  1. Yeah - i don't want to speak for others but I can't say that I've always utilized good judgement when drinking. I'm in my 30s now, and hell, I still have friends who do this kind of crap. Probably changed for me when a kid i used to work with got in a fatal collision and ended up in jail for a few years. If you plan on driving - know when to just stop and say I'm good. Also know when to say - I'll get my car in the morning. I've left it at the bowling alley quite a few times in the last couple of years because it's not worth it. The DUI is one extreme, the horrible accident/possible death/jailtime is much much worse.
  2. I know several people who have had DUIs and it's safe to assume it was not his first time. I think the gun part is a poor decision, but it being texas i always feel like people have guns in their cars since its an open carry state. The unlawful possession is related to his being inebriated right? Most of my friends who had this happen to them did seem to turn a corner and realize that you know... the harsh penalties for DUI are there to protect the other people on the road. You aren't untouchable. It was expensive, and incredibly inconvenient (the ignition lock thing comes out of your pocket, this is expensive, can cost you your employment etc). There's also the serial offenders who will just - keep doing what they're doing. Hopefully he takes this whole process to heart.
  3. Reasons he can be a RB 2/3 1 - He carries a 4.0 YPC career average - not bad 2 - Has produced over 3000 scrimmage yards in 5 seasons 3 - Has good hands, this allows him to be a 3 down replacement if there's injuries at RB 4 - Is younger than Wade (Yeldon 26, Wade 29) 5 - He's still cheap at a sub 2 million dollar cap hit.
  4. Watches are interesting to me - but i dont think i have the cash to get into it. Trying to save for a house upgrade. maybe someday And jailtime.
  5. Does he have a copy of a check? Or was it cash? How do you corroborate the story as true? How do you confirm the money came from ownership, or Tomlin?
  6. They're calling it "bone" white, but it looks like an old faded jockstrap color to me
  7. Yeah - there's potential for big plays there but for the most part you just want someone who will secure the ball, move forward, and who knows when to fair catch and let something go.
  8. Nope - but when he was made eligible to draft in 05 I wanted nothing to do with him.
  9. Everything I heard from someone who went to high school with him was that he was a scumbag.
  10. Empty arena stuff kinda sucks. UFC works because it allowed you to hear a bit more of what is happening in that competition. It also works because watching 2 people fight, in any scenario is pretty entertaining. They had empty arena fights on the ultimate fighter, and it was fine. I don't think crowds at golf are crazy important, you could get some additional entertainment by putting mics on some golfers. As for crowd dependent, watching pro wrestling is pretty painful without crowds. So much of what they do is to get that pop. It feels like you're watching rehearsals. For actual sports, especially playoffs like nba and NHL, its going to be tricky to get it to feel... important.
  11. Klein can play special teams too. Id personally like to see that rookie make it over dimarco. 4 blocked kicks?! Dimarcos not even good at his actual position anyway.
  12. And after wade catches a punt and fumbles will we re-think the decision? Also - 10 punt returns is a bit of a small sample size (a little over 1/2 a return per game). Not to mention PR's are largely blocking related.
  13. Duke can go to the practice squad - teams are more likely to poach foster off the practice squad i think. We'll see what happens with Hodgins too - but Duke/hodgins/foster are all looking like PS candidates.
  14. To me he's the greatest player at the most difficult position in sports. 6 championships, 3 MVPs, 4 super bowl MVPs. Drafted in the 6th round, not an elite athlete or elite arm - he got where he is with hard work, determination, and a competitive spirit. I hate the guy, i think he probably deflated balls, but to say he's a crybaby and a cheater and thats the only reason for his success? That's unfair to him. The guy has fought with teammates, coaches, everything - thats a tantrum to you... but leadership when jordan does it? Guys still playing at age 42, not because he wants money - but because he wants to win. And i think he wants to prove that he can do it without the patriots after they basically walked away from him.
  15. They force a fair amount of fumbles - usually in top 10 in that category. That tends to result in about half recovered, give or take. That's something i feel you can control a bit more. More pressure likely leads to more INTs, but we had a lot of batted balls last year and i dont think we caught a single one - ball just didn't bounce their way.
  16. I mean - its mostly the rams problem financially. I'm sure there was some handshake agreement around ticket sales/seat licenses for chargers games that the money goes to the rams, but i remember reading that the chargers were selling like - nothing. The chargers problem will be negotiating whether they stay or not when their current stay is up, and where they go when legit no city wants them around.
  17. I don't have to use VPN to access the majority of work sites since we have instituted MFA to the majority of work specific content.
  18. I can't ever tell - i suck at time zone math. Plus its vegas so who cares ?
  19. I mean I'm sure there's parts where like - dropping a TD pass hurts more. or dropping a 3rd down conversion hurts more, since you went from expected points added of say 1 to negative? I dunno they never explain this stuff well.
  20. I mean - you're there for a few days - i don't see the need to stay there for 2 weeks to play in vegas and then in arizona. Vegas is a 6 hour flight, and I probably want to travel on friday - do my walk through early saturday and then lock them in their rooms lol. Catch a late flight home sunday night and take monday off. Back at it on Tuesday.
  21. Dropping watkins on a 1yr deal and gaining a 2nd + gaines, and dropping darby for a 3rd + matthews. Ended up helping acquire Allen and drafting Philips. Matthews wasn't good and we were in the playoff race and in need - a guy was available in the mold of the Demaryus thomas/Andre Johnson role that I think dennison wanted (and didn't get in holmes). They were still 100% a ball control zone-rushing offense, but the big contested guy on the outside for backshoulders was what they were looking for. Obviously he had the knee injury that basically made him part time for a month and a half, which didn't help with his contribution here. That he came in 2018 fat as hell was on him - but in 2017 i think the idea was there? I was actually happy when beane just cut him because it was obvious he wanted no part in rebuilding and wasn't putting in effort. This is the guy the panthers traded for: Rashaan Gaulden.
  22. They kind of explain it here - but its based on first downs and where you are on the field i think. http://www.advancedfootballanalytics.com/index.php/home/stats/stats-explained/expected-points-and-epa-explained
  23. Didn't evolve to this era. Buffalo also didn't really have the personnel to run it - outside of man cover CBs. They needed to bring in a real NT, and play dareus and williams at end. Hughes would need to play rush LBs. Losing Aaron williams back to back years was a big blow, but i don't think corey graham was what they needed at safety either - that was a big problem on the back end. They had no depth there either.
  24. I don't think he needs to get heavier - he needs functional strength. Explosiveness. Football speed. Pretty much all of that stuff is the reason WRs take time to acclimate to the NFL. All of that needs to improve, as well as mastering the position to the point where it becomes a reflex, not a thought process. How many guys come out and struggle with press coverage, how to use leverage to get open, blocking, play books etc. I feel like rookies can get overflowed with all this information about what they're doing on a given play that it bleeds into the play - they're thinking about what they need to do on a given snap, not playing football. That's why i think he ends up on PS or IR if they think there's a lot of potential there. Cant teach hands - and he's got those.
  25. I mean - All-pro safety James missed most of the year. So they get him back. They added Chris Harris to pair with Hayward. Added that rookie MLB from Oklahoma. Added Linval Joseph. All that plus bosa and Ingram. They were ranked 6th in yards allowed last year without James and those additions. They turned the ball over the 2nd most in the NFL while getting the fewest takeaways - a recipe for losses. Improvements at LB and CB, with james coming back should help them improve. The offense couldn't run the ball at all last year, and rivers was a turnover machine. They added turner and bulaga to help out oline, and even added kelley at RB. They did all of this - while still drafting a QB at 5 overall.
