Justin Rogers. I've never had a player induce as much rage as he did in that stretch of 2013 when gilmore and brooks were out and he was getting shredded by legit any QB/WR with a pulse. They cut him after gilmore came back with the club, but i hated that guy.

I put numbers to explain and compared the best pass catching back in the NFL to compare. Are you saying Etienne will have a greater yards per carry, yards per catch, and catch % than Kamara? Despite buffalo having no pro bowl linemen on the roster.

Give me numbers back, since mine are based on kamara. Kamara averages 8.7 yards per reception career, and Singletary is 6.9. Thats 1.8 yards per catch different. Across 100 catches, thats 180 yards. His catch% is about 5-6 points higher so we'll say he gets 5 more catches at the same average and thats like 45. So 225 yards. Kamara's career YPC is 5, and Singletary's is 4.8. 200 carries and .2 yards additional per carry is 40 yards. That is 265 yards. Kamara had 16 rushing TDs - and NO led the league in rushing TDs. But they had 30 rushing TDs as a unit vs. buffalo who had 16. Buffalo had 40 TDs to NO's 28 passing though, and generally a considerably more dynamic passing offense. If Etienne has more of a red zone impact (an area buffalo wasn't top 10 on offense), then it makes a lot of sense. But if I'm having Etienne running into the same walls in the RZ as our current crop of backs, then I'm not super excited about him providing as big an impact.

I don't think he'd get 100+ targets in the buffalo offense, but i suppose its possible. Even adding in an extra yard, yard and a half across those thats an extra 150 yard. Kamara and CMC line up in the slot quite a bit too, which helps increase their yards per catch - but we'll assume etienne is doing something similarly. But basically take all the running back targets, throw in some of mckenzie's snaps/targets too and get around 100. How much better will he be across those 100 targets than the 3 guys they have? And will those yards impact the W-L column. Same for carries and additional yards - say he gets 5 YPA and singletary gets 4.2. Across 200 carries that 160 yards. Best case scenario we're adding around 3-400 yards. I think they could stand to improve in the red zone, so if his value falls there that helps make a greater impact. And at the same time look at whether he will be the impact player to put you over the top against top 5 competition in the playoffs. I personally think the defense needs more of an infusion of talent to stop KC than we need a running back.

Very true - if you can sit at 8 or 9 or wherever they pick and get him. Moving up in the top 10 is expensive. Depends who goes at 3 I think too.

I think DT/DE is possible and needed. As well as CB. Oline depth is also something to build upon. Safety could use some youth or a "big nickel". Probably not all roster players necessarily right out of the gate, but

I'm not like, afraid of him at the same time? I think he certainly has traits vernon davis didn't have, but davis ran a sub 4.4 40, was super strong and honestly a very good player. Davis was also never first team all-pro. They'd also be taking snaps away from Geisicki, whos honestly really good. Smythe is also better than they give credit. I saw the fuller deal as a placeholder for their WR, so i expect them to go WR.

I don't like trading multiple firsts for non-QBs. Let alone the massive capital it would take to get to 4 (pick 30, 1st rounder in 2022, probably 2 2nd's as well since we pick late in 2021, and the assumption would be that they pick late again in 2022. While the team looks close to set for this year and next, trading all of your picks means in 2023 you are lacking quality players to step in when other players walk - Hughes, Addison, morse, mongo, williams, beasely, Hyde, Poyer etc. Big extensions looming for Allen, possibly Edmunds, means the pool of money for free agents gets smaller and smaller. You also are less likely to have young star players along the line. And sometimes players don't work out - Epenesa, Oliver, Ford haven't really contributed too much yet, and you can't just assume they'll make a jump.

I'd have done it. You aren't extending him (or picking up the 5th year option) so the value (while damaged) is as high as it gets. I wouldn't say its entirely his fault. High expectations were put on him in 2019 after their spending spree and he got mono. The team construction was flawed, and Gase is not a good coach. He's gotta start for the bears first 😉

I dunno - its tough to go from 2-14 to good in a year. Their offensive line is still poor, they have no running backs, and their WR core is pretty similar to a year ago. One QB isn't going to flip them from worst offense in the league to... reasonably poor. Davis will help, i thought mims looked alright at times, crowder and cole are fine. The biggest help to a young QB is top tier weapons, or a run game. They have neither. Oh, and their defense was bad last year and they're pretty much running it back with carl lawson and rankins.

The Holcomb-mania bills-bengals game was also pretty fun in 2005. Christmas eve, mcgee scored twice.

The 2018 Allen season was such a poor offense. They had traded a considerable amount of talented players for the picks needed to acquire Allen, and their big free agent acquisitions were Murphy and Star. Offensive line had many starts by the likes of ducasse, miller, bodine, and mills. Offense scored fewer than 14 points 8 times. Petermans baltimore/chicago games and 2 derek anderson starts were 4 of those 8. I think people that complained about his accuracy/inconsistency needed to watch other QBs perform with that terrible offense. After the Bears game, they started giving snaps to some different players like mckenzie and foster and eventually just dumped benjamin/holmes entirely and you saw a bit more of what allen was capable of.

Now i wonder where they go with their first. Parsons maybe if available, or the top CB on the board?

I'm open to drafting a replacement/upgrade to mckenzie as a returner/gadget player. But he played 25% of offensive snaps, and that was with essentially a start in week 17.

Gillislee had 28 yards on 24 carries. the #2 WR was greg salas. INTs by Lawson and Tarpley... just a hilarious series of events culminating in total failure for the Jets. The red zone interception to mckelvin was a killer though... in a 2 point game you can't throw an interception in the end zone.

I honestly didn't watch as much college football this year so i don't have an opinion. Players I've remembered wanting before? Russell Wilson in the trade up for Graham - I was so sure that's what we were doing.... just an absolute failure. Dez Bryant the year we drafted Spiller. Allen over Rosen. There were bad ones too though Treadwell in 2016 Geno and Te'o in 2013 Maybin in 2009 Quinn in 2007 Leinart in 2006

I was at that game on the company dime with a colleague. The 2 guys we had to entertain left at halftime, and my buddy and I had club seats and a company credit card. I think we ran a 3 or 4 hundred dollar tab on beer and food.

Week 17 against the Jets with them controlling their playoff destiny. I had some jets friends who were getting cocky after the win week 16 against NE, and they basically laughed at the thought that poor old Rex and buffalo could do anything. 3 4th quarter fitz INTs later, they missed the playoffs.. I delighted in the suffering of others - If i can't have a good team, i want all my friends teams to suck too. Also, upon rewatching these highlights, watkins was great when healthy.
