  1. I mean - are you paying him pennies on the dollar on a 1 year deal? he has a career catch rate thats lower than anderson and perriman. Doesn't offer the same speed. Played in 1 game last year.
  2. Well... we picked him up off the scrap heap. Gave him a reasonable prove-it 1 year deal. He earned the right to try and get the big contract. Tre and allen are cornerstone players who are expected to be here long haul.
  3. I expect to overpay - but i have a hard time making a non pro-bowl player the highest paid at his position. At the same time - free agency is a wasteland at left tackle.
  4. I said somewhat. Its a loaded program, i just wouldve liked to see i dunno 1000 yards? More than 4 100 yard games in 3 seasons? Yeah - they aren't really that comparable other than that they are very fast. Just saying - don't want to be the team that did things like... Take zay over juju and kupp. Or traded up for watkins instead of just sitting pat for evans or beckham. This ones gotta be right ?
  5. Not at all. Thats watkins all over again jumping up in a deep positional draft.
  6. One should hope thats a word of warning. I suppose he still has a chance to be a good player, but so far hes been a pretty huge whiff. Ruggs lack of production is somewhat of a red flag to me.
  7. I just think the sample size of him playing well is really small. 3 teams in 4 years doesn't look particularly promising either. 95 catches in 195 targets... If I'm his agent i measure by guaranteed money and convince him to take the highest one, i dont know that he gets another chance if he doesn't do well on this deal.
  8. Something happened that day - my wife and i were driving to meet friends at the jake for the draft and she asked who i wanted to draft. All the time leading up to the draft i had been heavily for josh rosen.. but that day i just said - i want josh allen. So needless to say, i was pleased.
  9. They said it would be against the other conference. In year 1 the AFC hosts the extra game, in year 2 the NFC hosts the extra game. Would be rotating based on divisional finish, excluding the division that you are already playing. So the idea is to continue to increase parity by forcing the best teams to play another hard game. Makes getting that single first round bye a bit harder for an NFC team if you now have to play say, the AFC east, and you finished first so you have to play the chiefs too.
  10. I wouldn't look at a player like this as a safety. The idea is he's basically playing OLB, nickel corner, Safety... wherever he's needed on a given play. Sort of how the chargers use derwin james.
  11. BPA means... don't use the pick at 22 for a WR because of a perceived need at WR. It means pick the player you believe is the best on your board. If the guy can be a troy polamalu type of game changing defender who you have to gameplan for - i'm in.
  12. I mean - we traded a lot of players before contracts ended. If phillips, lawson, johnson and spain all sign market deals we'd be in line for a couple in 2021. Depends if buffalo retains any, or where the replacement players contracts fall on the salary scale. Would you rather cut murphy and keep lawson, or keep murphy and get say a 4th round pick in 2021? Targeting players who are cut also allows you to get your comp picks. Or trading for players that teams are considering cutting due to salary cap constraints. The only way it would work is if all 4 of our free agents sign elsewhere, and buffalo only say signs 2 big deal free agents. Meanwhile they extend milano, white, and maybe poyer. They'd still hit a net loss of 4-2. I wouldn't focus on it unless one or 2 get above market deals though. I'm not limiting my team because i might get a 2021 6th round pick. You won't get the 3rd unless they're in the top 10 of contracts, and they wont be.
  13. When he was signed though everyone said we overpaid for an injury prone former brown so... yeah - if his oline is the same as allens in 2018 i think mahomes would have struggled.
  14. The value of the 1.4 billion is mostly tied up in being in that specific club of billionaires. It's basically a hedge fund that is guaranteed to A- make you annual profit and B- guaranteed to go up in value should you ever decide to sell. Reinvestment into things like a field house and gym all do nothing but likely increase the value of your asset. A stock has no value until you sell it either. Bill Gates is worth 112 billion dollars, but the majority of that is tied up in hedge funds. These increase the value of that 112 billion, but in the same way - there's no actual physical value to it.
  15. They kept his offensive coordinator - and promoted him to HC. That guy then fired the QB coach. Seems like the QB coach may have had more to do with mayfields success than kitchens.
  16. I think just - another good running back would be ideal. I don't think they have to fit a certain style.
  17. Yeah - i assume someone falls down because of workouts, and others will jump up. I just liked both of those guys when i watched them play.
  18. Yeah - guys pretty good. Averages a little under 1000 yards, 6 TDs and like 70 catches. Has a catch% of around 68% with assorted QBs like Cousins, Keenum, Bridgewater, Bradford. Can play inside and out. Athletic enough to fill some of that mckenzie role. If they did it, Id like to see them still add a young guy to grow into a role here and compete with foster/duke for that 4/5 spot. Someone like a Tyler Johnson, Brandon Aiyuk type should they slip into round 3.
  19. It would only make sense if Arizona signs a couple of big name free agents and are in need of the cap space created by trading him. Purely hypothetical - if offered would you consider. I wouldn't seek out this trade in any capacity.
  20. Good - i mean good for burrow graduating in 3 years etc. But if his goal is to play professional football, why does the NCAA hold him back? There's no pathway to the NFL that doesn't go through the NCAA so... figure it out.
  21. It's stupid that you have to graduate to transfer and be immediately available. The idea was that if you were a good student, and graduated early or whatever, you could pursue a graduate degree in the field of study where it might make more sense from an educational perspective. Not - i need to transfer to play football and attend minimal classes to meet NCAA requirements.
  22. Ehhhhh 7 touchbacks lead the league. and he had the 2nd worst net punting average in the NFL. He was better than the mid-season replacements in 2018 - but i'd bring someone in to compete either a rookie or something. Considering how often we punt id even consider drafting someone.
  23. 51.5 minus humphries new deal, and minus rookies? What are their needs though? I assume they would like to improve on 5-10-1. Their best receiver is 37 before the season starts, they have one of the worst defenses in the league, and their best 2 defenders are 30. If they keep drake at that rate (which i would think is low), you have 2 running backs making a ton of money... and less money to use to actually improve your team. Trading johnson would save them 8 million in space - which if used right can be another starter or two... or you can use that money on your backup running back.
