  1. He'll fit in there. Good for him getting that deal after flaming out with Miami.
  2. Said top 10 QB's salary is about to go massively up. They also likely want to pay tunsil and fuller. I don't think it was wise to trade hopkins for so little, or at all. But i think i understand the reasoning.
  3. This moves fine to get cobb. The reason he traded Hopkins is A - he wanted a raise and may not have shown up. And B - There is an assumption that Watson will get 35+.
  4. I don't think their division is particularly strong. Tennessee went on a run last year but the second you bottle up henry that offense isn't that good. The colts are mediocre, and the jags will probably be bad. So... I don't think its a stretch to say they will be in the playoffs.
  5. I think they're still on par with tennessee. Colts are putting their eggs in the phil rivers basket, which i don't think will work. And the Jags are gutted.
  6. Reader would be questionable - since we're basically married to star for 2 more years. But if they split the snap counts 50/50 it might make the defense better. Harris i think is still a target. Just get players and figure out the 53 part later.
  7. Some dude named Jordan Philips had 9.5 sacks last year.. Murphy and Lawson combined for another 11.5. Lotulelei even had 2 and he isn't a pass rusher at all. Sometimes pressure leads to sacks for other players.
  8. Thats why good teams tend to not swim too deep in free agency, and put the priority on keeping their own.
  9. I don't know why everyones complaining. 2 of the highest paid free agents were Flowers and Brown. They also lost malcolm brown on the Dline. We signed... Morse, Beasley, Brown, Kroft, Long, Nsekhe, Smith, Feliciano and lost... Miller. Why would we get one? And looking back we'd say Beane what are ya doing?! But we made the playoffs... and both played a fair amount. Ducasse played 75% of snaps, and Holmes played both Offense and Special Teams.
  10. And all those teams lost players who got paid a lot. Its as if - successful teams are able to withstand the loss of top level players... Trey Flowers + Trent Brown Za'Darius Smith + CJ Mosley Landon Collins Earl Thomas Le'Veon Bell Nick Foles + Golden Tate Rodger Saffold + LaMarcus Joyner Tyrann Mathieu Sheldon Richardson They were the best free agents that didn't stay with their current team. The teams were creative about how to replace them. Patriots traded a pick for Bennett, drafted Winovich etc to replace Flowers, and already had Wynn on roster to replace Brown. Ravens went young in their replacements. Giants moved Beckham to accumulate picks and players to replace Collins (who was massively overpaid). Bell didnt even play the year before so.. he was already replaced. Foles was a huge overpay to their backup QB, and Tate was overpaid as the beckham replacement. Rams have moved so many picks its stunning, they don't play free agency, its more just madden trades.
  11. I also think Fournette is better than Gore/Singletary... and Chark/Westbrook are some solid young playmakers. Minshew came out absolutely slinging it too. Guy was completing everything and playing really well. He started to get a little shaky though, and just generally wasn't as accurate. Not sure if it was a "film was out" kinda thing, but he started to also have some ball security issues.
  12. Yeah - its possible they draft one? I know a lot of people like Dillon with his size. I just don't want to go into the draft needing one. If someone they like falls to a spot, sure - but i don't think it should be a position we're desperate to fill. I also feel like I'm done with Dimarco. I'd rather keep an extra WR or RB who can be active on game days. I hate when someone gets banged up and its like - well its the Gore show now since Dimarco can't play running back.
  13. He doesn't need to be power or speed. I think a 1 cut guy who can catch would be ideal. Howard maybe...? Mckinnon should he pass a physical and get cut would be interesting to add too. Still have Yeldon - but im concerned that he couldnt jump gore in the rotation.
  14. He's compact for sure. Not quite the MJD level of compact power, but he's tough to bring down for sure.
  15. Lorax played a little less than half the snaps a year ago. Not sure how many of these were as a primary pass rusher, but i'll assume a relatively low%. Figure another DE will be needed unless they bring back lawson. Same goes for replacing phillips. Someone needs to take those snaps - i think mcD would prefer a vet. If only to push some of the younger guys to play their best.
  16. Yep - i can't say much about a lot of these guys. I didn't watch a ton of clemson but from what i can remember 1 - he'd line up in the slot occasionally, so that tells me the route tree is somewhat developed 2- huge target for RPOs with huge catch radius for our QB who can be rather scattershot. 3 - Great contested catch guy 4 - beast in red zone 5 - hard to bring down. Specifically - I do remember higgins running over LSU's defense for a TD in the national championship. He didn't look very fast there, but he broke an arm tackle and trucked the safety into the endzone. He also got kinda boned on an OPI call in that game on a deep ball TD (i thought they were both pushing, the LSU guy just fell over so he got the call). I don't watch film, and I'm not going to say he's the guy or he's not the guy. Just pointing out reasons why he's probably a 1st round pick, despite his 40 likely being on the slow side.
  17. Before the last 2 years i thought he was like a "do your job" type of football player. Then i read his scouting report coming up and it basically read - DIVA. They also said speed wasnt there to be a fulltime starter, and he was too small etc. But they got the Diva part right.
  18. He's a good, not great player. He's a better receiving back than most, but he's 27 and has a ton of mileage
  19. There isn't a guy in free agency who is doing that consistently - its a hard trait to find. Rookies can struggle out of the gate at this position too. I wouldn't be opposed to a corner or hybrid safety if the player is right. Even a speedy linebacker would be fine.
  20. I actually agree with you. I still say BPA. Team needs stars and i don't really care on the position.
  21. I just don't know what is considered #1 anymore. Does he need to be tall? or does he need to be fast? Do we want super big plays down the field? Or are you looking for someone who can catch the ball and make a ton of plays. I think Jefferson could easily compare to a player like Keenan Allen as much as Landry. Baldwin... Adams... These guys aren't super fast or super big but they're super productive because they can a- get open b- good hands c- make contested plays on the ball.
  22. I mean - 5 straight pro bowls... averages about 90/1000/6. I think the way gase used him was probably wrong for his skillset, but he's still a good player. He can make plays down the field, has fantastic hands, active blocker, physical downfield and hard to tackle. He's not a true #1 receiver, but i think he's probably the best #2 in the NFL.
  23. Why would i pay gordon more? Ekeler is the better player.
