  1. Looking like a WR rich draft next year - and its a position of need... so i would think the 1st is off the table entirely.
  2. I guess? I think a lot of it has to do with forcing the defense to make on the fly adjustments. They line up I or offset and see what they get, if they don't like it then motion. I know you can do the same thing with the TEs but we may prefer running out of I or offset I in those situations. Could also be something we saw on greggo's film that makes the checks really easy and obvious to read.
  3. Depending on how the D lines up though, you're looking at likely getting a hat on mosely in the hole vs. him free running into the gaps if there is no lead blocker. Difference of a few yards on a running play most likely - especially with gore.
  4. The idea is you line up with dimarco in the backfield with gore - if they give you a look you like you can just snap it. If they stack the box, or stack their line inside, you just spread it out and identify the matchup. Sweeney is not lining up in the backfield as a FB, so its a different look that you'll get.
  5. Yeah - i thought i had strep and they told me mono... no treatment other than like tylenol and fluids. I assume he's got like a nurse at his house giving him IVs and stuff to try and get him ready as soon as possible. It's tough though, even as a QB he certainly has to be able to exercise.
  6. I guess...? Sub 60% career comp% and didn't play a game last year. Not to mention... It's become clear through 1 week that they have to be able to attack down the field or their offense gets stuck in the mud.
  7. Worst part of mono for me was how food just tasted like crap. I couldnt imagine lifting and exercising daily at the beginning though.
  8. I agree with this sentiment. He's sort of like Josh Reed. He'll make some plays here and there, but its seeming more and more like he'll never be THE guy. Had issues with drops, and just doesn't seem like he's jumping off the page as this always open dude. It's nice to see his blocking has improved though. I don't really know what I'm expecting from the 37th pick anymore tbh. The jets are cutting 3rd rounders and we're giving meaningful playing time to 7th rounders and UDFAs. Total crap shoot at this point. However - he's a starter at a position that has a notoriously steep learning curve. Do i wish we had drafted JuJu? Yes. I'm also not going to lose sleep over it, teams miss on stuff like this all the time.
  9. I miss ESPN for college football and MNF - but i do have my friend logged in on my xbox. I end up playing football on saturdays half of the fall anyway so i watch games at the bar.
  10. Yeah - they did them no favors there. 2 pats games, 2 nfc games, a PO'd browns team. Who knows with jax and their new QB but i imagine their defense will know how to stop an adam gase offense.
  11. Still a lot more talent on the jets O than the fins. Bell, Crowder, Anderson, they just added Thomas too. Certainly not ideal though to lose a young guy like enunwa who you just locked up. They even still have talent on defense. 2 solid safeties, a stout defensive line.
  12. If we both finish 9-7 its the primary tiebreaker. That's why it falls under a special importance. If we're both 9-7/10-6 and we beat the ravens and steelers but lose to them it doesn't matter unless a 3rd team is in there.
  13. They're built a lot like Buffalo honestly. Play 2 of their 3 last games against houston. Could be for the division there. They draw a fair amount of high powered offenses this year... They also have the AFC west - which would be great except the home games are LAC and KC. So they travel west to play Oak and Den... It's a rough schedule. I see them finishing like 9-7 and losing tiebreakers. We NEED to win that game against tennessee... the stretch of ravens/steelers/patriots is going to be tough to grab a win. I think its do-able but thats 3 veteran head coaches who have made their careers on shutting down young QBs. I'm not all in on the lamar jackson train quite yet, just because it seemed like he had hours to throw in that miami game - but they were in the playoffs last year so clearly they're talented. Key is NOT turning it over at all, let alone 4 times.
  14. I know early we were thinking trade down, but when oliver fell to 9 it became clear we were on the phone with him immediately.
  15. Defense is McD's thing - and honestly a good defense is still really important. Doubtful that Frazier would leave anytime soon - he won't get sniffed for a HC in this era of young offensive guys. He also seems to work well with McDermott honestly.
  16. This is why coachspeak exists... People hate that mcdermott doesn't really say much of anything about his players, neither does Belichick. Right after the game? I dunno, need to see film. After i see the film? On to the ______, lets talk about them. And when i do, i will have nothing but compliments for that team. Then you have McVay talking about a called back penalty from a preseason game in 2017 when this guy threw a pass. Or ya know... coaching your players? Not ripping them apart in a press conference. This is why i hate when coaches call plays. Separates you from the coaching too much - Gase is probably only talking to other coaches and the QBs for the entire game. If he didn't like Andersons route, he should be telling him right away - and COACHING him. Not just telling him he sucks.
  17. I knew he had a quick first step and was definitely a high motor type of guy, but he plays with a bit of an edge too. Once he's free he's like shot out of a cannon rushing the QB.
  18. Just thinking the same thing - although ross had a fantastic game against us in the preseason a couple years ago. This is a game that our offense needs to play well, and our d-line needs to feast on a poor offensive line.
  19. We did sign him before we drafted either of the kids. Based on the pay i assume he was brought in to start - but after drafting and liking both knox and sweeney he may not stick beyond a year. We did a good job in FA filling a ton of holes so we could add players we liked at whatever position in the draft. 2 TE's plus signing Smith post draft... leads me to believe that kroft is not likely expected to stick. Cap hit is only 1.6 mil if we released him next year (assuming healthy). We would have to cut him like right when the year started though because of base salary and roster bonus guarantee's that trigger on 3/22/2020.
  20. You should blitz young QBs honestly - allen/jackson/murray are always going to be tough to blitz because of their athleticism. If they escape pressure you have less coverage down field and they have more space to run.
  21. He had like 5 telegraphed passes that got batted down too. So he was either holding it, or throwing it to his first read.
  22. From a fantasy perspective - 4 turnovers is not good. From an actual football perspective - a lot of it was out of his control, he looked generally more accurate than last year, and more poised. Balls were getting out faster, his scrambling created some plays with his arm in addition to his legs. All in all i saw development.
  23. Wouldnt be surprised if theyre asking him to massively scale back any type of social media presence.
  24. not sure - they just kept running him towards the sidelines... the oline never got far enough out to create any type of zone to cut back into.
  25. The steelers also didn't look every good on either side of the ball. JuJu clearly missed having an all-pro opposite him, and they couldn't run the ball at all. Big Ben looked rusty too - guess it happens when you sit your guys all preseason.
