Allen has stopped running??? Any reason
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's been able to harm man coverage in the air more than with his legs this year - in the past that wasn't the case. -
[Incomplete Title] Down 14 in 4th Quarter
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I remember its a win probability thing. If u score the 2 tds and kick xps, u cannot win the game. Going for 2 the first time gives u a 6 pt deficit, this gives u a chance to win the game. If u go for 2 the 2nd time, u lose if u don't get it. If u don't get it the first time u just have to try and get it again - which is the same basic coin flip as the first one. And if you make it on the first attempt, you would kick to win. 2 XPs gives u a 0 percent chance of victory on 2 possessions. -
Agree. Conservative calls could've put buffalo up 17 late.

Postgame Thread: Bills at Raiders
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couple of forced fumbles, big 4th down stop, held them to FGs when it mattered. They were better than they have been. Hopefully this helps them get some swagger back. -
All-22 Grades for Bills/Rams (The Athletic)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All that stuff messes up run fits, you also have the element of a very heavy PA/screen offense that puts the DBs and LBs on their heels. -
History was against him. Prospects with his skills went much later and did much less. Even against 2nd rate competition his numbers weren't great. If he had a Wentz or McNair final year people might have bought in more. Basically he was favre like 30 years later, when spread system guys are putting up 50 TDs. Hard to project.

Bills and Nickel Defense
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can do that like - now in hindsight. But to throw Dodson out there as a nickel corner with no practice probably wouldve had a similar result. You can make it a sub package sure - But now you're likely limited in coverages you can run as well. Man is basically out unless you think one of those LBs can run with Kupp. They were making adjustments based on where our guys were lining up on the LOS etc. We really needed a 12th man to screw with them a bit. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era

A greg roman offense is really built around running. Its a ton of formations, ton of looks, ton of plays. But the things i always noticed: 1 run to get in makeable down and distance. Athletic QBs work in that they can add a read to rushing plays. 2 condensed formations - easier to block for runs, plays work from either hash, outside man can still head to the boundaries 3 don't turn it over, sacks are better 4 vertical routes are run constantly to force teams to keep safeties back - thus opening up the run game again. You have to take the vertical shots at times since an 8 man box is almost asking to get attacked downfield. 5 A lot of the passing game is timing - out routes, hitches, comebacks - the ball is out before the receiver has even turned. So for those saying - he needs weapons... They drafted speed in duvernay and have brown, they have 3 backs so they can gash you with fresh legs. They have a boundary weapon in Andrews. A top level offensive line with stanley and brown. Only thing i think they could use is a better WR who can run more precise routes - but again, they have to have speed to be a good fit there. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For sure - but the twitter trolls who constantly criticize allen for ball placement didn't have anything to say there. The blame went to andrews only. -
Ford got his ass kicked in the passing game. Morse helped him here and there and sometimes that still wasn't enough. Allen is pretty good at shaking that free rusher. This worked quite a few times as allen was able to maneuver around and buy time.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era

Vicks best year was with Reid oddly enough. Built a structure around him - improv will happen, but scheme to the players strengths. Note - buffalo brought in dennison to run a west coast zone rushing offense... with a QB who holds the ball and a power offensive line. People were like andrews dropped that 2nd TD and all i was thinknig was... thats a TOUGH catch. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah - if the chiefs defenders could catch he may have a couple picks too. I also think the chiefs not passing on 3rd or 4th and 1 was a big miss. The ravens cannot stop your pass game, get the first. -
Is Josh Allen too good to be true?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my wife came downstairs after the rams scored and said "what happened?!" and I had a strange calm and confidence and replied "It's fine - Josh has got this" That to me was my vote of confidence. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era

Yep. Allen got 2 15 yard penalties... took a terrible sack. Hell the team gave up 29 unanswered points. But the guy didn't waver or let the team around him know. -
Gap Integrity & Tackling
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He definitely got caught in the wash too much, and caught up field too much. But the zone scheme was moving our guys and creating holes. all over the place. -

Makes sense, they play 11 personnel like the entire game - they also mix in no huddle quite a bit to force buffalo into similar looks. Not everyone's going to be able to do that, but they're one of the best at PA for a reason. -

I probably would - the touch passes have been on so far this year, but I'm not trying to give time to guys like diggs and brown to uncover. -

The ravens just blitzed the crap out of allen, and he failed the test. -

Tend to agree. There were a few drops that were drive killers, and his overall pocket presence at the end of the game was just... panic. The big thing that I noticed was after those drops? He's hanging his head, his body language is poor. I understand being on the field expecting greatness, but you have to exude confidence as a QB - a true field general. Cam Newton to me is a good example of this - he had his MVP campaign and honestly became a bit of a diva. -
