Turning Point in the Game
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 2nd PI was basically the same as the gabe davis one. He was holding when the ball was in the air. -
New TJ yeldon? Hey - at the very least they're worth some money.

Kelce had to swim off the line every single snap. And if he didn't, it was a simulated pressure so there was likely a corner or LB blitzing from somewhere else (they looped some of these LB and corner blitzes inside which i thought created more confusion). David + White are also a really poor matchup for Kelce too - There's nowhere to motion him to get an easier matchup. They tried stacking him behind hill to create more of a free release, but then they were struggling with protection since you didn't have Kelce to chip. Essentially it was light boxes, and better pass rush. But while CEH made some plays - them being in a hole/getting away from the run, and being unable to execute on 3rd down doomed them. Mahomes hurt them in man coverage a few times in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half he was absolutely shellshocked.

Or make them use the timeout they had... which they wouldn't have had later after the fournette completion. Probably a 4 point mistake. -
My off-season plan

I think going into the covid year - you wanted cohesion. They made some changes along the dline, and added a couple pieces on oline - but you didn't want to make these sweeping wholesale changes across the team. -
A complete offense matters

In this economy? 8 would be high to me. Gordon got 2yr 16 last year (with a higher cap), after almost 1000 yards and 10 TDs the previous year. I'd guess maybe 6. Either way, possibly still too rich. -

The defense got a pass rusher? But its the same DBs and no milano. -

Whos the MLB if edmunds moves? Also - from a run fits perspective, it doesn't really matter who the MLB is. If Edmunds isn't manning the center zone in cover 2/cover 4 - who is? Klein? Also, rookie TEs tend to do nothing and the veteran TE market is garbage. Buffalo would have 3 running backs - with we'll say best case scenario of 350 carries. The offensive line is exactly the same, or probably worse. Special teams loses a ton of snaps as well. -

Shaq Barrett should have won MVP not Brady
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do against KC so you don't get the hell blitzed out of you on 3rd and long. It helps having a TE like gronk that you can run in 11. If they wanna play their 6 DBs that means you have a DB matched up with him 1x1. They also did that same play we did where you leak the TE out and have the iso Wr block - and it works so much better when gronk just trucks the DB there. -

All well and good - but brady was in complete control. The end of half TD followed by the drive after KC scored to bring it 21-9 were just complete game changers. Forced KC to be one dimensional, and I felt like if they needed to score more they would have. -
Is The Answer @ DE Already On The Team?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See in today's nfl I don't know that you need those guys. Players on both lines have become more athletic, and those that are 1Ts tend to be quicker than they used to be. Even pure nose tackles like brandon williams are sub-350 and deceptively athletic. -
SI.com Now Subscription-Only
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know you'd probably get the magazine at that monthly. But who reads magazines? By the time its delivered thats not even a hot topic anymore. The athletic is more of what i think people want nowadays - regular real-time content around your specific teams. -
I'd say he was overpaid. Of the signings on the definsive line though I'd say he had the greatest impact. As for Atkins - im not going to lie and say ive watched the bengals play at all. Could be mis-cast in the defense, obviously 2020 was an injury wash year. Played for years with thomas too, and vegas has a bit of a need for leadership and a center fielder. He certainly has the size for the position.
