shouldn't be handed a job at this point in his career. Bring in someone in a later round, we have 10 picks.
  19. I expect a game plan very similar to last weeks. Lots of motion to get linebackers moving side to side and to jump-start the running game. Occasional deep shots if they cheat up to stop the run. The keys going to be getting those first downs on 3rd and mediums. Protect the rock at all costs. On defense i don't think we want to get burned by Bortles legs again. Condense the field and contain Fournette - force Bortles to find spots within the zones, maybe mix in some man coverage if the pass rush is causing problems. Play fast and physical, and win the field position battle. Need a couple takeaways to shorten the field. I don't care win or lose or what that clown Ramsay says - I just want Allen to not be tentative and to let it rip.
  20. If no one major falls - then no one will want to trade up. BPA makes sense at that point since we aren't exactly loaded with blue chip talent.
  21. Rules tend to favor the offense at the moment - defenses will figure it out. Tyreke hill is a rare dude in that he has tremendous speed, and is an impossible mismatch. He might be the best offensive weapon in the NFL, and has caused absolute havoc for defenses. Throw in Kelce who is a size/athletic mismatch, and Hill who is a pretty solid dynamic back. Watkins foot injury seems to be popping up right around the time it always pops up though... This might be the thing that maybe holds them back from getting out of the AFC. The Rams have the best O-line in football at the moment, the best running back in the NFL, and a ton of weapons. Having the best offensive coach in the game only makes this that much more apparent. If they can get their defense to get more stops they should be the best in the league. This was just a game of two incredibly loaded offenses with some of the best in the game. Kinda neat but i don't know that there is a trend of receivers running like sub 4.2 40's and creating incredible mismatches.
  22. John Brown, or williams from LAC are probably the ideal ones to sign imo. Adam Humphries could be interesting here. Crowder and Enunwa always seem hurt, but they also look good when on the field. Mckenzie i do like as a gadget type player, and foster is barely above practice squad level as a player. Thompsons 29 and on his third stint here. He's a guy to help you during the season but won't get much of a contract offer, and won't ever be much of anything. There will be cap casualties - and we have the cap to absorb bad deals and still get teams a pick.
  23. Boyd's signed through 2019 for cheap. Perfect #2 for a big #1 in green.
