  1. It's supposed to be a good draft for WRs, but it's a position that takes time to develop. Some guys are forced to step in right away, but buffalo seems to prefer to make u earn playing time.
  2. Yes - but we're all homers. The bills are a confusing team though. They are good enough to play with anyone and theoretically beat them. They also can find ways to fail.
  3. They also do a lot of wonky stuff in blow outs to throw off charting. Runs with James white out of certain formations, play actions in blow outs - stuff that makes the % off ever so slightly.
  4. Confident, not like jilted i guess? I dunno rosen came off very sour grapes on what should be the like big day of ur career.
  5. Rosen came out firing after the draft like everyone ahead of them made mistakes. LJ just said I'm happy to be drafted and prepared for football season.
  6. I mean im looking at the 85 bears.. there's some big signature wins over montana, theisman, phil simms. The only loss was by Dan Marino. But they also shut out the falcons led by David Archer and Bob Holly... Put a hurting on that pesky Eric Hipple. Mike Pagel and the colts... There were some great games, but they also played some pretty crappy offenses. Looking at the 2000 Ravens - same kind of thing. Shut out tim couch, Kent Graham, Scott Mitchells Bengals. Held Ryan leaf to 3 points.. you get the point. Great defenses beat up bad offenses. What would put the patriots in the conversation is keeping it up against better competition, and winning a championship.
  7. Through 7 games they have a top whatever defense of all time. That means nothing as they must play 9 more games. If they continue to terrorize everyone they play, they very rightfully should be placed in that conversation.
  8. Does it have to be different penalties? Maybe gase watched the game and clock and was like... thank you...
  9. They're really good. Yes - they have played some relatively lousy offenses. But they are legit. 48 points allowed - Absurd... and more absurd is that there are 21 of those came off of a pick 6 from the backup QB, a muffed punt, and a sack fumble. 3 TDs allowed in 7 games - ridiculous 12 or fewer first downs in 5 of 7 games - possibly more ridiculous, the jets had like 4 of their 12 last night on penalties... 22 takeaways - 7 more than any other defense 3 games where the opponent had under 200 yards, and 5 games where they were under 225 - NE had 224 against us, and they looked like a disaster. They have had 5 games where the other team was a straight up disaster. 5 of 7 games they held the opponent under 100 rush yards as a team - not unheard of in this era but its clearly somewhat an indicator of success 4 games with 4 or more takeaways... absolutely feasting on young QBs And for those saying these QBs are terrible etc... why did Darnold shred the cowboys a week ago? Why did Allen have by far his worst game this season... or same with Daniel jones? NE has the best defense in football. Lot of football left to get to the all-time level, but they are well on their way. Currently the best in the NFL at a yards per play and points allowed. Niners are up there too, and Buffalo is probably like in the 3-5 area with bears and panthers.
  10. We have played a few QBs with quick triggers this year - Manning, Brady, Dalton. Could be part of the reason the numbers are low. We sacked brady 0 times... but he was legit under pressure the entire game.
  11. and they had like 7 carries in the game. What better way to help your young QB than getting to a better down and distance.
  12. I'm hoping that daboll has some creative looks to attack their secondary. Look for them to try and take away deep crossers which allen has done a good job with. I think it'll be a bit more of a dink and dunk type game. John Brown and beasley need to have a big days for a W here. They do a lot of designed runs with LJ, as he's like a free extra blocker - and the RPOs allow simple pre and post snap reads. The team's he'll struggle with are faster defenses that play zone. They would need to have a good run defense, but also can run with their speed at receivers and confuse him with different looks etc. We would pose an interesting matchup as we do a lot of those things well. Not afraid to crowd the LOS, we get hands in passing lanes, have some good pass rushers and tackle well.
  13. We tried to do more man coverage in this game for whatever reason - maybe something on film dictated doing that against miami. In zone the onus is on the LBs and hyde to really do a good job taking away ertz opportunities.
  14. Maybe Lee Smith's good at onside kicks? Not sure how often they practice it
  15. Probably a bad joke. Was also a pretty bad drop. Ended up settling for 3 again
  16. I mean - the team has sacks in every game except NE (and brady was under pressure all game long). Darnold 4 times, Mariota 5 times, Dalton 2 times, and even Eli once despite that offense basically having him throw within 2 seconds on every snap. I'd like the trade if we didn't have to give up too much - would allow us to certainly let Lawson walk in 2020 and gives some flexibility with alexander likely retiring. I'd still want to replace alexander but his flexibility would become less of a priority and you could look to just add a full-time linebacker. Other than Phillips we really don't have any crazy priority free agents, and there isn't anyone on this list that isn't replaceable - so I'm all for adding a high salary guy for 2020 and beyond if the price in picks isn't excessive. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/buffalo-bills/
  17. I like Gore this week. He's just been chugging along and i like him to score this week. Singletery coming off an injury likely means a snap count of like 20 - especially in a game where we're favored.
  18. Assuming they can play the comp pick game... When you have to sign free agents to fix x y and z it can be difficult. It's also a 2021 3rd which doesn't help you in 2020 Anderson Crowder damaryus Thomas. Enunwa got hurt right away which hurt them. I don't see them getting a rental WR when they're already losing Anderson next year.
  19. Considering we have a defense first mindset - i would hope those numbers would lead to more wins.
  20. If they were happy with smith and humphrey they wouldnt have traded for peters...
  21. Maybe if Wade was smart he burns all the damn clock down. We kicked on first down! I'm aware we had no timeouts, but come on. Qb sneaks and get to the line to spike if u have to. If u can get it to 3-5 seconds it may run out and you can just kick out of bounds. Then we'd be talking about the refs calling PI on a hail Mary
  22. Between turnovers and really poorly timed penalties they've got a lot to work on this week
  23. With mayfield i look at it like... sure the picks weren't your fault... but what about the passes that were insanely inaccurate that weren't picked off? Yeah - sort of like pulling your goalie in a blowout. There has to be some blame on him for both. The callaway throw was behind his knee... not exactly pinpoint ball placement in a clean pocket. Allen gets dinged for this all the time - mayfield was supposed to be super accurate. The sherman one is on him - didn't step into his throw and yes he was hit but then don't throw it.
