  1. I find myself playing a floating MLB in madden a lot so i usually get someone like wagner or keuchly. Clog the middle of the field. They have good hit power for popping fumbles on slot WRs too. But good corners are awesome because you can play a lot more press coverage.
  2. Nope! Go with a QB who can scramble. I personally like speed, but having a dominant #1 is awesome because some of the spectacular catch mechanics are just broken. Plus money plays work with just about anyone so its about maximizing your yards afterwards. Speed on certain routes, guys who can break a tackle and add extra yards on others.
  3. Tyrod for me. Fitz has much better superficial numbers but the career INT% is 3.5 and he's had seasons over 4. Tyrod's is 1.5, and he's had a season as low as 1%. He's also a more dangerous scrambler, which has value as a backup because some teams really have problems with running QBs. In a mid-game replacement too you may not have gameplanned for it. Tyrod has the sack% that is bothersome, but while sacks kill drives, INTs lead to better field position thus resulting in more points. I don't really want my backup QB in shootouts anyways because you're probably losing that game anyway. Barkley seems like the backup who's just a bit of an unknown. Had a good game against the Jets and re-upped as he liked his situation here. I don't see him ever starting but i think in a few years he may get an extended look like McCown did with TB, CLE, and NYJ.
  4. Yeah, my buddy won our online league back to back years with Terrelle Pryor. So frustrating, super fast and a rocket arm.
  5. Red zone rushing (aided by Allen scrambles) 68 189 and 13 TDs (7 by Allen) - and that's inside 20. Sub 3.0 YPC. Taking out Allen you have 47 carries for 94 yards and 6 TDs. Inside 5 we had 14 carries for 1 yard and 6 TDs. The line was improved, we brought in 2 guys who can hopefully help in this area.
  6. It's a position where intangibles matter as much as talent. You need to have an arm, a quick release, and need to be able to think quickly. In the NFL you need to aid in setting the line, you need to work hard counts, run no-huddle, run plays from under center etc. The teams confidence in your ability to do these things and excel at them is what might make someone determine what makes you a high or low pick. Lots of guys with cannon arms, not a lot of guys get drafted so high JUST because of arm talent. You also need your QB to be a leader - to elevate the players around him. To inspire their teammates to believe that they are never out of it. Allen has that charisma, while others don't. Thats just the things I see when I see the comparisons.
  7. Considering the amount of 11 personnel that teams use, its not the most important position in the world anymore.
  8. Yeah - he breaks tackles in a very interesting way. I think it was puzzling to people when they looked at his combine numbers. He was average to poor across the board in conventional combine activities - so its hard to get excited i guess?
  9. I think the splits are the important part - I tried to look it up but i couldn't find these posted anywhere. If his first 10 split is solid to good - that's the most important aspect to a RB of his style. Stopping on a dime and getting going quickly.
  10. Starting lineup better, depth WAY better. Most of the starters from a year ago couldn't sniff this roster.
  11. Gonna need to - Wilson plays a lot like rodgers. Its what you do after the route that gets you targets sometimes.
  12. Same - Dimarco as a core special teamer? The 5th back is a core ST more than ever playing.
  13. I guess I'm saying he'll have a role. But it's likely going to be taking dimarco off the roster
  14. If they can take his job in camp than let them. We didn't spend a tremendous amount fo draft capital or money to get the guy. Best players make the roster and will play. Really? I think he's actually pretty good at it. Probably much better than Gore and yeldon. Never seen singletary block but something tells me isn't great. I think dimarcos the cut. 15 percent of snaps a year ago and I don't remember any impact plays with him on the field.
  15. I just see it as the best players see the field. I don't see this kid coming to training camp and taking two future HOFers jobs. If it was Barkley or something sure. But it's a 3rd round pick from FAU.
  16. I think they saw value on the board. They clearly weren't tremendously high on the wideouts - hence signing two free agents and drafting a tight end and back instead.
  17. Only yeldons under contract after this year. The draft is as much about the future as it is about plug and play.
  18. He was third though, and played mostly once McCoy and ivory got banged up
  19. Carry 4 on the 53. Singletary wont see the field unless someone's hurt. He's a 3rd round pick, why do people act like it's a guarantee?
  20. Still comes down to grades - if we like one of the WRs way more than the others you may want to pull the trigger. Last time we did this we did zay over juju tho so...
  21. Now i'm not sure what he's saying but - could he be referring to football?
  22. Yeah - the Gronk factor was that they could roll out 22 personnel with Burkhead, Develin, Allen, and Gronk. You would then at least need 3 LBs on the field or you risk getting run over in the run game. They then just spread them 4 or 5 wide with gronk and edelman on the same side and force your LBs to cover all over the field, get you out of a blitz formation, and force you into man coverages/single high looks where you have a corner or safety covering gronk 1x1. Which is a recipe for gronk to eat. Harry will be more matchup driven - teams with weak corners or teams that scheme to take away edelman with safeties. Just chuck them up to harry on the sideline.
  23. They traded a first for cooks, but thats as close as they have come. They also have traded out of the first entirely quite a few times actually.
  24. Harry is their 1x1 on the outside guy. They always have a guy that does that, they used gronk in the playoffs in that role - but its why they brought in gordon originally. If you clog the middle of the field they like having a guy who they can use to exploit those single high safety looks
