  1. Clearly pressure has been an issue so far this year. The big difference to the raiders vs bills against Pitt? Carr hit on the deep ball to ruggs, and buffalo missed on their big deep shot. That and the blocked punt.
  2. He came out in the second half and put them up 3 scores. They had the ball up 3 scores or more every time after that, the running game kind of takes over then.
  3. They had the ball 4 times in the 2nd half and scored 21 points.
  4. I thought he played fine in the 2nd half. They scored on 3 of 4 possessions, and had short fields. Nice td to knox... big play to diggs. Took what they gave him underneath. Great drive to come out in the 2nd half too.
  5. Hated the int. That play wasn't there and he had time to move and find something else. He underthrew diggs on a should be td before half, but the timing was good. One to Mckenzie was late. Miami called a decent game here defensively but they got hammered on short fields. The good news is, he played well in the 2nd half, we just didn't have the ball a ton. He shredded them on that drive to go up 21-0.
  6. I just take a day. Usually the insane doom and gloom is over after that.
  7. Even with the roman offense we did, and a lot of that was shady.
  8. Fact is we have a very high percentage of runs that go for no gain or a loss of yards. That always seems like a line issue.
  9. Dawkins missed a ton of camp, was also essentially hospitalized with an illness and supposedly lost a fair amount of weight and strength to anchor. If he doesn't improve, and fast, i have to consider giving spencer brown snaps.
  10. They were blitzing a ton in that one. They went away from the deep crossers and into some more timing based stuff to beat their man coverage
  11. Yeah - and if you don't even have a back back there to keep them honest all you're left with is allen QB draws when you check out of a pass. And I like Allen as a runner, but running backs are shiftier, have a lower center of gravity, and generally are made to take that punishment.
  12. Margins are thin in this game. A couple great pitchers can drag a mediocre team far. A hot goalie props up a mediocre hockey team. In the NBA a star or two definitely gets you to the playoffs every year easy. A great QB i think is what wins you more close games than you lose, but a bad defensive team usually doesn't go far. 7 teams make it now with the 3 wildcard games. Buffalo has a good QB. Buffalo has talented playmakers. Buffalo has a solid if unspectacular defense. They should be in the playoffs. The locker room is pretty tight so they know what they need to do. Gotta get to 10 wins.
  13. I feel better about this one than last week. I hate seeing pittsburgh on the schedule, but it comes with the territory if you win your division. Miami we have done pretty well against, young QB. Could we lose? Of course. But I still have faith in that 4th quarter josh if we need him.
  14. Especially if you rotate mckenzie in. read options to singletary and mckenzie coming across for the pass. Or you have him follow for a pitch. Make them pack the box more.
  15. Even shotgun play action, RPO stuff. They were light boxes all game and u can scheme a little space in those shallow zones over the middle.
  16. I know some 40 yards of it was pure garbage time - but Buffalo put up 371 yards and 22 First downs against them. That would've been the 3rd highest yardage total in 2020, and 3rd highest number of first downs. 0 300 yard passing offenses given up in 2020 as well. Pittsburgh was 3rd in yards, 3rd in points allowed, 2nd in takeaways, 1st in sacks and sack rate, 1st in pressure rate, fewest in YAC allowed, 1st in comp% allowed, 1st in QB rating allowed... you get the idea. All that to me probably adds up to the #1 in DVOA.
  17. The bucs were frauds last year too after week 1. Everyone was saying brady made a mistake signing in Tampa.
  18. I hate that PI call on Levi. I get why you call it, but essentially you let the receiver climb all over the DB to get to back shoulder throws like that. So if he throws deep, claypools got a step and is open, and if he throws behind him, you draw a PI. Levi didn't initiate contact, he basically continued running and put hands up as claypool jumped. That's a 3rd down that they got 26 yards on. Then they call holding on that pick? When the Pitt receiver runs into tre? If he doesn't touch him there he's just giving up a catch. It's ridiculous, let them play football here. This took a turnover off the board. Almost every scoring drive in the 2nd half had an assist by a defensive penalty, and they got burned on a reverse (again...)
  19. Yea, definitely a consideration. But on the other hand, it creates gaps in the zones that they needed.
  20. I know he sold East resources, and corresponding assets in like 14 and 2017. But i think he still owns 2 other companies. He's probably drilled a bunch of them 😆
  21. I watched the game. I didn't feel the team was capable, but that doesn't mean its over man. I've played football, crazy stuff happens all the time. They weren't in some crazy prevent defense, they didn't try and run the clock out with a 2 score lead or something on their last possession. It was very much still a game.
  22. Just saying - even kicking, it became a 1 score game. Garbage time implies there is no way they come back. It was a 2 score game with 9 minutes left - they scored on the drive. If they got the ball back they can tie the game. Nothing that happened on preceding drives should have any bearing on the remainder of the game. All it takes is one mistake, one player making a play etc. and its a tie game. I'm open to whatever, Daboll says he calls the game based on the opponent. They were sitting in zone, get moving running into it until they adjust. Instead we have our linemen pass block on 8 QB draws. I feel like some of the other runs were trap runs as well, there wasn't anything power or inside/outside zone.
  23. 20-10 with 10 minutes left isn't garbage time to me. He had 7 carries into the 4th quarter, and Breida had 2. 51 pass attempts, 3 sacks, I think 1 of the runs was a scramble. so actually 55 pass plays vs 24 run plays. So about 70/30 pass run split, and 33% of the runs were designed QB draws. That adjustment can help open up things though. If they're bringing LB's and S's closer to the LOS, you can create space behind them. I think we were shocked with how much zone they ran, and how much pressure they got simply with their front 4. This team blitzed and manned up a year ago, and we came in with a game plan of spreading them out to create mismatches. Instead they sat in zones and tackled really well. Pittsburgh blitzed once, and pressured allen 20 times. There were some screen calls, but not enough imo - I know allen missed beasely on the one, but I'd have liked to see more here. Buffalo ran 8 PA plays total in the game. Play action can create space in the zones. Missed opportunity there as well.
  24. That TE seam route big play was def all milano, he cheated up on a run and lost depth
  25. It was a tight game that was blown open by a blocked punt. Last season it was a tight game blown open by a pick 6. The season before it was a tight game, a 22 yard punt and tre pick gave buffalo field position for buffalo to score - and it still took buffalo stopping duck hodges twice in the last 5 minutes and 2 redzone picks to win that game. I just look at it like its two teams that are fairly well matched in what they try to do. Our weakness meets their strength and vice versa.
