I just read the whole article... Here are my conclusions Tim Graham - I get being outraged etc. But for whatever reason it never comes off as journalism. It reads very editorial for whatever reason, and like a pissed off editorial. PSE - A few things 1-they're clearly struggling with cash flow (None of their sports franchises are producing any income, their restaurants and hotels are either closed or losing money, and they have assets tied up probably in real estate and the stock market (not exactly a good time to sell Oil Futures)) 2-They're billionaires so people don't feel bad. So I guess Tim Graham wants them to borrow money to give to people? Or does he want them to sell the sabres or bills or something? 3-It doesn't sound like Kim is doing a particularly good job. But it sounds like things aren't as good behind the scenes as she'd made it out to be in public. So maybe thats what Tim is trying to expose? At the end of the day, businesses make money. If you're losing money you have to find ways to make money. Layoffs are a part of that. It may be "tone-deaf" to do it during a pandemic, but it's happening everywhere. I didn't realize the Sabres were doing so poorly financially. I know he spent a bunch of money early on and they failed, but it sounds like the caps going up but TV and ticket prices aren't mirroring in smaller markets. This to me points to another lockout. You can't give players money that doesn't exist. You also can't get out of fully guaranteed contracts very efficiently

I like him, he's a big physical guy, but also seems kinda slippery.

Ngakoue is on a franchise tag - adams is on year 4 with a 5th year option. The extension for ngakoue would be more than adams too. Adams is coming off a first-team all-pro season though so is this really the best you can do? A DE who you have to immediately give 20mil per year for, when you could just sign clowney for 20 mil per year and not have to lose your all-pro safety.

Step one - get rid of the bad contracts and malcontents. Can probably get some value for adams if you trade him now to a team who wants to extend him. Bells contract is pretty bad and untradeable but it's worth it to get him off the books. Figure out what you can do with Enunwa. Mosley's overpaid but a good player. I'd consider moving him next season. Get your ass kicked in dead money for 1 year, and then you're free of a lot of bad contracts and problems that were signed by previous regimes. You'll have money available to extend Darnold, sign free agents that help build the team in the image you're looking for, and will hopefully accumulate some draft capital to help. Hell, you might even suck enough to get #1 overall! Or if you're buffalo you could just, make the playoffs

I think they use it to try and gauge processing speed for QBs? It's not super effective. LJ is probably the first modern era QB to have real success though while having a very low score. Tua also apparently was not very good on the white board though - so I think that may be more concerning than anything else.

Yeah - 2008 was pretty bad. I'm not saying you HAVE to move around the draft - but it felt like they overdrafted a lot of guys that they liked. 2010 was bad... Not a great RB draft and they take one in the first because they need to push lynch out. Yuck. At least they traded down for EJ. Tavon Austin and TJ Mcdonald for EJ Manuel, Kiko Alonso, Maquise Goodwin, and Chris Gragg. Yikes.

I mean - Football doesn't exactly require ideal conditions. They can start the season whenever they want to and the networks will air it since its the best ratings they'll get. Would it piss off baseball or something? Probably, but what can they do?

I'm looking forward to a lot of head scratchers in this draft. There will be players unanimously mocked in rounds like 3 and 4, going in the 1st.

I always look at what Beane and Mcdermott doing on the offensive line as an open competition - probably only the left side is locked up. Feliciano's either starting RG or backup C/G. ford/nsekhe/williams... They just signed a guy... could easily see them drafting someone who they think can push bates off the 53, or convince them to trade nsekhe or williams. We don't have an elite offensive line - keep tweaking it til you can get there. Dawkins is starter this year - and they likely bring him back longterm... However he isn't elite, and not taking some chances at the position makes it hard to find someone who is elite. Things that need most improvement on the offense: Short yardage plays - get more creative than just QB sweeps on 3rd and 2. Lots of drive killers there. 18 passes vs 44 runs on 3rd/4th and short. Then 2nd/3rd and long passing. Allen has to stop holding the ball, sometimes its not there. Conventional QB rating of 74.6 on 2nd and 3rd and long, with a sack rate of 10.4%. Thats like Blaine Gabbert... I know there are some scrambles there that should somehow factor in on the sack rate, but i calculated it the same way (sacks/(sacks+pass attempts). A lot of the improvement here is on Allen. The offensive line also had 44 total penalties - these are drive killers too (24 false starts and 20 holding penalties). The ravens had 23 total... the Chiefs had 24 total... you get the idea. 20 extra times that our offense shot themselves in the foot. Over the course of 150-170 possessions... thats a lot.

All depends how the chips fall. If none of the guys they want fall then go the FA route. It isn't ideal but there's some decent RB's out there still.

Singletary took 65% or more of offensive snaps in 10 of 12 games he played in (missed 3 to hamstring injury and sat out week 17). Those 2 games were week 2, when he got hurt, and week 7 his first game back. I'm absolutely ok with adding another running back in the draft with picks 2 or 3 though. We have nothing behind him and if he were to get hurt i think production at the position would suffer. But I'm not sure how much we need a WR4 considering Mckenzie Duke and foster totalled like 43 catches in various roles. I expect beasley's snaps to decrease a bit, and mckenzie would stick as a gadget player and WR4. I guess it's nice for depth to have someone behind diggs/brown who can slot into that role a bit better than Mckenzie/ roberts should someone get hurt. However it's hard to find an offense that effectively uses a 4th WR for more than a handful of plays a year though. If Hill and Watkins don't miss time, i doubt hardman gets 26 catches for the chiefs. I guess the packers but 3 bad receivers doesn't make the 4th WR important, it just means the WRs were bad. If someone could be had in later rounds that you believe is better than mckenzie/foster/duke right now - maybe? As for TE, the Kroft restructure seems to indicate they're rolling knox, kroft and whomever from smith croom and sweeney. I expect smith unfortunately.

Typically you have the kicker, punter, and longsnapper essentially doing their own mini practice. Thats why punters hold for kickers. If you only had 2, then you have to take another guy away from practicing at his actual position to hold FGs.

He's on a 1 year deal at this point and we have a lot of people to pay next season - so it would be tough to bring him back. However, cutting lee smith saves the cap hit so it's a wash dollar wise. How much should a team be willing to wager for a 1yr rental?

White's a "set the market" kind of player. I don't see Dawkins or Milano as that guy. OLB's who get paid are traditionally pass rusher's, and he has 2.5 sacks in 3 years. He's a solid coverage linebacker and a smart player. At the same token - Shaq Thompson just got 13.5 AAV. I assume negotiations are starting at around 11-13M per year for Milano? Dawkins? Vet deals basically start at 10 million, and he'll be a younger player so you're looking at like 14?

He's played in 1 playoff game in 2016. He's also a bit of a drama queen. Remember the whole watch thing? Just take off your watch! its a football game!

Yeah - as soon as williams signed it was like - he's either the swing tackle/guard or he's traded for a 6th RD pick. I don't think we could get much for spencer long, but maybe? He has played guard and center in the NFL and usually those types can be hard to come by. Yeah - He's 3rd string center - and he's going to be in a battle with bates. Keeping bates saves you money, and neither likely sees the field this season. Bates also likely takes some snaps at 2nd string center in camp since feliciano is starting RG.

Basically 4 years and 60 million left on his deal that you would cover. Fair amount more than Diggs. He hasn't been particularly elite in the last 3 years either. I'd probably still go offensive line in the first and then use their early 2nd on a WR. Stefanaski is a run first guy so I think they'll want to roll heavy PA with Chubb/Hunt. Plus they have Hooper/Njoku.

No idea what goes into generating a DYAR and DVOA for running backs in a passing attack - but allens scattershot accuracy on swing passes has to harm these numbers, no? Seems to factor yards per target, as well as catch rate and TDs. But look at the guys on the bottom and their QBs and it makes a bit of sense. Either way - Gore wasn't it, and Motor should have to earn 3rd down opportunities. The screen game for Buffalo in general has also been bad.

I mean - the remaining free agent options are in limbo. Anyone with a health risk is in a holding pattern until they can get in front of team docs. And the others are waiting for the draft to happen, then they're playing musical chairs to make sure they're on a roster for camp. I like Motor, and I like the idea of adding someone in rounds 2-3. I also understand why they wouldn't go that route and just decide to try and bring along a vet. Depends how the draft falls - if there's serious value at 54 then pull the trigger. If it's not major value, then go for where you think there is value. Jones i believe was brought in for Special teams, so he likely is active gamedays. Usually they would only have 2 others active and a 4th on the 53. So i doubt they'd draft someone and sign Hyde. One of them's probably not active.

The GM has not panned out. But if they fire another GM... I just don't know who to hire. If most of the murray picks are bad, you're left with a barren pipeline. Murray also traded a lot of the prospects who should be depth on this roster - in short sighted moves to try and rush the rebuild. People wanted JB to try and make some crazy move to salvage this season and TBH I'm glad he didn't. Stop loading this team with terrible contracts, you need players to contribute on entry-level deals or it wont matter. And can they get a friggin goalie? Why are we so worried about every other aspect of this team but stopping the puck. A better player than hutton and they're probably sitting at 78-80 points and a little run away from sneaking into the playoffs. Also - Ullmark aint it. Keep looking.

I mean - for this years picks maybe? Minny would still have 2 firsts to address holes on defense. For the browns, i think I'd likely use their first 2nd round pick on a WR. If they do the trade I'm sure they'd be tempted by a top 3 WR in this draft, but they have problems along the offensive line and their new coach is a run first kinda guy.
