  1. Didn't realize bucs were at 12. Would be nice to see Tommy boy sitting out the post-season to keep that streak alive.
  2. This fits perfectly. We pulled his credentials so... we fixed "the glitch". Probably did it on a Friday... studies have shown there's less chance of an incident.
  3. If he had a lot of salary maybe it wouldn't have happened, but he's on year 1 of a rookie deal.
  4. Thats like 2 weeks from now... losing a fairly likely 2021 53 man roster candidate for no reason is really stupid. Odds are its not a really big deal though so whatever.
  5. You almost have to roll 2 QBs if you do that. Do they want to try and fit fromm on PS, or just try and roll with Webb? Where does Norman/wallace fit with johnson and white? It's a lot of depth for one position and leaving some others a bit more exposed. Looking at something like this if you carry 7. Total Active QB 2 2 RB 4 3 FB 1 1 WR 7 5 TE 4 3 OL 9 8 DL 8 7 LB 6 5 CB 5 4 S 4 4 K 1 1 P 1 1 LS 1 1 Total 53 45
  6. I mean - players will get moved. It happens every year. And 90% of those guys end up on someone else's PS later. The 3 week pay bump is huge for younger players on practice squads, and it gives you a chance to win a job with another team. Buffalo has a couple of decent WRs that likely hit the practice squad. But considering over 30 WRs were drafted, and even more UDFA's were signed - it's still going to be hard to find 1 of about 160 jobs. I do think PS guys with NFL experience - whether on a veteran or rookie deal - will be more coveted though. Most of these guys are brought in as injury replacements. If a team has a serious covid situation i think we're more likely to see a game cancelled or postponed somehow.
  7. We don't even have to sub out a hall of famer for Taysom Hill, we just run those plays with allen.
  8. Yeah, my buddy drafted him in our keeper round (10th round, goes in reverse order from the previous season's finish - get to keep the player for the next season), and i just sent him that and went oh mannnn gonna linger all year bruhhh He's a free safety though. Dallas makes sense - since clinton-dix would likely be playing SS.
  9. Ususally a team carries 9 on the active 53 man roster, and 1 or 2 on PS. To me it would sound most like Dawkins - Spain - Morse - Ford - Williams IOL Depth - Winters C Depth - Boehm T Depth - Nsekhe Protected 9th lineman inactive on game days- Bates or Boettger Depends on who goes down though. If williams is injured for snaps, do you move winters into RG and Ford to RT? Not sure. Thats probably what a lot of these practices are for.
  10. I did this exercise with Le'veon bells stats the year he sat out. They went from 10th to 6th in rushing, and Conner actually had a better Y/R and YPC than Bell the year before. Samuels and Conner both had a better YPC actually. Bell was first team all-pro in 2017. Conner did make the pro bowl in 2018 - but i think the committee approach is better than paying these guys. Just seems like you get similar production on rookie deals. Whoever can block better will get more snaps - Singletary has a 1 year advantage but he lost snaps to gore a year ago because he wasn't particularly good at it.
  11. I meant more experience at RG than Nsekhe. Which for like a depth role is kinda nice.
  12. yeah - tough though. Stidhams young so another team could covet him - think jax. And Hoyer's better than a fair amount of backups. Tough to stash a QB. Having said that I still think we'll stash fromm tbh.
  13. Thats a fair take. Williams has more experience at RG. Just depends whos starting where - you can't think about moving people without knowing who's even starting.
  14. I'd keep 3 with the injury history of newton. Hoyer is probably primary backup just because... hes done it before. Not well - but he has played before. If Newtons out for a stretch of time - then its a real question. But #2 on gameday for me would be hoyer.
  15. He probably sent us his workout tape, for that reason ?
  16. Didn't he report to camp? I'm personally not trying to bring in a guy on an expiring deal - unless he reports. And i don't personally want an extension with him either so it doesn't really make sense. Also - don't move the swing tackle unless you're really confident in daryl williams injury recovery and ability to play tackle.
  17. Since there's no extension the "more picks" won't be what they probably could've received beforehand. I like the player - 14 FF in 4 seasons is really good. His 4 last season would've lead the team. The only ? i have is - you sign addison and jefferson. Then draft epenesa. Now you're bringing in a 4th new DE in the same offseason while still having hughes? Is the need there?
  18. Yeldons career yards per reception is about 8, but in the small sample last year it was closer to 10 FWIW (the YPC is his yards per carry - 4.0 is usually the baseline you want to hit... Gore was 3.6 on the year). If Allen was super precise and accurate on those short throws like brees and brady, it make make more sense to incorporate it more in the offense. But being off even a little bit on those throws massively limits YAC. It's a wrinkle I'd like to see added though, just to take advantage of some teams that like to either stack the box, or play man with their linebackers.
  19. I think with improvements to the offense, maintaining a top 10 defense should get the team to the playoffs. I don't think they are #1, but as long as they slot in the top 10 they should be solid. They need to continue to improve at stopping the run, and creating harder 3rd downs. If the offense can get to bigger leads, it should inevitably lead to more takeaways as well.
  20. I'm not really too worried though at the same time. He was brought in for mostly run downs, but also because he offers some additional flexibility should someone get hurt. He seems like a do all kinda guy. He's played a fair amount of snaps for the last 3 years on the saints defense, and while they haven't been all-world - its a pretty solid unit.
  21. Burkheads not a FB, that was James Develin who was hurt last year and retired. Burkheads just a depth do-it-all RB who also plays special teams. Bolden's also in the mix, but hes mostly just primary special teams. White's the 3rd down guy. Michel gets most of the carries. I see buffalo mostly running the offense with 2 backs as moss and singletary - i don't really see either as a feature back vs. 3rd down back though. Singletary probably has a leg up on 3rd downs simply from having another year in the system, and more experience blocking. Taiwan jones will be in that bolden role, and theoretically yeldon can fit in the burkhead role if you think we need 4 running backs. Yeldon has caught more than 70% of passes over his career, and has a 4 YPC average. He's not killing anyone but I don't think you can complain about his role as insurance if one or both of the main backs is hurt. However if you look at the 4th back on the game day roster as a fullback/ST guy then it likely falls to dimarco or gilliam if they really like him. If they're rarely going to see the field on offense, then go with the best special teamer of the two.
  22. I question newton simply because of injuries and general wear and tear. Coming back last season after the shoulder injury, and saying it was healthy, he looked a mess throwing it. Combine that with a lisfranc injury in his foot, some back problems from a car accident, and just generally a style of play that leads to further injuries... gonna be a tough road. LJ won the MVP, i can question whether he'll win it again, but the guys arrived as far as I'm concerned.
  23. Trubiskey doesn't have the dynamic rusher piece to fall back on either, and he generally regressed from 2018 to 2019 statistically. A couple of really good 2018 games propped him up, and their defense went from #1 in takeaways/#3 in yards in 2018 to #22 in takeaways/#8 in yards. Still a great defense, but takeaway numbers are always hard to maintain. I think you can best control giving the ball away, less so taking it away. They also significantly regressed on 3rd down in 2019, which probably has as much to do with their poor rushing attack as it does with Trubiskey.
  24. I think if he has a trubiskey like 3rd year you have to at least bring in more competition beyond a 2nd year fromm and davis webb. I don't think he is necessarily losing his job, it just becomes a priority to upgrade QB2 with a player who has more starting experience.
