Will the Bills Make a Pick at 30?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're right on the cusp of paying the QB though, and that means you need more players on cheaper deals. Especially along the lines. -
CBS Sports AFC East Offseason Rankings
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to AmishRifle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The jump from 2-14 to relevance takes some time. The jets will have a rookie QB and added 1 WR to the worst offense in the league. Defense stunk last year too. So i doubt they move much. I think NE will be more improved, and probably finish ahead of Miami in the division. They added a lot of talent to a team last year that honestly probably performed better than their talent level suggests. Miami will get a premium pick at the top of the draft, but their offense was pretty bad last year and their defense was really overrated. I agree on NE. I think between Kelce, NE's TEs, possibly pitts/geisicki, and then several of the TE's in the NFC - big nickel is an important position that buffalo needs to address. It's something you're going to see a lot of next season, and its something they need to be able to more effectively stop. -
Bojo to Rams (update - traded to Packers)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Bojo signs for less than 2.7 its cheaper to cut hekker. Its one of the worst places to punt in the NFL. He probably thought he could do better numberswise elsewhere. I know moorman had a nice career here, but he was clearly the outlier among buffalo punters in the last 30 years. -
Miami considering trading down from 6

I think you only do the trade-up if you're comfortable with a group of top tier guys. -
Miami considering trading down from 6

I think at 6 they can get 1 of chase, pitts, sewell, smith. So no matter what they're positioned for a playmaker on offense, or upgrading the offensive line. They also still have 4 of the first 50 picks. But they're a 10-6 team with 1 win over a playoff team (a rams game where they had under 150 yards of offense, 8 first downs, and 2 D/ST TDs), and 4 losses to playoff teams where they gave up more than 30 points a game and like 450 yards in each. They aren't a finished product on either side of the ball - and Tua needs to make a big jump for them to stay where they are in the standings. They need some hits in this draft too, as they really only have 1 star player in howard. -

I agree on many of the points here. 3 1st rounders last year, and ii didn't really love any of the picks. In a talented WR draft - and at a position of need - they didn't take one. I wasn't impressed with Jackson, and the corner they picked played like 25% of snaps behind jones/howard. If you have 2 good corners under contract for a while, why would you take another? By the time he has a spot to start he'll need to get paid. They also moved fitzpatrick (an all-pro) for picks, and didn't exactly replace him. 4 picks in the first 50, they still need front 7 help, they could upgrade at safety on defense. And on offense they still probably need oline help, and only have Fuller under contract for a season. If Tua is a hit they'll be fine, but if he isn't they're still a pretty poor offense and a turnover dependent defense that isn't great at stopping the run. -

And they're positioned well if someone wants a QB ahead of detroit/denver. -

It's also what Whaley did with Manuel FWIW. They still don't have much of a run game, and their offensive line isn't noteworthy. Parker/Fuller/Williams/Bowden isn't bad, and Geisicki is a good player. I think if the option to move down a few picks and get something else in this particular draft year - could be appealing. But to state that a WR/TE pass catcher is the biggest need is failing to look at the big picture. They currently have 2 coordinators this year so i have no idea how that's going to work for playcalling/QB development, and to me a solid run game is usually the best thing you can have for a young QB. Then on defense - I'm not sure they're as good as many believe they are. So while Chase/Pitts may make some sense and give them another weapon - I'm not sure thats 100% what they need at the moment. -

Also kinda difficult to really thump with a messed up shoulder. -
Same, i don't think i've watched anything bengals since the last time they played buffalo.

Who's your pick for this years Madden cover?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Cson76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a bucs brady cover might be in the cards tbh. Make up some of that money he's not getting with the team friendly deal. -
Geisicki, Smith and Henry in NE, Kelce, Gronk+Brate/howard, Hurst, Ebron - some good ones on the schedule this year.

Bills players you disliked
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Justin Rogers. I've never had a player induce as much rage as he did in that stretch of 2013 when gilmore and brooks were out and he was getting shredded by legit any QB/WR with a pulse. They cut him after gilmore came back with the club, but i hated that guy. -
Bills sign G Forrest Lamp

People get hurt and they want to push ford/boettger was the way i saw it. -
We don't really know the motive, but I'll say its hard (nigh impossible) to have any sympathy for a murderer. Undiagnosed mental illness is a huge problem in the world, and far too complex an issue to discuss on a message board. I see no reason to bring his NFL career into it, nor do i believe it was the main contributing factor. all retired players to receive free or low-cost screenings, preventive care, mental health services and orthopedic care at a new national network of top hospitals created by the owners and the union

Give me numbers back, since mine are based on kamara. Kamara averages 8.7 yards per reception career, and Singletary is 6.9. Thats 1.8 yards per catch different. Across 100 catches, thats 180 yards. His catch% is about 5-6 points higher so we'll say he gets 5 more catches at the same average and thats like 45. So 225 yards. Kamara's career YPC is 5, and Singletary's is 4.8. 200 carries and .2 yards additional per carry is 40 yards. That is 265 yards. Kamara had 16 rushing TDs - and NO led the league in rushing TDs. But they had 30 rushing TDs as a unit vs. buffalo who had 16. Buffalo had 40 TDs to NO's 28 passing though, and generally a considerably more dynamic passing offense. If Etienne has more of a red zone impact (an area buffalo wasn't top 10 on offense), then it makes a lot of sense. But if I'm having Etienne running into the same walls in the RZ as our current crop of backs, then I'm not super excited about him providing as big an impact.
-
I don't think he'd get 100+ targets in the buffalo offense, but i suppose its possible. Even adding in an extra yard, yard and a half across those thats an extra 150 yard. Kamara and CMC line up in the slot quite a bit too, which helps increase their yards per catch - but we'll assume etienne is doing something similarly. But basically take all the running back targets, throw in some of mckenzie's snaps/targets too and get around 100. How much better will he be across those 100 targets than the 3 guys they have? And will those yards impact the W-L column. Same for carries and additional yards - say he gets 5 YPA and singletary gets 4.2. Across 200 carries that 160 yards. Best case scenario we're adding around 3-400 yards. I think they could stand to improve in the red zone, so if his value falls there that helps make a greater impact. And at the same time look at whether he will be the impact player to put you over the top against top 5 competition in the playoffs. I personally think the defense needs more of an infusion of talent to stop KC than we need a running back.

Falcons shopping Pick #4
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very true - if you can sit at 8 or 9 or wherever they pick and get him. Moving up in the top 10 is expensive. Depends who goes at 3 I think too. -

I would wait. I haven't seen much from lock, but do you really want the 4th best QB in the class? Lawrence, Wilson, ????. I think 49ers take Lance? But it could be fields or Jones I guess. -

I think DT/DE is possible and needed. As well as CB. Oline depth is also something to build upon. Safety could use some youth or a "big nickel". Probably not all roster players necessarily right out of the gate, but
