  1. He'll be alright, i don't think he has a "great" season though. Teams blitz young QBs, and they are traditionally really inconsistent. They'll likely lose a couple they should win, and hover around the .500 area give or take a game or two.
  2. Right but it takes two to tango. If someone comes calling he can just say- im going back to buffalo. I assume he knows the plan here.
  3. Sure - i'm not sure anyone else can guarantee him playing time with an all-pro QB that he personally knows quite well. He also spent an entire camp here and feels good about playbook, role, etc. It'd be a rather large risk to squeeze an extra couple hundred K out of bufflao/another team. This is probably his best chance at a good pay day next year.
  4. I think the big challenge for buffalo will be how they deal with the blitzing nature of the pittsburgh defense. It ate them up last time, and they really couldn't run the ball effectively either. On defense, the front 4 needs to make some noise against a pretty average offensive line. The steelers have 3 solid WRs and Ebron is pretty good. Harris is probably an upgrade at RB, but the reason they were always dumping it off to JuJu last year was because they couldn't run the ball at all. Usually thats a symptom of a problem up front. I'm 50-50 on this game, Pittsburgh won 11 straight to start the year and faded down the stretch. But all things considered they probably have the best defense in the league (3rd in yards, 3rd in points, 2nd in takeaways). Their offense is probably better than last year, but Buffalo is fully healthy going into the game as well. Looks like a toss-up to me.
  5. Who would you rather have rotating in on 30-40% of snaps? Who would you rather have if someone took a bad injury at the position? That to me is always addison when comparing to johnson.
  6. I've watched him play, he has legit never blown me away in any way. 6th round pick for a guy i had not making the team? Sign me up.
  7. Because Addison is better than johnson today. His value is also lower with a cap squeeze in place around the league.
  8. 7th round pick - 2 years, 2 sacks in over 400 defensive snaps - and a solid special teams contributor. I don't know that you could expect much more than a 6th. 2 more years on the cheap, but he needs to make plays on defense to get any real payday. Buffalo spent 2 2nd's and a 1st on DE's so he had long odds to ever make much of an impact here during the remaining 2 years on the deal.
  9. He hasn't lived up to his potential, but he is not killing this defense either. He's a solid man coverage linebacker, who plays a ton of zone. He doesn't tackle with a ton off power, but he's a fine tackler. Insticntually in the pass game, he has struggled with RPOs and quick hitters over the middle - but that's also a reflection of the game being called. I was much more disappointed with the play of the interior dline and ends last year. Pressure came from blitzes, and they were constantly getting gashed through the run game. Butler and Jefferson struggled all year, phillips was bad and then got hurt, Ed O has been "fine", Zimmer made a few plays obviously but you could also watch him getting thrown down the field by double teams. Really need the interior to improve and i think the end's play will kind of come along with it.
  10. Man - Looking at Sanders last several QBs... What was left of Manning's arm Siemen Osweiler Lynch Keenum Flacco Garoppolo What was left of Brees arm Hill I do think he has potential to have a really solid year, even at his age.
  11. I always thought the conway park and surrounding area would be a good spot. You'd need to destroy all of the perry projects and buy up a ton of stuff east of the park to create parking. You'd also need to figure out a way to get overflow people probably from the outer harbor and riverworks areas. So while it'd be cool, its expensive to even begin.
  12. I think mckenzie would have to make the 53, then get put on IR so they could bring him back. Any of the guys like hollister and jones who can be cut and brought back will probably have that done so they can move guys like stevenson to IR.
  13. Yeah, Sherman is kind of waiting it out too. I'm not super high on sherman, but in a cover 2/4 zone defense he's probably solid. I don't think he pushes buffalo across the finish line in a game against someone like KC though - adding him (or norman, or any older vet who's available) would be more about getting to that game.
  14. It's a term for a kind of deep set cover 2/quarters hybrid. Lots of changes based on route depth, this explains it fairly well. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/7/1/18772914/summer-of-spags-2-read-coverage-rules-and-permutations
  15. Palms quarters is all about getting 3rd down stops. U won't stop them every time, but if u can stop them short of the sticks most teams punt and kick a lot.
  16. It's a PA heavy offense that limits the qb exposure. And he hasn't played enough games to be 38-12. In a year where the cap went down 12 mil is a lot. And no ones trading for him next year when he probably gets released
  17. Qb record isn't a real Stat though. He's also 24-8, not 38-12. He's never had a particularly impressive statistical year, and the offense was at its most effective when they ran the ball.
  18. And sadly this team needs guys for the game tomorrow.
  19. I am in Williamsville - a couple of minutes from 290. So I'd say 25 minutes maybe? Usually takes 45 to hammers just because of traffic in the morning.
  20. I think the issues I have are with the mask requirements and testing requirements. If the vaccinated can still transmit, then why are they tested less frequently and not subject to mask requirements and limitation of gatherings etc?
  21. He's played substantially fewer games than Trubisky, is 30, and will cost a team 25 million dollars for a single year. He's missed 23 games over the last 3 years due to injury. His playoff numbers are also a tad suspect. His healthy season - the 49ers had the #2 defense in yards, and 6th in takeaways with 5 defensive scores. They're also a heavy run team with the shanahan offense. He's a fit in certain offenses, but i don't think he's capable of taking a spot from a rookie or something like that - I'd say he's maybe a slight upgrade over mitch in certain offenses, but i'd probably put him on par with minshew.
  22. I think this is "initial" - then you IR a couple of guys and bring back hollister and jones as they don't need to clear waivers (or so I'm told).
  23. He also booted that ball in the titans game that set the tone for screw ups.
  24. Maybe down the line, they expand it - it's always about money though.
  25. They do still have the expanded practice squad.
