One year ago today: AB era in Buffalo
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before the last 2 years i thought he was like a "do your job" type of football player. Then i read his scouting report coming up and it basically read - DIVA. They also said speed wasnt there to be a fulltime starter, and he was too small etc. But they got the Diva part right. -

Yeah, mark Ingram money is appropriate there. -

He's a good, not great player. He's a better receiving back than most, but he's 27 and has a ton of mileage -
Justin Jefferson should be our WR target at 22

There isn't a guy in free agency who is doing that consistently - its a hard trait to find. Rookies can struggle out of the gate at this position too. I wouldn't be opposed to a corner or hybrid safety if the player is right. Even a speedy linebacker would be fine. -

I actually agree with you. I still say BPA. Team needs stars and i don't really care on the position. -

I just don't know what is considered #1 anymore. Does he need to be tall? or does he need to be fast? Do we want super big plays down the field? Or are you looking for someone who can catch the ball and make a ton of plays. I think Jefferson could easily compare to a player like Keenan Allen as much as Landry. Baldwin... Adams... These guys aren't super fast or super big but they're super productive because they can a- get open b- good hands c- make contested plays on the ball. -

Chan Gailey wasn't that great of an offensive coach. -

I mean - 5 straight pro bowls... averages about 90/1000/6. I think the way gase used him was probably wrong for his skillset, but he's still a good player. He can make plays down the field, has fantastic hands, active blocker, physical downfield and hard to tackle. He's not a true #1 receiver, but i think he's probably the best #2 in the NFL. -

Why would i pay gordon more? Ekeler is the better player. -

Guy makes plays down the field though. He just doesn't bring actual 4.4 separation to the tape. He makes a lot of plays, great at high pointing - great at contested catches down field and over the middle. I also feel like he's that guy thats just... open when you scramble. Finds the open grass or something. Shades of doug baldwin. -
Jets Quinnen Williams Arrested in NY

It's one of the issues that the Fed has pushed on states, so the enforcement and laws are different. -

I mean - he legally can't carry it in the state. Let alone at the airport. Huge lapse in judgement. -
Armstead instead of Epenesa

I watch a decent amount of big 10 football... but i cant say i watch the DE on Iowa. I have no idea if he's good. -
Medical came back fine i believe. Not sure on the odds of recurrence - i remember reading Pitta dislocated his hip a few times and it basically ended a promising career. He also has missed time with high ankle sprains that he had surgically repaired so... There's definitely a checkered injury history there.

He's better than the free agent WRs available, but i don't think it makes financial sense for them to trade him. They restructured his contract to lower his cap hit a couple of years ago... time to pay the piper. You're stuck with him. Well the team acquiring him wouldnt be on the hook for that. He has signing bonus, restructure bonus, and all sorts of other money tied up through 2021. If buffalo traded for him i think they would just owe him 1 million which is guaranteed for 2021 if they wanted to part ways.

I just look at it from an owners perspective. He moved the team from SD because of money - and if he doesn't get season ticket sales moving quickly he's going to lose a ton of money. The whole move to LA was short-sighted and stupid. They don't have fans there. No ones driving 3 hours in traffic to and from a chargers game - and the Rams already played there.

New empty stadium... Makes sense from a marketing perspective. They could also be going all-in on a year or 2 of brady to try and move some PSLs and season tickets. They are incredibly short on PSLs in the new stadium (https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2019/10/11/los-angeles-chargers-revenue-could-take-hit-from-low-psl-sales/), and it would end up hitting the owner in the wallet if he can't move them. We'll know more once FA shakes out.

Gonna cost a lot - the option of getting chase young is pretty appetizing. Having him fall to 4 would be hilarious - considering Gettleman wanted originally to trade the pick. Jets traded #6 and 3 2nd rounders. Gotta think another 1st in 2021 and 2 2nds might get it done. If Haskins gets moved to the right team it could be good for his career. Lets be real - washington is probably the terrible situation. If pittsburgh, or NO grabbed him it will probably be a better spot for him. Give him at least a year to sit and learn from a HOFer.
