Jared Goff threw for almost 4700 yards 32 TDs last year. He improved drastically from years 1-2-3 etc. Against the strong bears defense he was 20-44 for 180 with 4 picks and 3 sacks. In the super bowl against NE he was 19-38 for 229 a pick and 4 sacks. Good defenses will force young QBs into mistakes. The patriots have a good defense this year - they're fast at LB, have a solid pass rush, and a good secondary. And a HOF coach who leads that defense.

Clements' 2001 Brady and 2019 Josh Allen Hit

All that stuff goes out the window in the 2nd half of a tight game on 3rd and 10. You see where you need to get and you think you can just... will yourself there. Maybe this will change that mentality, but its just football man... He needs to find the timing and accuracy on his deep ball. It opens up backshoulder plays in man coverage... forces them to play more zone etc. -
Schedule/playoff format suggestion:

What about 7 playoff teams? Only one team gets a bye so it keeps competition going through week 17 and you add an extra wildcard team, and an extra 2 playoff games. -
Easiest way to leave stadium

And spirit air - for those who don't carry-on (they dont have any), check bags (its really expensive), or like leg room (very uncomfortable seats).... But on the plus side it can be drastically cheaper -
Diggs Available?

He had 100 catches and 1000 yards last year with 9 TDs. I agree Thielen is better... but he's not a chump. While not a big dude he can make contested catches, has good hands, pretty quick. I think he's miscast in the minnesota offense TBH. He'd probably be a weapon from the slot too - if the team he played for felt so inclined to line him up there more. However - if the right players are injured or a playoff team needs him. Cooper looked LOST last year with Oakland, and still got moved for a 1st. I just look at it like - the only people acquiring a WR mid-season are playoff contenders, and the vikings fancy themselves a playoff contender. Why would you help them now? Just trade him in the offseason if you want to trade him - even if the value is worse. Or cut him in the offseason to save some cap. -
I hope we throw a bit of read-option and RPOs at them. Simple reads, and if you practice the timing during practice you should be able to hit zay or cole for solid gains. Read-option out of shotgun also slows the defense down a bit - throw in some mckenzie motion and its just a lot for a defense to handle.

Jerry Hughes versus who for the Patriots?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like a james white/edelman kind of game. Means hands up for deflections on the defense. The only issue with a NE offense like that is like, any incompletions or holding calls, or false starts... they all basically derail the entire drive. -
This guy won his last game - the 10 in front of him haven't played one in like 5+ years. I honestly think he forgot about him so he wrote something negative. I think backup QBs have a few different roles. There's the clipboard/coaching piece, the spot game where you didn't prepare, and extended stretches. I like Barkley for the first 2 - the 3rd one would likely be ok at first and tail off as teams game planned for him.

What can be expected against New England?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This and a ton of pre-snap motion. You can beat press coverage with bunch packages, rub routes, screens etc. If they have lots of guys close to the LOS, I expect Mckenzie/Roberts/Beasley running around right before the snap so you can't body them at the line. -

Its tough - but when you get single high looks you're going to have to throw them. Hopefully foster and brown got their legs ready - browns going to see a lot of gilmore and a lot of that will be press-man. -
the Josh Allen streak nobody talks about

Yeah - no run game and a rookie QB against Belichick. Recipe for failure. -

This is a very tough matchup. Their defense is going to play physical, and they have linebackers that can hang with our backs in man coverage. Space will be limited, and they won't let Allen run. They are very smart with their rush depth so they don't create running lanes. Honestly - this is a game made for deep shots. Until we hit them deep they'll be comfortable in man coverage - if we can force them to play to stop that... we have a shot. -

We beat Brisset who i believe was injured, with Edelman as the emergency QB. They knew they were getting Brady back in a week and didn't want to fiddle with the roster. We beat Brady/Garoppolo in a meaningless week 17 game that put Marrone at 9-7 (saint doug) Last win over brady was with Chan in 2011. Before that it was Gregg Williams team in 2003. Not sure how Buffalo wont this one either - this roster was awful. Stevie, Donald jones, and David nelson? Was the GM allergic to using any draft capital to improve our pass catchers? Don't worry - we got CJ spiller to replace Fred Jackson for some reason. Erik Pears and Chad Rinehart? Gross. Mularkey never won one, and I'd say the Ryan and Marrone wins have Asterisks. We beat them one time with Brady in and stakes... since 2003. NE is our daddy til we prove otherwise. -
He called a draw play on 4th and 9...

Pats* release Antonio Brown
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think his year is probably done at this point. He trashed every aspect of the steelers on his way out. Coaching, Management, Big Ben, JuJu for some reason. Then he goes to the raiders, has some weird helmet drama... Barely practices... then gets into it with coaching and management AGAIN. NE takes a chance on him because its like hey - his agent put out feelers when he originally left Pitt. He's a good player... lets do it! Then there's a rape accusation, a 2nd accusation, a weird texting... threat or whatever. In what? 2 weeks?! Who wants to bring a clown show to their team at this point? -

He wouldn't count in the formula - either his contract is void, or he was released while under contract. -

He's been saying and doing the right things - I know he's probably on his last strike from a league and patriots perspective. He's never been like... trashing his teams in social media, or trashing his QB, or trashing management. He legit has a substance abuse problem, has struggled a lot, and seems to have turned it around. It's more of a trust thing than like, a distraction really.
