  1. Cleveland i think the keys controlling the clock - and NOT shooting themselves in the foot with penalties/turnovers whatever... move the ball - get points. If they do that well they should do fine. Denver the key is getting on them early. Do what you need to do to score 20+ points against a pretty good defense. They're 0-4 when the opponent scores 20. They've lost 3 games by 3 points or less... so this isn't a bad 3-6 team - if anything its a good 3-6 team in need of a QB. Someone else said it earlier but the best way to stop chubb other than selling out? Just score a bunch of points ?
  2. The bears like averaged more than two takeaways a game... Unsustainable.
  3. They do this a lot already. The deep shots are really called because it creates a hi/lo read that is super quick, you know right off the bat whether you have the throw or not - and if you don't you know where else to go with the ball.
  4. I think it does. He's still completing 65% of passes at about a 200 YPG clip... and adding 80 per game on the ground. He's a dynamic playmaker, who plays QB. It's just different. His numbers will never match up with other QBs - and that's OK. They're winning games, and scoring points.
  5. Have to agree with you. His stat lines aren't going to line up all the time. His Miami game is the outlier - The 100 yard rushing games are probably more frequent than that.
  6. Yeah - Wentz had 170 yards passing the week before and maybe 2 completions that i remember that were down the field. They had a few good short passes that got lots of yardage. Stat line doesn't show that like all of his scrambles were first downs either.
  7. Trubisky did have a game last year where he went for 350 and 6 TDs. After that people put him in the conversation with Watson and Mahomes etc. I think there's a few factors... their defense isn't getting takeaways at a ridiculous rate like last year. They also haven't had much of a run game all season, and he seems to be running less as a QB which is basically killing their O. Doesn't seem like they are finding ways to get Cohen involved as much either.
  8. Raw passing numbers don't tell a whole story anyway. He put up that stat line.. in a losing effort... against the consensus worst team in football and worst defense in football. In 13 extra attempts Darnold threw for 1 more pick, 1 fewer TD and about 60 more yards against Miami...
  9. This is such a strange statement. Buffalo scored more points. Had a better 3rd down conversion rate, were better in the Red zone, better yards per completion, no picks, got sacked less... They ran it 39 times because they were winning basically the entire game.
  10. Or just don't run behind the center? Can also do toss plays out of goalline, or FB dives. Fosters been seeing work at gunner too, so they must feel good about some combo of McKenzie/Roberts/foster at WR. Is Duke fully healthy now?
  11. Well... Year 1 tyrod Taylor and Dennison didn't exactly set the world on fire. Year 2 we started like 5 QBs including multiple Peterman games. And year 3 only 2 teams have put up 20+.
  12. It looks like he's played 8 games and they don't want to use Taylor a ton at 1T
  13. Felt more like fitting their gaps and tackling better.
  14. I mean - Here's Wilson winning in 2012 14-12 on the "fail mary" (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201209240sea.htm) with a cool 130 yards passing. FWIW Seattle's record through 8 games was 4-4, and they had a Point Diff of 6 points... I only bring this up because you state that Wilson plays "fun football" yet his development curve began with... "1960s Football"
  15. I don't think they need to see what they have in allen necessarily. There's a lot of guys on the team and they prepare for each game with the sole goal of winning. Do what it takes to win. I don't know if they "sheltered" him in that skins game, but it seemed like they felt like why bother passing at this point? The Redskins can't/won't score.
  16. I mean the last 2 games have been pretty windy... its not ideal situations for you to be flinging the ball around the field.
  17. If u add a 3rd wc u can just have 2 play 7 3 play 6 and 4 play 5. Then divisional week still has 4 games. U add an extra 2 wild card games and don't really change formatting too much.
  18. How many times did Wilson throw for 300 yards in his first 16 starts? 0 times. How many times did he throw for 300 yards in his first 2 years in the league? Including playoffs... 3 times.
  19. Agreed - i think 7 would be the ideal amount of teams. Add a wild card team, and home field advantage is the only team that gets a bye week. Adds 2 extra playoff games wildcard weekend too. Can do either 3 games sat and sun, or 2 sat, 3 sun and 1 monday.
  20. Peterson averaged 6 against buffalo and they lost. It doesn't correlate to anything. Buffalo has the 19th ranked rush defense through 9 weeks. It's not like buffalo is historically bad there, or incapable of improvement either. Henry had 78 yards on 20 carries. Mixon had 60 on 15. Bell 60 on 17 carries. Barkley 107 on 18 carries. Peterson 108 on 18 carries. They have had 1 really bad game against the run. And they lost. But Clevelands rush defense is actually worse than their rush offense is good. That includes a game against a luke falk lead jets team that couldn't score any points.
  21. Buffalo's struggles with the run game are going to either improve or the flood gates will open. They honestly do a good job on like 10/30 carries a game where they're limiting carries to like 1 yard or less. It's the 3-5 yarders turning into 10+ that they need to fix. Peterson had at least 3-5 carries that should've been like 3 or less that turned into significantly more. If they can keep the browns behind the sticks... let them get penalties and turnovers, shoot themselves in the foot etc. Cleveland doesn't seem confident in their ability to attack down the field either, so Buffalo has gotta play sound on defense and they should be right in this game. Offensively - Buffalo can't turn it over... Take what they give you. They have talent on defense, but its another situation where the sum is less than the parts. Pass rushing they are great, but their LBs aren't. I'd be running jet action on almost every play to get their eyes moving. Pound the rock and try and catch them with some play action.
  22. I mean in this one we ran 22 pass plays and won by 15 points. He made plays when they were there. Foster seemed to mis-track the one deep ball. Brown got interfered with on a bang-bang play, and also dropped a dime that allen threw late in the game. If he could not fumble there, probably would've been one of his most complete games.
  23. Super quick game - not a ton of plays for the defense. Got out of a game injury free pretty much too. I'll take that.
  24. Against a team running the ball 30-40 times per game... My best rush defenders would play more snaps. He's not there yet.
