  1. With regards to the Jags - they can make those cuts and get some room to maneuver. But they had to trade Ramsey for picks because they were very unlikely to extend him. They got a large return, but they did go from a good defensive team to a bad one. I think he's a tad overrated, but he's a top 5-10 CB in the NFL. They'll also lose their best pass rusher because it doesn't make sense to tie up cap to tag and try and trade him, and you drafted his replacement in josh allen 2. Improving their defense is going to be huge for them, their offense isn't great, but it should be enough to keep them in games if they aren't just getting gashed on defense.
  2. Benjamin was pretty bad in year 2. He came to camp like 260 - not even remotely in shape. So bad that they just flat out cut him midseason.
  3. I never blame players for taking advice given to them by an agent who kinda... negotiates with teams for a living. Not eating/working out was on him. Its one of the main reasons he failed. Guy was an athlete but i don't think he really liked football much. Pure speed rusher with no counters. Seems like McD and Beane tend to value the football more than the 40 time and the bench press reps, which i appreciate.
  4. I will say - after maybin went to the jets and rex talked him up i began to hate him. I think his career ended when he flew around the end and got de-cleated by fred jackson and thrown aside like a little kid. I guess he's like a teacher and artist in baltimore now. So I can say it seems like he's a good person.
  5. If you count Jonnu Smith, Brown, and Davis (all solid blockers) then you have 8... He ran through some absolutely gaping holes towards the end of the year.
  6. Justin Rogers. I know it's not his fault he wasn't good. But he was so clearly pinpointed and targeted and was just terrible. It made me incredibly mad watching the game so I kind of hate him for it. I remember being like the angriest i ever was at a football game watching stephen hill just burn him over and over again. I know gilmore was hurt - but come on. How could you not find ANYONE ELSE?! Based on personality - McGahee. What a jerk. Oddly enough - he had horrible back problems. And the reason Gronk slipped so far, was because he had back issues.
  7. Get on board with the happenings in buffalo - or see what happens.
  8. Yeah - they've had ticket issues recently so i do think it helps. He won't always wrestle but putting him on the poster will help sell some tickets. #3 is hard because it probably requires buffalo to play elsewhere for a year... where is elsewhere?
  9. Players get cut or traded all the time in the NFL - especially overpaid ones like McCoy. Sorry - we tried to trade you but no one wanted you for that much money. Sorry Reggie - zone defense is apparently too complex for you to understand. Sammy was on an expiring deal for a team going no where - take the picks. Still went to the playoffs, and he got hurt - cuz he always gets hurt.
  10. Yeah - but he was retired 9 years ago! Did you hear that pop at the rumble?!
  11. I mean - didn't he have surgery like the day the season ended? These guys were banged up for sure. I do think they still think Ford is the guy at RT. Hence going for an upgrade at LG.
  12. I was always partial to the magnificent eleven - just a good song for highlights. Salute to Courage was good too - play that after a W for sure.
  13. In OT 2nd and 12. He got the completion on 3rd to extend the drive
  14. Yeah - i do think he'd be a solid compliment to a guy like singletary though. Good vision and cuts. Good hands. Just don't want to pay him a bunch of money for what in all likelihood is 100 carries for 4-500 yards, 20 catches for another 150, and 3 total TDs. Why pay that guy - Yeldon can get you something similar and he's already here for cheaper. If you're paying a running back he needs to be really good at something. Good 1 cuts, break tackles, breakaway speed, elusiveness... something. This guys just seems like a zone guy with good hands.
  15. I honestly felt like he benefited the most from the improved play of shaq lawson. Just felt like shaq would do something good and philips always ended up with the sack.
  16. Yeah - 3rd might still turn people off on making a multi-year commitment for him. The question is - is he better than a 3rd round pick by the approximately 10 million dollars it'd cost to secure him (Singletary was 4yr at about 4 mil total, hunt would be looking at 3 years 15 mil total and more guaranteed than the 4). I personally don't think moving a 3rd to pay a player a lot more than that slot is smart. If it were a 5th or 6th? Now its of a much greater likelihood that he is better than the player, so it makes more sense.
  17. I'm thinking they jump Miami for Tua. Gotta sell tickets desperately, and he's more marketable than herbert.
  18. His outside the numbers velocity and accuracy isn't very good. He also tends to miss high... but they have 2 huge TEs with great hands so it works - just attack the middle, and the boundary throws should be easy. The rest of the offense is mostly verticals off of play action. Kaepernick had a great arm but he couldn't get the feel and timing down. He wasn't the same type of athlete as LJ either.
  19. What about anderson? I don't see him getting a big payday tbh. Id like him on a 1 yr deal and hopefully draft someone too.
  20. They can't move johnson, and you can't justify paying drake anything because now you have tied up way too much cap in running backs. 3 pro bowl o-lineman, a pro bowl FB, and a pro-bowl TE = running lanes for their backs. Having a QB who's faster than most of the league, and jukes like McCoy doesn't hurt either. Running read option adds like an extra blocker that you have to take very seriously because he's the most dynamic player on the field. They also generally run the ball well in standard formations because they have really quality blocking - thus setting up play action to take shots. Their power running just keeps gashing you for little chunks and keeps them in 3rd/4th and very makeable situations. Stack up 1st downs and score TDs. You'll beat anyone doing all that. I think as the league has become more and more about passing - defenses have been more built on speed. They're built more around power at the LOS. I do think Roman may have outsmarted himself in the playoff game too. 4th and 1 from your own 45 in the 1st quarter? Then a panic drive down 14-0 right after? Another bad play call on 4th and 1... Forced into a passing game that LJ won't win.
  21. I agree. The free agents arent good, and the draft guys all look to have significantly better legs than Bojo. If you draft one - you're committed to upgrading the position. If you don't, you have a somewhat desirable destination for UDFA. The only issue is - punting in buffalo sucks. I say drop one of the ones after 150 on any of those 3. Watching Kern legit pin the patriots back again and again was a thing of beauty.
  22. Rivers - gross Mariota - Maybe the bears with Trubiskey? Green - Makes sense to maximize what you have in front of a rookie. They're not a free agent destination because of ownership, and they don't need cap space. Can make the 17+ million in a second by cut/trading dalton too. Henry - Pass. Too much for a back. He does have an impressive size/speed combo - but his limitations in a passing attack make him a bit of a niche player. Needs to be in a heavy play action team who doesn't throw the ball to their backs very often. He's currently on that team, so i kind of assume he'll stay. Gordon - Is he even good? 10 mil a year? yuck.
  23. Watching Drake, he always impressed me. Looks really quick, has some good top end speed, good hands. Never understood why miami didn't give him a chance. Nevermind - adam gase isn't a very good coach.
