  1. I think they're doing a better job evaluating traits vs. productivity. This draft they seemed to do a bit of a 2017 type reset draft with a focus on senior bowl players and leadership. Bishop, Carter, Davis, Ulofoshio, Solomon were all senior bowl players and all seemed to carry some level of leadership pedigree. I don't think EVERY player needs to display that, but losing a ton of vocal leadership you developed since 2017 made it a priority to replace some of that.
  2. Buffalo did in 2018 - Allens rookie year: Dawkins - Ducasse - Bodine - Miller - Mills Allens second year: Dawkins - Spain - Morse - Feliciano - Ford The list of random dudes playing guard here is long and mostly bad. But they seemed to prioritize getting young talent at the position the last couple seasons with torrence, and have utilized the practice squad to develop some home grown talent in players like Van Demark and Anderson. They drafted a future piece at center, and another at tackle
  3. I'd re-sign all 3 and Groot. Bernards a team captain who makes a number of splash plays, has a great understanding of the game, and plays his best ball in the end of games. Shakir's a great slot WR. He's like 20th in yards (pre-bye week), and he doesn't get much in the end zone. Kirk/Jeudy's 18Mish AAV seems logical and fair for both parties. Benford is going to get a big payday and i hope its here. He's physical in coverage, a good tackler, and has been starting here 3 years now. Interested to see what happens opposite him, as i don't see it being Elam. Douglas has been solid here so i could see a short term extension that has an out once benfords money hits the cap in 2026. Lets you draft some additional potential replacements in 2025.
  4. Or at least have a guy run a tablet out to him?
  5. I'm going to guess the guys who are playing in different spots (hollins and Samuel), and the PS guys
  6. The judge required to call that penalty on the hit to burrows head is behind him. He doesn't see the front of burrows face. The ball was out, and it didn't affect the throw. Ref's don't want to call a penalty on one of the last plays of the game if it doesn't really affect the end result. The ref required to call the "hold" on gesicki (i put it in quotes because its making rounds on twitter), is called by a back judge in the end zone. From what he saw (the back of ravens jersey), gesicki was pressed at the line and couldn't get through it. His dramatic attempt after to try and get a call doesn't resonate with the ref, because A - I don't want to call a ticky tack foul on a 2 point conversion at the end of the game, and B - He never once turned and even looked for the ball.
  7. Same as Keon, but those are some vastly different targets. It does feel like whenever he dirts one or on any of those low throws have all been going to him too.
  8. Pretty much all the last 4 or 5 games have been close, and most of those denver teams were pretty lousy (though they did beat us last year fwiw).
  9. Divisional games are always a little different.
  10. I don't know that he starts over anyone right away, but with edwards gone there's a spot. Cine is the only safety on the PS and he's learning linebacker from what i understood. I'm not sure what any of that means for Ingram, who i guess is also potentially depth there.
  11. I think he's fine with the ball in his hand. But he isn't athletic enough to get the ball down the field, and i'd rather throw short passes to players like shakir and coleman who are more dynamic - which also allows him to block which is pretty much the one plus attribute he has. Definitely limited, and definitely going to struggle with man coverage but every team has guys like this. We just happen to start ours and play him more often - which i think is by design with how much we run and execute quick boundary throws. After adding cooper i dont think they have designs on using him as frequently, but Injuries force teams to make adjustments.
  12. 3 TDs is kinda nice though.
  13. I do think catch% is important, and i do think Kincaid needs to be better than he has played so far. I also think he has been thrown by far the highest number of uncatchable passes. On the plus side, we all know he's capable of better and the team is 7-2 with him not having played particularly well.
  14. You have to evaluate it with average depth of target. Also - the amount of uncatchable targets.
  15. I'd probably say cowboys or bust. Jerry's gonna want to make a splash after this crap year. Probably makes you the highest paid HC in the league. HC for one of the most valuable and prestigious teams in the league. A QB - say what you want about dak but he's better than every other likely opening
  16. I'd say the dolphins probably have the best shot? At least for next year. Patriots lack homegrown talent. Offensive line is weak. They added a couple nice WR pieces, but its still not good. Defensively Gonzalez seems to be a player, but the front 7 lacks impact players. Free agency and trades can fill some gaps, but when your homegrown talent isn't good, you end up with depth issues a top heavy roster, and a lack of high caliber players. Jets will go as far as rodgers takes them. I'm not sure anyone wants to see him in a jets uniform next year and his contract is pretty catastrophic the next 2 seasons whether he plays or not. They have a number of older players, and their younger players are running out of cheap seasons on their contracts. If you're sauce gardner, do you want to re-sign with the Jets knowing there isn't a future plan at QB? Same thoughts will happen for Wilson, Hall, Vera-tucker, etc.
  17. As at least a fill-in for smoot i like this a lot. If smoot can get healthy and off IR then it potentially becomes a roster decision, but he has to get healthy. Not gonna worry about that until it happens though, as its pretty likely another player gets hurt in the meantime. I thought he played well with the jets last year. They kept solomon thomas, added kinlaw and both have been subpar as replacements for Jefferson and Franklin-Myers.
  18. I'd say dawkins and brown occaisionally cut it pretty close. I thought hopkins/mahomes best connection should've been picked off. Floated it directly into the safeties zone and he waited for it instead of going and getting it.
  19. I think their defense was a tad overrated going into the year. I felt like franklin-myers was a big loss for them, same as jefferson. Teams that can run the ball are less likely to have turnovers, and their run defense went from good to poor in a years time.
  20. As of now - the majority of the expected openings are terrible. Saints is probably the worst because of their cap situation. Jets isn't far off, bad cap, and either stuck with rodgers or have no QB. NYG might open up - no QB. Browns - stuck with watsons terrible deal, worst owner in NFL Bears - They have never had a good QB, and you're messing wtih like 100 years of history if you think you're the guy who can fix that Raiders - no qb and unless brady can turn it around, poor ownership Cowboys - have to deal with jerrah Jags - Probably the most interesting
  21. I think they go with a former HC next so maybe they can get more than one year 🙂
  22. Most players on the team earned their playing time - Edwards moved from 6th OL to starting LG. Lewis and Ingram were udfa practice squad guys who have become valuable depth pieces despite their perigree. Hamlin has been a backup for 3 years. Rapp was brought in a year before starting. Bernard sat a year. Williams. Shakir. Hamlin. A core of players who earned their jobs makes it easier imo to incorporate new blood like Douglas and cooper. Doesn't always work. But it helps with building a team, a roster, a program etc.
  23. Makes sense - i just thought it'd be a little strange having someone play SNF and TNF in the same week.
  24. In the terms of back to back timeouts to ice a kicker it's still 15 yards and unsportsman like conduct: Item 4. Unsportsmanlike Conduct. An attempt to call an excess team timeout, or to call a second timeout in the same dead ball period, by Team B in an attempt to “freeze” a kicker, shall be ignored and is unsportsmanlike conduct even if inadvertently granted (See 12-3-1-v). The timeout will be charged if inadvertently granted. This will apply to field goal or Try attempts.
  25. It would also make 3 SNF games for each team, which seems excessive for a specific time-slot. 18 games all season and you'd have 5 games with either the Bills or Chiefs playing in it. Buffalo is also hosting SNF 2 weeks later, which would mean collinsworth in buffalo 2 weeks out of 3. Steelers play on the road TNF week 12, so it doesn't seem likely that they play the 2nd to last game one week, and the earliest game the next week.
