Its not as if they have an auction and every team offers you a deal though. You might only get 1 or 2. Guaranteed money is usually a big factor too. I could shatter my knee and never play again - what's the minimum i'll get if that happens? I pick Chiefs and Chargers as the playoff teams. The other teams have new HC's in a really tough division. Chiefs schedule is the worst by far though. Only thing id mention is - he did get picked up off waivers and had like a week and a half before he was playing. Midseason thats like 4 practices and 2 walk throughs. After being the covid QB for 2 years. Not exactly set up for success. It was also with kitchens calling plays from a garrett playbook. I'm not saying he's tom brady, just saying even brady would probably have struggled with that situation.

Bease is a 6M cap hit this year for acquiring team - but zay jones just got 3/24. Acquiring team can push it to 2 years with a void and lessen the cap burden. WRs are making a lot of money. I doubt we can get much of anything for him but its worth trying. If you cut him he's left with what he gets on FA market which will likely be less than 6M on a 1yr deal.

He had a rough end to his time in buffalo. Signed and started - then tore his pec in 2020 and came back likely not as strong as before. Then last year i dunno if it was covid or what but he looked horribly out of shape.

Part of the issue with Lamar last year is he was just playing really badly. He still had 4 4th quarter comebacks, and GWDs. And if you look outside just... TDs and INTs - he had a better Y/A, AY/A and ANY/A. LJ had higher air yards in every category too. Huntley offered similar value as a rusher but less as a passer, jackson broke 11 tackles to huntleys 3 - and had considerably more yards after contact. Jackson also put up a 37/43 442 and 4 TD performance last season against Indy.

Thought he'd be a candidate for OC (him or pat shurmur) if buffalo didn't keep dorsey. He had that one magical run with Cam, and other than that he's been pretty mediocre. Barkley and daniel jones both had their best years with him at OC, but that was under shurmur. I think he's a good person to have in the room, but i don't think he's earned the keys to the cadillac.

I think Pederson will be a massive upgrade over what they've had. He's always seemed to do a good job balancing out what an offense is trying to do. Adding linemen will help them run the ball more effectively, they get etienne back from last year as well. Kirk, Jones, Shenault - not a particularly scary unit in any case. I'd expect them to use 33 on a WR - especially if a good one falls. They need a TE as well depending on the rest of FA shaking out.

True - those 3rd deals are always risky if you put any term on there.

Year 2 is very reasonable though, with a dead cap of only like 700K if they were to cut him after camp etc. He's in the mix for slot, gadget, etc. snaps. Looks like they just need 1 guy for the top 4 role most likely.

17.5M cap hit, and then in 2023 and 2024 the cap hits jump to 22.7M. I know you can re-structure but that requires void years or extensions... and he's already 31 coming off a foot injury. With Mack and Bosa they should have one of the most formidable pass rushes in the league. We'll see how they address a pretty mediocre rush defense though, and honestly their secondary isn't anything to write home about.

Agreed. Houston can either take 10 cents on the dollar now, or wait and get market value. Or nothing if his career is over.
