  1. If Daboll leaves, i see them calling Mike Shula. Carolina Connection, Erhardt-Perkins system guy, and did a lot for Newton early in his career. He's currently a QB coach so it'd be a promotion. He's a former coordinator, and he's not going to a new coaches staff where there's more pressure to put your stamp on it.
  2. Depends on the length of contract with McCarthy, but I tend to agree. It's stupid though, you know he's bad - just cut bait.
  3. I read this article (https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/news/zac-taylor-bengals-culture-problem), and all i could think was - you need a real true leader that people respect in there. And they don't have it.
  4. I'd include the bengals on the "in trouble" list. Seems like they have a lot of the same problems as other organizations and its probably time to start fresh.
  5. Nice. I refuse to pay for ESPN because i never watch it. Same with MSG.
  6. Yeah - tre and wallace would help consierably with their receivers. Feliciano was still out. Milano didn't play. John Brown was out. Players who played were banged up too in Ford, Edmunds, and Norman (came off IR and immediately started).
  7. Buffalo is fine. There is cap space there to keep this group together. You can release players, or extend others and push base salary out as bonuses to be spread over years. If the NFL doesn't want to adjust the cap - you adjust the contracts towards years with higher caps. The saints have done this for years.
  8. I don't know who i can see beating the chiefs when they're rolling. Raiders beat them with deep balls and timely pick that gave them the ball at the 2. So.. brown being healthy is super important for that one. Titans have a poor 3rd down defense. The blowout was largely attributed to turnovers and poor special teams. If roberts doesn't give them a short field on the first drive, or if allen doesn't throw a pick, 40 yard punt return. The roberts fumble in the end just lead to a larger margin of defeat but those 3 were key. Drives of 16, 30, 12, and 18 yards resulted in touchdowns. 76 yards got them 28 points. I think this team would LOVE a rematch. Pittsburgh - we'll find out in a few weeks.
  9. I feel like this is one of those positions where it can take a minute for them to show something. He's made some flash plays, just needs to be much more consistent - especially in blocking. He'll figure out how to find those zone soft spots in the middle of the field, and he's a load to tackle. I mean, he still has drops, but this season he has so few targets its hard to even like evaluate.
  10. No - but there needs to be some accountability. How are they evaluated? I know if you are evaluated poorly you don't get playoff games - but when/how do they determine whether to get rid of you, promote/demote, etc.
  11. The packers forced a fumble on trubiskey on SNF, and returned it for a TD. Not 1, but 2 packers pulled on his facemask. How do you miss that, on the QB... in the pocket... with the ball? They seem to have fewer like... 2 minute conversations before they make calls. They just walk out there and go holding on 77, replay the down. What down is it? 77 isn't even on the field!
  12. A lot of it is chemistry and ball tracking. Free play 1x1. Thats smart. The PI worked out, but he threw it up into double coverage. I don't know that that is a smart strategy.
  13. I feel like anyone can? Once you hit that 21 day activation window you either get activated or you go on season ending IR. I thought that was the rule, but maybe theres more to it. I know Sweeneys done for the year. Same with Ford. Phillips hit IR twice, so he's done. Milano should be possibly available against pittsburgh, but I'm not counting on it. Hodgins is interesting, but i think thats likely dependent on brown. He's in his DFR window currently, but I'm not sure they want to activate him and have to either carry 7 WRs or try and hide him on the PS. Dodson/Lewis should be available to be activated soon.
  14. They sat back it seemed. Both helped and harmed with some penalties. The PI was a big one, but there was also a roughing the passer on the 2nd TD drive, late hit on the field goal drive. Then there were penalties that absolutely stalled some drives for buffalo as well. Felt like the officiating was a bit over the top with the unsportsmanlike ones. A play got called back on a hold on dawkins that i just didn't see, but they called unsportsmanlike conduct on davis too.
  15. I mean... they play the bears and bengals. They still have cooks, cobb, and coutee. Duke/David johnson coming back. They should have enough to win those games.
  16. Knox is the incumbent starter for next year but I'd bring in competition. Who knows if sweeney ever plays again, and kroft/smith are UFAs. I'm not spending a ton, or using any of the first 3 picks. I don't care too much about their stats - knox's drops are the concerning bit to me. He also seems to make mental errors frequently when blocking.
  17. My brother ripped down all his bills stuff when they lost the 3rd super bowl i think? I was only like 6 and he was like 16 at the time... He still doesn't trust the bills. Also last year when they lost the playoff game I may have continued drinking into the wee hours and repeatedly said - this is the worst day of my life, why does this happen?!
  18. oh i meant like - a guy on the team can try out to snap, punt, kick etc. I'm not opposed. If a kicker goes down, you're likely to use the punter. NFL teams likely know this, and have their punters practice kicking as a contingency. The question is whos doing either if they both can't play? Methinks in the playoffs they'd make some kind of exception and let you bring a guy in and just test the hell out of him 👨‍⚕️
  19. I haven't smashed a controller since original xbox, so i think i've improved on my anger management. I also stopped playing madden so that probably helps too.
  20. One could argue too many weapons it seems. They need to look at it the NE way. What does your opponent struggle with? And gameplan around that. You got a 2 year window - its not the time to be selfish.
  21. McDermott reminds me of Harbaugh - who has a super bowl under his belt. Tomlin is 8-7 in the playoffs, so is Payton. Coaches i feel like should be in the conversation there are Harbaugh, Carroll, McVay.
  22. He did make a valid point regarding their offense and how its confused about who it wants to be. They run the ball well and play action with 2 TEs but then you have Godwin/brown on the bench. Then when they put all their WRs out there they run a very vertical offense without play action.
