No idea what goes into generating a DYAR and DVOA for running backs in a passing attack - but allens scattershot accuracy on swing passes has to harm these numbers, no? Seems to factor yards per target, as well as catch rate and TDs. But look at the guys on the bottom and their QBs and it makes a bit of sense. Either way - Gore wasn't it, and Motor should have to earn 3rd down opportunities. The screen game for Buffalo in general has also been bad.

I mean - the remaining free agent options are in limbo. Anyone with a health risk is in a holding pattern until they can get in front of team docs. And the others are waiting for the draft to happen, then they're playing musical chairs to make sure they're on a roster for camp. I like Motor, and I like the idea of adding someone in rounds 2-3. I also understand why they wouldn't go that route and just decide to try and bring along a vet. Depends how the draft falls - if there's serious value at 54 then pull the trigger. If it's not major value, then go for where you think there is value. Jones i believe was brought in for Special teams, so he likely is active gamedays. Usually they would only have 2 others active and a 4th on the 53. So i doubt they'd draft someone and sign Hyde. One of them's probably not active.

The GM has not panned out. But if they fire another GM... I just don't know who to hire. If most of the murray picks are bad, you're left with a barren pipeline. Murray also traded a lot of the prospects who should be depth on this roster - in short sighted moves to try and rush the rebuild. People wanted JB to try and make some crazy move to salvage this season and TBH I'm glad he didn't. Stop loading this team with terrible contracts, you need players to contribute on entry-level deals or it wont matter. And can they get a friggin goalie? Why are we so worried about every other aspect of this team but stopping the puck. A better player than hutton and they're probably sitting at 78-80 points and a little run away from sneaking into the playoffs. Also - Ullmark aint it. Keep looking.

I mean - for this years picks maybe? Minny would still have 2 firsts to address holes on defense. For the browns, i think I'd likely use their first 2nd round pick on a WR. If they do the trade I'm sure they'd be tempted by a top 3 WR in this draft, but they have problems along the offensive line and their new coach is a run first kinda guy.

I mean Ekeler was a UDFA, and just got a raise to 6M per year. He was just as productive a receiver as McCaffrey - and split time with Gordon. They replaced Gordon with Justin Jackson who was a 7th round pick. The Ravens had Ingram, Edwards, Hill. All I'm saying is you can get the production from other players at the position. Of the 5 leading rushers in the NFL, 2 made the playoffs. From a pure team rushing yardage perspective, its somewhat of a precursor to success (Turnover Differential seems to always point to playoff teams) - but I don't think those yards need to come from a single player. Rush Yards per game - Buffalo ranked 8th Rush Yards per carry - Buffalo ranked 13th Expected points from Rushing offense - Buffalo ranked 9th As for pass catching running backs A- Daboll needs to build into the offense more since I think some of the gimme plays give Allen a bit of confidence B- RBs who catch passes don't necessarily equal team/offensive success. 5/15 of the leading receiving backs teams made the playoffs. Outside of NO and the Vikings, I wouldn't even consider the other 3 to have particularly good offenses. I feel like the NFL "league" of owners wouldn't let a team fail at this point. The richest of owners would prop up the other ones with loans and stuff.

At the end of the day - owners have deep pockets - and every scout and GM etc. has basically just had some ridiculous battlestation put into their home offices with a few weeks to test out the conferencing features etc. Probably have some sort of slick Draft board software that someone built and sold to sports teams for you to organize it how you would on a big magnetic board. I've built some stuff in excel that i thought was pretty cool for fantasy baseball - but this is probably like, click his name and a popup comes up with like measureables, stats, grades that you input etc. If they don't i'd fire the App developer immediately - this should be able to be programmed in like a day. Assuming the NFL provides teams with a usable database of draft-eligible player measurements and stats. I think the vet's in trouble would likely be - Nsekhe (if they feel good about williams/bates), Long (for same reasons), Maybe Lee Smith, and Philips. But I'd bring every one of them to camp this year - its going to be an abbreviated camp. If someone important along the oline gets hurt etc. you're going to want them there. Move them closer to cut downs.

To consider Singletary the 31st best RB because he only had 775 yards discounts the fact that his YPC was a very good 5.1. Singletary averaged 15 touches per game (and missed some time with the hamstring) to McCaffreys 24. Was there room for improvement? Yes - Ball security was an issue at times (watching him get run down is terrifying), he had some room to improve in the passing game (drops mainly). But he was a rookie... I think one can expect some level of improvement. He also had massively increased usage in the 2nd half of the year. I don't feel like extrapolating over a full season but I suppose I could. Oh, and McCaffrey averaged 12.3 touches his rookie year, and had 435 yards rushing on 3.7 YPC. Just comparing rookie seasons in that way gives Singletary a leg up. I personally don't care how Buffalo does it - but get the YPC up, and get running backs who can make plays in the passing game. I'd prefer keeping costs low however you do it so you can continue to invest in the offensive line. Baltimore rolls 3 deep, same with SF and Arizona last year. However you don't need to give one guy 300 carries, if giving 2 guys 150 carries works just as well for half the price. The key to me is if Singletary isn't going to be your RB to get 75-100 targets out of the backfield, we need that guy.

I like Akers. He seems boring but just gets the job done.

Why do they need a running back to carry a huge workload? Ekeler had a fantastic year last year - and they can get 100-150 touches out of Justin Jackson. Ekeler gains more yards per catch than pretty much any other running back. If the yardage ends up the same who cares who got them? Same with TDs, will having McCaffrey end up getting them more TDs? Or did Cam's TDs end up as McCaffreys since they had to adjust their offense in the red zone?

More of a brown liquor kinda guy, but id give it a shot. I've found spending a bit more on vermouth has made a big difference in my martini game when i make them for the wife. Maybe stepping up from goose/ketel is next.

I don't think its a bad deal - hes a great player. However - comparing yardage from RBs to WRs isn't fair. How many yards would another running back have gotten rushing the ball on his carries - probably less but its also probably closer than you think. 200 yards rushing less maybe? As for the receiving factor - James white had a slightly lower catch rate, and lower yards per catch. But he costs 4 million. So while he is a great back - is he worth the full 16 million? I'm not sure. He's obviously really hard to tackle in space making him lethal in the red zone where its often 1x1 for backs on the outside. He has the speed to turn plays into TDs. But at the same time, if you get a few backs and run the same offense you can probably obtain largely similar results spread out. Is he Marshall Faulk? Basically yeah. But is that worth the extra 10 million more per year than Austin Ekeler?

Not to mention like - the bills offense wasn't very good last year. It's cool to see a highlight video like this, but in a lot of those games we needed 4th quarter comebacks - and generally didn't score a ton of points. Hopefully the addition of Diggs, and a year of improvement from Allen can contribute to something closer to a top 10 Offense.

I always found him overrated. Then i played him in fantasy in 2016 against the bills and he absolutely shredded the vaunted Rex Ryan Defense... So what do i know? Crazy year too - started 0-7 in fantasy and won out to make playoffs. He was the main piece of the absolute annhiliation in that playoff game. I made this horrible trade and the throw-in was chris hogan, and my friend who traded me him was talking smack. I played him against buffalo and hogan had a nice game. The Hogan throwaway move was the catalyst ?

I'd still go LT 2006. As for the contract - his yards per touch is in line with peak LT. I don't think he'll maintain that, but assuming healthy - he's going to be a 300-400 touch type of player. He's the best running back in the NFL currently - and should be getting 1000 on the ground and another 1000 in the air. So i would assume this takes place after this upcoming year. Takes him through age 28 then. He's also better than Bell. Bell was also tagged so i feel like negotiations were never smooth. He got a bit more than David Johnson did on his extension, plus the extra year... and we all see how that worked out ?.

I don't think he is an amazing coach by any means, but from a personnel standpoint he appears to be a nightmare. Poor value in almost all of the trades. Rick Smith spent a lot to get Watson - which has turned out to be a really smart move. Gaine had nothing to work with in 2018 - and in 2019 I thought had a pretty bad draft. Somehow they decided to just promote Obrien, he made head scratching moves... and they made the move permanent. I don't give him a good grade on really anything he's done. Clowney - 3rd rounder... was there even a negotiation? You probably get the 3rd round pick if you just let him walk. They flipped this pick for Gareon Conley. Tunsil and stills - 2 firsts and a second?? And the throw-in stills cost 6 million extra. You could have just rolled that over and given it to hopkins 3rd round pick for Duke Johnson? Then after miller was hurt they traded a OT drafted in 2018 for Hyde. Hopkins for david johnson and a 2nd? All-pro WR and top 3 in the league at the position. You got a 2nd round pick and an overpaid 29 year old RB who's last good season was 2016. He just seems very like - not level-headed. He's not planning or building anything. Hell he traded the 1st and 2nd in 2021 - so they aren't bringing any premier players in next year either.

I might still take Wilson. Won a super bowl. And honestly seems to be getting better with like less talent around him, kinda Aaron Rodgers like. Also never missed a game, and only missed the playoffs once in 2017 with a very injured team.

2 pass rushers before a corner or WR... its sort of similar to how the NFL draft prioritizes. I feel like all-pro Offensive linemen will be underrated in this type of exercise vs. a mock draft. Obviously QBs go early on in this - which creates a need to overdraft mediocre ones or old ones. But you might just be better off building a beast oline and WRs and then just throw Foles or something out there. I've done these in madden though, they really only work for 1 season since by rule they always shut the salary cap off.

I watched the whole season, i don't need to re-watch a worst of compilation. Here's my thoughts on causes He widens his base sometimes (especially on touch throws) and balls sail. Just an uncomfortable way of throwing, and some of those little flare and swing passes to TEs and RBs have been out of reach. Timing on deep balls is an issue as he always seemed to hesitate a little at the last second. I also watched something that indicated that he was tilting his shoulders on throws which would cause trajectory issues. Timing is also an issue on short stuff, he'll whip it over on the hitch and the balls not where it needs to be. Usually its low or out of bounds - like him and the receiver had a different thought on the leverage. He also has shown slower eyes on stuff over the middle and either pats the ball or hesitates and then tries to rifle it into a small window. These will also be short sometimes.
