  1. The cap savings is 4.5 million. It isn't even a lot of space. Don't get a comp pick either. You're sacrificing continuity on the back end for... the space to sign danny shelton or haha clinton-dix. Why is it milano or hyde? Why not milano or brown, or milano or butler?
  2. I'd tend to agree. Star's contract comes back on the books so i assume butler or jefferson is gone (probably butler due to larger cap savings and less impact on the field). More cap savings on hughes, but he seems to be better than addison and the savings difference is like 1 million. I also think the cap won't go down as much as we think - the estimate of 179 seems very low. You theoretically can just borrow from future years cap to pay for this years. Keep it static for 2021, maybe we get fans in the building and get it back to normal. Then 2022 you end up at like 205 instead of like 210 or 215.
  3. Murphys gone already. Why hyde - and not Butler, Brown, or Matakevich?
  4. I mean it makes him what... the 20th highest paid safety? I'd rather move John Brown, or Butler if space is a major issue. You save more money cutting butler than you do hyde. 2nd on the team in snaps this year, the primary center fielder/deep safety, can return punts in a pinch, and has experience at nickel corner. to save what 4.5 in cap space? I don't think you improve the team with the savings and fact that you have to use draft compensation to replace him. Huge risk to take 90 something percent of defensive snaps and give them to a rookie.
  5. Minshew will have a long career as a backup/fitzpatrick type. He doesn't have great arm strength, he isn't particularly accurate - but he's a gamer, takes what you give him, gets the job done.
  6. Tweener - plays soft, and isn't good enough in coverage to play big nickel. He doesn't have the chops to mix it up with a slot receiver, and he doesn't have the processing to play like a box safety. So if he's milano depth, i'd be concerned about his run defense since he isn't a heady player. Anything else and Im worried about his pass defense.
  7. Eh - probably signs a little 1 year deal down in tampa with his bro for 1 last run.
  8. Zona will be about tackling. They don't go downfield a lot, but the QB can move and they throw a ton of short stuff.
  9. Can't hurt to bring him in for a tryout. If he really is fat and out of shape then you just don't sign him. If you think he can anchor at 1T then its a sorely needed spot. Butler did a better job against NY but buffalo is missing that.
  10. Does anyone else just want to whoop them? Just up and down the field kick the crap out of them? Thats what i want to see.
  11. My guess is it'll be zone coverage a lot of the day. Whether they attack the short middle as they probably should? Who knows.
  12. I actually think buffalo matches up with seattle quite well. We have always had good defense of deep shots. I think containing metcalf and locket over the top will be something they are capable of doing. They need to be smart and disciplined with rush lanes against Wilson though, and contain their rushing attack. Seattles defense kinda stinks, especially their corners - so putting up points shouldn't be too challenging. How many theyll need to score will be the challenge.
  13. Depends what they do in the offseason prior to the draft - assuming they get pick #1. I think they make a play for Joe Brady and try and make it a desirable destination. Continue to rebuild the line - Thuney would look good next to becton. Try and make a play for Skura. Maybe see about getting beckhams contract for pennies on the dollar. Drake/Fournette should be much cheaper than a year ago. Lot of FA WRs - Fuller, Jones, Golladay, JuJu. Trade darnold for whatever you can get. Can dump crowder, fant, van roten, anderson, for like 5M dead money and free up even more space. Essentially - you rebuild that offense from ground up to surround lawrence with talent. That way you can use the other 1st, 2nd, and 3rds for young defensive help. You get mosely back, can draft a corner or two - add a pass rusher somehow. If they use their money right they can make it a quick 2 year rebuild and not ruin lawrence.
  14. Brady splits across divisions over his career. I don't feel like taking out 2020 so... Value G W L AFC East 108 86 22 AFC Central 1 1 0 AFC North 35 28 7 AFC South 34 26 8 AFC West 38 25 13 NFC East 20 17 3 NFC Central 1 0 1 NFC North 22 18 4 NFC South 18 13 5 NFC West 15 10 5
  15. 8 teams and 1 playoff game though. A different time, thats for certain.
  16. Cam seems to still have some arm strength, but he's actually struggled more throwing short. When he has to take something off he's just scattershot - and they have like no deep threats. I expect them to just hammer the run game a lot in this one. I think we'll see allen under center more. We run better out of those formations and from a passing perspective it can help him get more space and easier reads since its going to be more challenging to complete passes. 3rd and long, expect big 0 blitzes from NE since they need them to generate pressure and they trust their DBs. I liked what i saw from pass protection out of the backs - roll 4 wide on those downs. Expect NE to play disciplined rush lanes so Allen will have to stay in the pocket and make quick throws. Some quirks you could do would be to put Diggs in the slot with bease if brown is healthy. So you could roll davis - diggs - bease - brown across the formation. If they want to follow diggs with gilmore take away the sideline advantage in press man.
  17. Yeah, murphy's the other one who rotates on the left with epenesa getting reps on the right - mostly on early downs. He looked a lot better in this last game, he was shooting his gaps and forcing backs to adjust. Had a nice rip move on becton on the murphy sack too.
  18. He's always been a pretty good tackler. He had a nice pick this season, but he tends to play bail zone coverage a lot. When he does well he tackles guys short of sticks on 3rd downs. Another 3rd and 20 where i feel like he shouldve made a play though.
  19. I feel like he and addison play the same position so one has to move around, its usually been hughes.
  20. I believe he held a players only meeting for the defensive line as well. Good to see.
