2020 Rookie of the Year odds
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably right - i think the bengals have some good players on offense, especially if they can remain healhty. Miami has a lot more new parts to their team too - Lots of new linemen and new running backs. I like parker a bit, but their receivers aren't great. Those big guys like parker tend to run hot and cold. -

Depends how condensed camp is - but if they get anything ressembling a full camp i expect tua. If not i expect tua by week 4-6 since he'll get 3+ weeks of practice time with the team. -
Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia

I think what i want from a backup QB is as close to a 50/50 shot to win. Like if the team is say 11-5 with allen, i would want the backup to get me to 8-8/7-9. Mostly because if Allen misses half a game, or 2 games or whatever - 50/50 is good odds. Our current backup is a 30 year old journey man who carries a sub 60% career passer, with no running threat, a 1:2 TD to INT ratio, and 10 fumbles in 14 games. It was worth it to try and improve the backup QB. -
Rd 4, Pick 128: WR Gabriel Davis UCF

And in a no huddle teams tend to get trapped in coverage mis-matches like this. NE would always do this and identify the mismatch with Gronk. -

Yea - 1000 yards even at a high 5.0 ypc would be 200 carries. Buffalo ran the ball 465 times last year and 109 of those were Allen. That was 6th in the league in carries, and 8th in yards. Even if you figure an even split of around 150 carries each between moss and singletary you'd be looking at 750 or so yards. Factor in the fact that Allen keeps a lot in goal to go situations (17 career rushing TDs), and it will be difficult to get 10 TDs as well. I hope Allen has fewer carries next year - that 60-80 range with most of the designed runs in the red zone, the rest scrambles. They need another plan on 3rd and 1-2 yards that is not a QB sneak. I would guess around 125 carries for Moss and like closer to 200 for singletary. Pass catching i have no idea - seems like either of them could fill that spot. -

CEH got put in a real nice spot. Burrow or Tua probably take it though. For defense i would guess young - he'll probably have more snaps and sacks than epenesa. -

I think Fromm might make 53 - in which case you lose murphy or johnson. Hodgins is a practice squad candidate imo - maybe someone carries him on a 53? But he might hit injured reserve in camp from a hang nail belichick style. Along the Oline i think bates has a legit chance to make it over long. I think smith sticks over sweeney who goes to PS. Bass over Hauschka. Leg and honestly, hauschka had a stretch there where he wasn't very good. I think Dodson has a chance to play his way on the roster especially with the addition of Matakevich and Klein. Neal is kind of a cb/safety so i see gaines in a struggle to make the team. He had some good moments here, but the injury history is hard to ignore. He's more an insurance policy if norman doesn't look good, or if him or wallace were to get hurt in camp. Marlowe as a big nickel makes some sense there instead. They're on the practice squad, you can activate them for gamedays. So if you have only say 6 olinemen ready to be active in a game, you could activate 2 practice squad guys for the game and now have 8 on your '55' man roster. They are not protected as it differs week to week. Sounds good to me. They can still go back to your practice squad again, but then i believe they have to clear, so someone else can sign him to a practice squad as well? I think? Wasn't very clear. -
The +2 are PS players that can be carried on game day only. They're still practice squad and thus must clear waivers, and are free to sign with other teams to be on their active roster. 7 is tough on the 53 - when you probably only need 5 on a gameday. Remember we may need to keep 3 QBs on the 53 as well.

I also always worry that romans like - over-preparedness tends to run them into problems. I still see them as a playoff team though. -

Baltimore is good - They should've played KC in the championship. That contrasting style would've been interesting to watch. I do think buffalo did a nice job when playing him. A couple big plays sunk them. There were a few games where he played like out of his mind, and others where the defense put him in really good situations. But man, guy accounted for 500 total yards in the titans playoff game and they somehow scored 12 points. 4 turnovers on downs, 2 picks, and the fumble. I personally think roman had a pretty bad game called in that one too. Theyre... fine i guess - but in an AFC with some relatively loaded rosters, they're going to struggle with consistency. Gase isn't a great head coach either so they'll surprise some weeks and beat top level competition, and fail other weeks against mediocre teams. -

Seems mostly right. I think Browns could surprise with with some better coaching and QB play. Chargers could definitely sneak in a WC if they roll with Tyrod. There's a lot of talent on the offense there with allen, ekeler, williams, Henry - as well as improvements along the oline. The defense will be good there if they can stay healthy. I'd also be concerned about losing Yanda, who was basically their best player. -
Rd 4, Pick 128: WR Gabriel Davis UCF

Gonna be tough for Foster, McKenzie and Duke to make this team. The 6th rounder guy likely hits the practice squad, but Davis will be on the 53. Duke made a few plays but he projects as a very similar player to Davis. He or foster may end up on PS as well. Gonna come down to camp obviously, but McKenzie's quickness isn't replaced by any of these guys, and he's a solid jet motion guy who's quick and hard to tackle. -
RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa

I like him. He looks like a guy you wouldn't want to line up across from for a whole game. Big dude, and while he's not fast he has some quick mean looking hands, which is a lot of defensive line play. I also like that he looks like he forces fumbles whenever he can. McDermott loves going after the ball like that. -
RD 3, Pick 86: RB Zach Moss, University of Utah

Reminds me more of Marion barber than the lynch comparisons he keeps getting on Twitter. Less of that huge jump cut. A bit of that Travis Henry contact balance too.
