Top Drafting Teams in the NFL
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to JGMcD2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just look at the top of the standings. In the current NFL your cheap rookie contracts have to produce for you to win games. So those teams would be the ones who drafted well recently. -
Isaiah Hodgins designated to return from IR
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well you get 3 weeks to activate or IR. So if someone gets hurt in the next 3 weeks... He can come on. If not, probably hits IR for the year. -
Not if they think norman gives them a better chance of winning. Protecting players is all well and good for the future, but this team wants to win this year - gimme the best guys to do it. I don't think i've seen norman do anything particularly spectacular, but the coaching staff trusts him, and he'll probably start by the end of the year.

Agree - it was a great year for WRs too. -

Oline... defense? like even if it wasn't someone to help rodgers. What about making the team better? -

Love is whatever, i get it - find your next QB any means necessary. But why aj dillon, and why in the 2nd? RBs have decreased value anyway - but he's your 3rd string back. It wasn't even a need! -
I'm fine with bringing in competition at any position. I see the cut candidates as - Butler or Jefferson (probably not both - but it's dependent on where the cap sits), Morse, Smith, and Brown. If you release Brown, it's a big signal to davis/hodgins that they better step up. They offensive line currently loses: Williams Nsekhe Feliciano Winters and boettger is a RFA. From the rest of the team - Milano Murphy Kroft Norman roberts are FA. Milano is well discussed. I could see bringing kroft back - he's actually rather appropriately paid and has outperformed knox this season. Normans done unless he wants to play for league minimum. Murphy's for sure gone. This draft to me feels like it'll be heavy oline. A guard and a tackle in the first 3 picks. I'm personally reluctant to cut morse, since 4 players are already at risk of leaving, so it depends who is brought back - but right now its just Dawkins-Ford-Morse-???-??? I think the dline will get a chance to improve with star returning. They'll try and retain milano. Marlowe can probably come back for cheap in that big nickel role. I also think buffalo will look in the 2nd at those tweener LB/S players with plus athleticism. So id expect - OL S OL in the first 3 rounds. In the 5th I'd expect a pass rusher, a corner maybe, and depth.

Could Darnold end up backing up Allen in Buffalo?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a 3rd is a lot considering its a 1 year deal. Tannehill would probably be closer - tanny and a 6th for a 4th. Tannehill had better numbers and they re-worked the contract - so it cost miami 5 mill in cash as well. Darnold would be about 4mill if traded before camp - tannehill cost tennesse 2mil plus incentives. -
The End of Normal Bills Sundays As We Know It

1st drive: dropped first down turns into int field position at buffalo 16.. Possibly the worst start you could ask for? 2nd drive: TD yayy 3rd drive: WR false start on 3rd and 1... ugh. 4th drive: FG 5th drive: 3 minutes in the half and we use like 11 seconds and gain a yard. They get a big 3rd down conversion on a bad PI call on norman. 6th drive: Allen INT at a terrible time, returned to buffalo 12. 7th drive: TD yayyy Tenn then drove down the field, a bad Offside on epenesa kept it alive - they scored the TD. Then roberts fumbled and they scored another TD. Just poor execution - players maybe being too excited? -

Currently 2-5 in primetime/playoffs. NYJ loss where buffalo fumbled 3 times. MNF loss where derek anderson started on MNF. I went to that game, i don't even remember scoring 6 points. Dallas thanksgiving win. Pitts SNF win in ugly fashion. Texans Playoff game Tennesse - turnover fest from the getgo. 2 picks returned to our territory, 40yd punt return, and even the insult to injury fumble by roberts at the end. KC - Strange gameplan that kind of worked? Allen played his worst game of the year in terrible rain conditions. Seemed to rain less when KC had the ball for whatever reason.. So not great? But I'd throw out the NE loss since... that 2018 team wasn't beating NE on sunday, wednesday or any other day. 2 turnover fests with Tenn and NYJ - I'm not sure that's really coaching though. -

I don't really care for MNF - I'll try it tonight and see how i like the new crew though. -
Ok This Dolphins talk is getting out of hand.

They're 2-4 when the opponent gains more than 350 yards - which isn't even a particularly good outing by an offense. Buffalo was over that on 7 games, and 2 of the ones they weren't had some poor weather conditions. -
Could Darnold end up backing up Allen in Buffalo?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd think SF would be choice number 1. New Orleans would be in that 2nd tier with TB and Indy. He needs to go somewhere a- that he can at least compete to start and b- that isn't terrible so he might be able to re-establish his value. -

Doubtful he fetches much. 3 years burned on rookie deal - 1 left. If the NYJ eat the roster bonus, you get more value (he'd only have to be paid a little under 1 million if you trade him after camp starts... in a year where caps probably somewhat crunched this is likely the case). Assuming his 5th year option is not selected (you don't want it to be - 1 year at top 10 money) - you're getting him as a cheap rental. Not a potential young guy franchise QB etc. You just get the tag as leverage if he's good. Is that worth a 2nd rounder? -
Levi Wallace is Underrated
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zone corner is not easy to be good at. Its easy to hide a player and avoid getting beat deep. But on underneath stuff you have to be reading qbs and trying to break passes up at the point of arrival. It also requires good tackling. For being an Udfa hes been a solid player though. -
Flores: Tua benched, not hurt

My buddy was so jazzed about beating NE week 16. I said - they're going to lose to buffalo next week. Just wait. It will happen. -

Sat down and watched the entire game. Their offense is not good. Offensive line isn't good in pass pro or rush blocking. They have no speed or skill players that scare u. Tua seemed very hesitant. Its a bad offense. They did get 2 big turnovers to keep them in it. The defense tackles well, but they honestly don't rush the passer very well. They blitz a ton and were getting caught up field in rushing plays. Fitz turns it over but moves the ball. Tua doesn't do either. The team I just watched? I can't see them winning any of their last 4 games against kc, ne, lv, or buf. -
And they aren't a good rushing team either. They should win the next 2 as its probably the 2 worst offenses in the NFL in the jets and Bengals - but after that you're facing teams where you have to score points. So they need to figure something out.

After watching that game, I have a hard time seeing them winning any of their last 4 games. -

Figure it this way assuming teams split Both beat jets twice (would be amazing for buffalo if gase were to pull a rabbit here and beat them... i honestly wouldn't be that surprised - they've playedbetter as the seasons gone along) Both go 3-1 in the NFC so now both teams are 5-2. if they both split NE - thats 6-3 -- (This is a game buffalo can't afford to drop. If NE beats miami and loses to buffalo that'd be the ideal scenario for separating the teams in the division) Both lose to KC - 6-4. Say Miami goes 2-2 in the AFC west (loses to KC and LV) and buffalo goes 3-1. Miami would be 8-6 with games against Jax/Cincy and buffalo 9-5 with games against Pitt and Tenn. Essentially - performing better against common opponents might still not be enough - as Miami's 2 non-common games are that much easier. -

Figure they split and win the same (or buffalo wins 1 more even) common games. Who's more likely to come out ahead at the end? 2 games can make a big difference. -

Bengals and jags or titans and steelers... thats a pretty big difference. Its like a 12 win swing on strength of schedule.
