  1. I question coverage stats - a LOT. The advanced defense numbers say poyer has allowed 4 completions on 5 targets with a TD for 80% comp% and a 101.7 rating allowed. Yet he somehow has 4 interceptions?
  2. I honestly could see benford moving to safety down the line, or they need to move Dane Jackson (RFA so in line for a raise/offer sheet). It's likely to keep him on the field more as both of our safeties are in their 30s and on the end of contracts. Poyer has no contract for next year (neither does johnson for that matter) and Hyde's on his final year of his deal. Benford's not "too slow" to play cornerback - but he's a good tackler, knows how to make plays on the ball in zone, and has the size to play there. I think Jacksons possibly a little too small for that switch, and elam was brought in with excellent speed to improve our ability to play more man coverage.
  3. Any time passes are deflected its sort of hard to react, and it seemed to get deflected just past his hands instead of into him for whatever reason. He had a clutch catch in the 4th quarter so... i think we can forgive him 🙂
  4. I assume they IR crowder today and make some kind of roster move - we already needed to make room for Tre. Stevenson on IR probably means he's next man up to active roster.
  5. Can we not confuse fantasy stats with real life? The "already has 15 receptions and 27 targets" is not a good stat for actual football. It's good for fantasy though - he gets targets meaning PPR. However, he's a running back securing 55% of targets, where 90% of them occur at the LOS. He has 5 recorded drops in 4 games, and also lost a fumble. Let's not act like we wouldn't be frustrated as hell with all of that. I'm sure he's played fine - just not sure he is the answer to all that ails this team.
  6. I'm not trading for Beasley. He was drama when he was here a year ago, and he wasn't even good. I'd rather just role with shakir and mckenzie in the slot. Add Hodgins for a week or two as boundary depth if kumerow can't go.
  7. We're banged up - but thats why you have practice squad players. Davis Kumerow and McKenzie will all play this season - we don't need to trade picks for players at this point. Stevenson is eligible to come back at some point which adds a vertical element that the offense doesn't have, and they have hodgins and austin on the PS if needed at any point. One guy is gone for the year at this point - and he was probably our least productive one so far.
  8. Result was never in doubt - I got drunk and watched the Mighty ducks on saturday night. Never say die.
  9. I think the difference with a vet like Tre is when he reads the play and gets the turnover. The stars see things on film everyone else does, and know how to freelance correctly to make a big play. You want flexibility to play man and blitz at times as well.
  10. I'd say its a symptom of our issues along the interior offensive line. Saffold hasn't been good. Morse isn't a good run blocker. Bates hasn't been good, and isn't a good run blocker. Inside zone is not hard to do out of any formation for a back - its either follow, cut, bounce. That is it. I'm not seeing the backs doing the wrong thing here. I'm seeing them never even get to plant their foot in the grass to make a decision.
  11. Kumerow is fine - he has pretty good hands, is huge, pretty athletic and is a good blocker. Find a team who's #6 WR is a polished dynamic superstar... One is probably a PS add - I'm curious who they add to the actual 53 when they IR crowder.
  12. When is Stevenson potentially back?
  13. On 3rd and 1 he was hit 3 yards behind the LOS... what is he gonna do there? That's been happening constantly regardless of the back out there. So not sure if its bad plays, bad calls, bad checks... whatever. We have an absurd amount of wasted plays that gain nothing.
  14. We're gonna need Moss this season before its all said and done. Same with Cook. Right now its the singletary show, but its a long year and you want him healthy for the games that matter.
  15. Multiple 3rd and 1s. Multiple completely blown up plays when we try and go jumbo/heavy. I don't know of a back who can make anything happen when his lineman is in his lap by the time he gets the ball. The big one in this one was... about as lucky a play as you will see. There was a 3rd and 8 blitz where I'm not sure what we were doing but almost half their team was open. Moss usage is so strange - they're starting to use motor more as an every down guy, but you really don't want that for a full season. On the road in a big game, sure - but whatever we're calling playcall wise with moss on the field is just dumb. I'm sure they are RPOs or something but shotgun runs up the middle are just wasted plays at this point. Gotta get away from the wasted run plays - and use the run game to get us into more manageable 3rd downs.
  16. He was great with wilson scrambles and always seemed to make some clutch plays. Allen scrambles a lot and I'm looking for that guy who always finds the open grass and makes plays.
  17. I'm hoping Shakir can be our version of Doug Baldwin.
  18. Shady was a solid trade too.
  19. Beasley wasn't a very effective player last year. He could still get open but there was just not much there from a YAC perspective. He started to see his snap counts go down as the year went on and they preferred using Mckenzie and Singletary as safety valves a bit more.
  20. No watt is a killer to their pass rush defensively. Their last 3 games have been against NE, CLE, and NYJ - 3 of the worst passing offenses in football. I expect buffalo to put a hurting on this unit on Sunday. Offensively they'll have a rookie making his first start. They also have a pretty trash offensive line. We should cause some issues for him.
  21. With Kumerow still out - and Davis banged up... i may call hodgins. Shakir and Mckenzie as the slot guys.
  22. Honestly we've played a tough group of rush defenses. Baltimore was #1 a year ago and they're still pretty solid on that part of defense. Miami is 11th this year - but they played buffalo and Baltimore so you have the top 2 running QBs adding a ton of yards. Conventional running against them this year hasn't been successful. Tennessee was #2 last year, and had a bad game against the giants but they just held indy to 38 yards rushing LAR who was #6 a year ago Shuffling line didn't help in week 3. We know we're a passing team, but they need to figure out how to run more effectively against good defenses. The short passes and stuff are a run game extension, but we need to be able to hand the ball off and gain some easy yards. The RPO pass portion is why we're just walking down the field half the game though.
  23. He had 6 snaps against Baltimore. Legit barely played. We're complaining about him gaining yards now? What are we doing?
  24. Moss played 6 snaps. And Cook played 2.
  25. Miami is tremendously fast - he definitely played a bit scared on a couple of deeper passes.
