Brett Kern is one of the best punters in the league, the guy booms them. From a return perspective - stop taking them out unless you see something. I think the drop had roberts thinking he had to make a play to counteract it... and he fumbled too. Just a brutal game for him. BoJo had a great game punting. The 40 yard return was on the coverage team imo. He didn't out kick it, it should've been closer to a fair catch the hangtime was so good. The gunner who got there first struggled to get off his block and the other gunner was really late. He also flipped the field completely on a punt. FG holds do bother me but i also wonder if its being spun wrong by the LS. They all need to get on the same page. You don't want to have to turn the laces, you want to catch and put it down.

Le'Veon Bell signs with Kansas City

Yeldon's not a great pass protector. As a 3rd down back its kind of one of the things you need to do. Bell is a better pass protector, has consistently caught 80 or more % of targets ( good hands and good routes), and is comfortable splitting out wide and causing LB mismatches. Prior to his 2 jets years, he was a pretty solid back as well. -

Yeah - its just tougher to define a role when CEH has been largely pretty good so far. Buffalo would probably make him primary back as well as 3rd down. Singletary moves towards a change of pace back - and moss gets time to heal up and probably loses his role when he returns. -

Reestablish ur value is the goal. Only likely to get 2 year deal beyond this so... its complicated. Chase the ring this year and possibly cost urself money? Or chase stats to get one last payday? -
Why can’t Barkley be the placeholder?

Bojo is 4th in the league in punting average at the moment. Also refreshing - the teams only punted 12 times in 5 weeks. His 2 TBs, and the long return have hurt his net average some (41.1)- but hes also had 2 70 yarders with no returns. Even the long punt return wasn't really his fault - that thing was in the air for more than 5 seconds. Mann has a 37.4 yard net average which is near the bottom of the league. -

Practices are a lot more limited now which may have something to do with it. College is also limiting practice time so punters already have experience holding when they make it to the NFL. -
I love that he continued to play with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. Oh and they cut their best weapon on offense (that they had no idea how to use). What a dumpster fire of a team. Ravens game was a lot like this game. Turnovers (they had a few turnovers on downs as well) that lead to shorter fields. Tenn had 1 long drive against them that was pretty much the game.

Why can’t Barkley be the placeholder?

Special teams has basically their own practice during practice. The long snapper goes off with kicker and punter to do drills. To have Barkley do this would impact his ability to function effectively as the #2 QB. -
Seriously though, what's up with these referees?

The line is that guys legs - he's the line judge. he was past the center point of that guy - so he should have been over the LOS. My big issue was Lewan (if he's the left tackle). It felt like he would sit back on every passing play right before the snap - his feet would set back a bit and his hips would rock a bit back. Like every time. -
Weak, soft or just overmatched?

Thats man coverage though. Damned if you do damned if you don't. If i chase tanehill he can just lob it to the guy i just stopped covering. The key is to not let him break contain like that. -
All those premium picks on defense...

Drive 1 - Norman got beat after the INT. Drive 2 - 3rd and 20 and Johnson somehow loses kalif raymond for the conversion. They attack him again with brown. Then they score. Drive 3 - They dinked and dunked - but that DPI call was kinda bad on 3rd and 4. Other than that they pretty much attacked norman and johnson on the boundaries again. Drive 4 - started at the 12 and they got a roughing the passer call so... thats a TD. I guess i just dont get the edmunds hate. Seems like we should give more to norman and johnson. They stunk yesterday. -

At least he's punting well. The long return had nothing to do with his punt either, that thing was sky high and our guys couldn't get there.
