  1. He does the same crap most young QBs do. Holds the ball, panics under pressure, and tends to have sloppy footwork. His sloppy footwork tends to lead to balls sailing. He has as good a chance as anyone else at improving - but all they added to offense was Graham and Harris. And the only talent they drafted on O was kmet. So maybe this is the year anthony miller steps up, but who knows. He'll probably lose the job to foles, and fizzle out and end up somewhere else as a backup.
  2. 25M AAV with 100 guaranteed Mack got 23.5 AAV and 90M guaranteed. (also a 3-time first-team all-pro - Garrett probably would've been one last year if he didn't get suspended). Clarks AAV is about 21 with 62 guaranteed. Armstead got 17 AAV and 40 guaranteed. Hunter 14.4 AAV and 40 guaranteed. Z smith 16.5 AAV and 20 guaranteed. TJ watt is licking his chops for his payday. Joey Bosa is also probably looking at a similar level of pay request.
  3. Yeah - they brought back irvin for a year, but i think having clowney would improve that rotation. Lets you bring along a collier a bit slower, especially after he basically showed nothing a year ago.
  4. Had a 5.6 ypc average and 10 total TDs. More importantly, when like no one else was available at the position - he put up 220 and 4TDs against GB. I personally wouldn't extend him until after the season. He wants to sit that's on him, but at the same time- he could be a late Bloomer a la Fred Jackson. You don't want to miss out on a guy that can help u win. Speaking of Fred, I watched the EJ Manuel drive last night and he basically checked down that entire drive and Fred and Stevie willed it down the field. Got a nice timely PI call as well.
  5. They dont have space - they had to work to get cam under.
  6. Tannehill completed 15/29 passes in those 2 playoff wins for 160 total passing yards - over 2 games! Not saying the team is bad, or he is bad - but he was a very small component of their playoff success. Hence W-L not being an entirely QB driven stat.
  7. I mean - dak had no GWDs and 4QC's last year... but he also has 14 GWDs and 8 4QCs the previous 3 years. Its not as if he's always just bad when the lights get bright or something. I guess you could put Matt Ryan ahead of him? Big Ben maybe? But I'd put him above stafford. Maybe Wentz too. I dunno the top 7 or so is easy - all-pros, MVPs, super bowl MVPs etc. The last few is a bit trickier and they're all probably right around the same spot. MVP award isn't enough to get into the top 10? Last year he was essentially the best player in football.
  8. Agreed there. Nothing he did last year was impressive. He's just as likely to become a good player as allen, but his stinkers really stick out. The seeing ghosts game was just, absurdly pathetic. 11/32 for 86 and 4 picks? Falk was 12/22 for 98 and 1 pick a couple weeks before.
  9. Their offense led the NFL in yardage a year ago, he threw for 5000 30/11 while completing 65% of passes. Yes the team has good players around him, but what is the criteria here?
  10. I grew up in penfield, and i always liked the similar vibe from Williamsville/East Amherst/Clarence. I liked OP but my wife didn't care for the commute up to Williamsville where she worked.
  11. Yeah - I ended up taking a remote job out of St. Louis, but I'm able to live wherever i want. Even with the large increase in pay, my wife getting promoted, i still don't know how people are able to afford some of these mid level homes that went from 250 to 375K in the last 3-5 years.
  12. A lot of re-structure bonuses in there too. Jackson, Goodwin, Jeffery are targets. Can push some base salary from wentz, cox, slay. Extension for barnett as well. But they're not likely to be players in FA either. Could be the year they eat dead money and reload in 2022.
  13. normally id be like - cool preseason sucks. But i am jonesing for some sports at this point. I was enjoying the XFL before that ended.
  14. Escalators, performance bonuses, opt-outs - lot of ways to build in some flexibility while also getting him a big payday right now.
  15. Except that he's probably getting a massive guaranteed bonus up front.
  16. I know a rams seat license in the lower bowl was initially 100k...
  17. I believe this one will end up being like 5 billion after cost overruns and delays.
  18. There's comparisons there though - uses his athleticism, not a tight window thrower, holds the ball sometimes, doesn't throw people open particularly often. He improved at a lot of this stuff this past year, and impovements to his WRs definitely helped. But i wouldn't say that last year the Bills WRs/TEs were anywhere near the top of the league. More likely bottom 3rd.
  19. Yeah, its like their bottom half mechanics don't matter as much sometimes because they have an innate ability to throw off platform. Mahomes and Wilson especially do this better than anyone. Allen's accuracy while scrambling isn't noticeably terrible, its more so when he's working the pocket and just widens his base. His deep throws also tend to be all arm, and he tends to not step into them. For whatever reason (could be reps, who knows), allen is not able to make those adjustments like mahomes and wilson while throwing off platform. What i want is for him to throw from the correct platform when he has that time and availability, too often he is way too wide. From a timing perspective he can be late a bit too much as well.
  20. That blueprint involves having really good safeties, and a stout rush defense. Now Moss also bleeds into that number. But when the goal lines there and your QB is a stud on sneaks I'll sneak it 100 times out of 100.
  21. Yeah - as is the case with pretty much every team in the last forever. There's the occaisional lightning in a bottle (Brady, Warner, Foles) - but for the most part you end up with guys closer to Charlie Whitehurst, Drew Stanton, and Matt Moore. A few teams prioritized it more this year - Jets, Raiders, Cowboys. But the jets offense was an absolute crater with the guys they had in there, so flacco's basically matt schaub in there - he gives you a shot. Raiders i think liked mariota to compete. Dalton was insurance in case dak didn't report (dak has missed 0 games since entering the league). In the 3 games without darnold last year the Jets offense scored 9 points. They also averaged 165 total yards across those 3 weeks. So i think there was room for improvement from - worst offense in the history of football
  22. McDaniels built an offense around tebow so I'm sure he has some plans here. Honestly since their offense is built around some new tight ends, and running the ball, he's probably a good fit assuming his legs and arm are healthy. A long layoff should help him there. Hopefully our rush defense is up to snuff because this teams likely to be ground and pound with defense. I think newton gives them a few things - Running threat, bigger arm (even with injuries i think his arm's probably still pretty strong), and he's just tough to bring down for sacks.
  23. I think you're thinking of troup. Either way. Neither did anything in the league.
  24. I'm not kicking 55+ yarders every time - some teams only kicked 1 or 2 times all year at that distance. But there's situations for it. End of half and end of game are the big ones. Would i like to be closer? Sure - but im not, and there isn't time or downs to get there. Missing in that situation isn't an end all be all from a field position standpoint. I need to know from 4th and 5 from the 40 that i feel good about the kicker making it at that distance to tie the game, or tack on points at the half etc.
