  1. Yeah - they did them no favors there. 2 pats games, 2 nfc games, a PO'd browns team. Who knows with jax and their new QB but i imagine their defense will know how to stop an adam gase offense.
  2. Still a lot more talent on the jets O than the fins. Bell, Crowder, Anderson, they just added Thomas too. Certainly not ideal though to lose a young guy like enunwa who you just locked up. They even still have talent on defense. 2 solid safeties, a stout defensive line.
  3. If we both finish 9-7 its the primary tiebreaker. That's why it falls under a special importance. If we're both 9-7/10-6 and we beat the ravens and steelers but lose to them it doesn't matter unless a 3rd team is in there.
  4. They're built a lot like Buffalo honestly. Play 2 of their 3 last games against houston. Could be for the division there. They draw a fair amount of high powered offenses this year... They also have the AFC west - which would be great except the home games are LAC and KC. So they travel west to play Oak and Den... It's a rough schedule. I see them finishing like 9-7 and losing tiebreakers. We NEED to win that game against tennessee... the stretch of ravens/steelers/patriots is going to be tough to grab a win. I think its do-able but thats 3 veteran head coaches who have made their careers on shutting down young QBs. I'm not all in on the lamar jackson train quite yet, just because it seemed like he had hours to throw in that miami game - but they were in the playoffs last year so clearly they're talented. Key is NOT turning it over at all, let alone 4 times.
  5. I know early we were thinking trade down, but when oliver fell to 9 it became clear we were on the phone with him immediately.
  6. Defense is McD's thing - and honestly a good defense is still really important. Doubtful that Frazier would leave anytime soon - he won't get sniffed for a HC in this era of young offensive guys. He also seems to work well with McDermott honestly.
  7. This is why coachspeak exists... People hate that mcdermott doesn't really say much of anything about his players, neither does Belichick. Right after the game? I dunno, need to see film. After i see the film? On to the ______, lets talk about them. And when i do, i will have nothing but compliments for that team. Then you have McVay talking about a called back penalty from a preseason game in 2017 when this guy threw a pass. Or ya know... coaching your players? Not ripping them apart in a press conference. This is why i hate when coaches call plays. Separates you from the coaching too much - Gase is probably only talking to other coaches and the QBs for the entire game. If he didn't like Andersons route, he should be telling him right away - and COACHING him. Not just telling him he sucks.
  8. I knew he had a quick first step and was definitely a high motor type of guy, but he plays with a bit of an edge too. Once he's free he's like shot out of a cannon rushing the QB.
  9. Just thinking the same thing - although ross had a fantastic game against us in the preseason a couple years ago. This is a game that our offense needs to play well, and our d-line needs to feast on a poor offensive line.
  10. We did sign him before we drafted either of the kids. Based on the pay i assume he was brought in to start - but after drafting and liking both knox and sweeney he may not stick beyond a year. We did a good job in FA filling a ton of holes so we could add players we liked at whatever position in the draft. 2 TE's plus signing Smith post draft... leads me to believe that kroft is not likely expected to stick. Cap hit is only 1.6 mil if we released him next year (assuming healthy). We would have to cut him like right when the year started though because of base salary and roster bonus guarantee's that trigger on 3/22/2020.
  11. You should blitz young QBs honestly - allen/jackson/murray are always going to be tough to blitz because of their athleticism. If they escape pressure you have less coverage down field and they have more space to run.
  12. He had like 5 telegraphed passes that got batted down too. So he was either holding it, or throwing it to his first read.
  13. From a fantasy perspective - 4 turnovers is not good. From an actual football perspective - a lot of it was out of his control, he looked generally more accurate than last year, and more poised. Balls were getting out faster, his scrambling created some plays with his arm in addition to his legs. All in all i saw development.
  14. Wouldnt be surprised if theyre asking him to massively scale back any type of social media presence.
  15. not sure - they just kept running him towards the sidelines... the oline never got far enough out to create any type of zone to cut back into.
  16. The steelers also didn't look every good on either side of the ball. JuJu clearly missed having an all-pro opposite him, and they couldn't run the ball at all. Big Ben looked rusty too - guess it happens when you sit your guys all preseason.
  17. Very Madden like. Sneak hurry up sneak.... Basically always get at least 1 yard
  18. I agree with you... Sure he catches a lot of passes near the LOS... but he also is insanely fast and elusive. He's executing the gadget play better than anyone else could - so that would lead me to believe that he's an amazing player. He has top level deep ball tracking. This leads me to believe he'll have a long and successful career, because speed while important is nothing if you can't get under the pass and catch it in stride. Look at Desean Jackson - not a particularly sharp route runner, and probably not as fast as he used to be, but the guy gets open and catches deep balls. He's not particularly physical, but he is quick out of breaks. Just because he's not huge or a high catch point guy doesn't mean he isn't a top 3 receiver in the league at the moment.
  19. I expect teams to blitz until allen shows the ability to consistently make you pay. He was not very good against the blitz or pressure in general a year ago, so teams will dial up pressure until he proves capable of stopping it. Beasley will be huge as a hot receiver in these types of situations, same with TEs and the running backs (both picking up blitzes and lining up wide as receivers to force teams to spread out.
  20. Probably smart to have kept mckenzie then. I still like him on PR more than i liked ray ray
  21. Bell is a better back than anyone we have. While they didn't make the splash signings on the oline - they return a few starters and had a better O-line than buffalo last year. WR wise i would say we may be close to even - Andersons underrated but honestly so is brown. Enunwa is oft-injured but talented. Crowder is also good when healthy. Based on production though it would seem like the Jets have a leg up, no? Darnold also looked more polished than allen. It'll all come down to Allen for our offense - if he is vastly improved all the other pieces will look good.
  22. Most teams carry a 3rd to run scout team with PS receivers. Try and replicate what ur seeing on film
  23. It's cap money for next year if u roll it over. It's also a salary savings. If you think the other guys get you the same production why pay him the several million dollar salary
  24. He sold the missed block really well there and kind of faded. Really deceptive
