  1. They did a good job against baltimore. They have some good defenders on the line that can disrupt both rushing and passing. I tend to agree though, against KC teams lose that patience and feel like they need to score.
  2. I think the chiefs defensive improvement year over year is the biggest difference. I thought their secondary would be a big weakness - but they've been pretty solid there gameplan wise. They got beat deep a few times by carr in that raiders game, but they didn't let LJ or Allen get going in those 2 meetings.
  3. I'd personaly take some of the concepts of mcvay. Continue to use jet action from under center. Use diggs, bease, brown, whomever is out there. I'd also consider some more snaps to gilliam in I formations. Hard play action fakes out of that with boot options can cause problems for secondaries.
  4. Gotta play a 3 phase game. Special teams cost us the first meeting last year - that and allen getting hurt. Make the kicks, and execute the punts. Defense, they're going to run early and often. Gotta step up here. Stops are going to be about winning the LOS on early downs, and containing cam on 3rds. Offense, i think they'll go back to blitz heavy on 3rd downs so we have to have solutions for that. They'll look at what KC did and try and emulate some of that. Buffalo needs to be able to run the ball. They're a man heavy team, so if they start getting more zone heavy - look for a mistake or big play. I'd love to see smoke out there too.
  5. Just modify the NCAA one and make it your own. Take out FGs and extra points - force teams to go for 2 so you limit the coin toss having any real benefit. Alternate who goes first. Both teams go for the same end zone each time.
  6. Yep. Favre before him. U throw spread short passing concepts, WR protections, and more penalties for DBs. Id think favre would have an even better comp % today. The recent examples are bad - bortles, locker, Gabbert. So thats what people look at. Going over the middle in those days was like a death sentence too. Harder to find space with less defensive holding, less PI, more contact was legal.
  7. Yep - he's likely there 1 more year. If the cap goes down market value for the free agents go down. But 15.75 per year seems likely to be at least similar to what Robinson, Golladay, JuJu get on the open market.
  8. I said it to my bro - you clap after a miss because you know you might need him later. Gotta stay behind your guys.
  9. Buffalo was playing more aggresive against the run. Darnold was absolutely brutal under pressure.
  10. I know they're like - in the division race... but that defense stinks. I'm not sure I'm moving picks.
  11. Seems like Gilliam is mostly special teams so I assume maybe he was in a special teams meeting maybe? They motion Davis inside a lot to do this too.
  12. Being a coach is a lot of work - long hours and its basically year round. Being color commentary with one of the best play by play guys? Maybe he watches a few hours of film to get a feel for stuff they call and formations etc. After that its just natural - he sees it like they do. He's kinda gotten away from it when i watch his games now. But there's also that football player in him that can't help but say "get rid of it" when the QB holds it, or "Ball!" when someone fumbles. I think he's a really good commentator so... id rather he just do that.
  13. Like half their shotgun runs are RPOs. Thats why in that game edmunds is constantly late - he's playing the pass lane.
  14. Donald is undersized at 6'0 280. Yes he is very strong, as are many of the guys down there. Donalds got insanely good hands, and insanely quick motions - so he isn't really a fair comparison but i don't know that size is everything as a DT. If you just plug big heavies in there - yes they can anchor well against the run, but they aren't quick or dynamic to create issues rushing the passer. Now you have mahomes with all day to throw so... im not sure what is worse.
  15. At some point you have to question it though. They run more RPOs than anyone - and their linemen are constantly upfield. Which will inevitably open up space for mahomes to manuever, but also creates further defensive confusion. Why is the lineman able to run 5 yards up field to block the backer, when its a pass play?
  16. Yeah - if they jump Offside, you shouldn't be allowed to move. You know the snap count. If they touch you? Encroachment. If you snap it? Offside - free play. Thats it.
  17. Oof. TJ graham. A deep threat who cant track the ball and catch it over his shoulder.
  18. Gets to play OLB behind a campbell or wolfe though. So.. he's always lined up outside the tackles shoulder most likely.
  19. Yeah - like... edmunds is active. But he isn't healthy. Oliver same thing. Who knows about white. Milanos had like 2-3 different issues. Butler missed week 1 with an injury so he may be banged up. Phillips looks like a shell of himself. Either he's worse or still dealing with the knee.
  20. Yeah - the dline is a mess currently. They basically used butler at 1T with zimmer (didn't work), and oliver and jefferson split time over center on their snaps. That is not what you want on the interior. Butler can line up at 1T i suppose, but i feel like they got him to play next to oliver on passing downs. Jefferson brings some flex to being able to play end (no need with how bad the tackles are), but he isn't a 1T either. He should be playing 3T on run downs, and maybe 1T on pass downs - but it seems like butler gives a bit more juice to the pass rush. The big problem is phillips- they benched him for zimmer to play next to butler, and it didn't work. He got moved around all day on combos. They need a nose to play 50-60% of snaps (and actually anchor), and they need to be able to flex jefferson or butler to end as a run defender. Right now on 3rd and 2, 4th and 1 - they aren't capable of getting stops.
  21. It makes sense assuming KC scores 3. If they dont make it - you are down 7 vs. 6. A stop+TD now gets you a tie vs. a lead. You can still go for 2 to win. But 2 XPs is 90% probability achievements - 1 of 2 2 pt conversions gives you 2 coin flips. If you miss the first, i doubt a coach decides to do it again down 1 with little time on the clock. An assumption of KC scoring makes the math make sense, but from a win probability percentage 2 kicks is probably more likely to get you a lead vs. 2 point conversion attempts.
  22. Depends on the new coach. I would steer clear of QB "gurus" though - get a freakin leader in there. Maybe McDermott doesn't have buffalo in the super bowl, and maybe he never will... but the team is respected around the league. Jets are a laughing stock, completely rudderless, and devoid of any talent.
