  1. He's very well thought of by everyone in that building. I guarantee he's more involved in running and designing the offense than people think.
  2. You're probably not wrong - but the cap goes up... like every year. So the AAV needs to reflect that increase in the deal. Murray is still a good player - probably the best one on the cardinals. Its easy to look at the last game and be like... don't pay this guy, he absolutely blew it in the playoffs. You could also tell he wasn't right after the injury though. I think he can potentially be like Mahomes-Lite, so I'd probably keep him around. If you trade him and he ends up winning a super bowl in Pittsburgh or Carolina or something you're going to look foolish.
  3. I think it depends who the WR is. I'm not giving someone 10-12M AAV, to just end up using davis/diggs for the majority of outside snaps. I suppose diggs could flex inside more, but Bease is still likely to play.
  4. I'd probably just go BPA. It won't be a QB, a S, or from the looks of it a pass rusher. So if its a lineman, or WR, or CB, or whatever. The goal should be to find a star player in that spot. Like i doubt he makes it to us - but Jordan Davis would be a game changer for the defense. Basically helps all of your pass rushers by adding an insanely strong athletic 1T. Jameson Williams would be a good fit as he gets to come along at his own pace.
  5. He can get more on the open market than that. Tannehill got 29.5M... in 2020 on a lower cap. Wilson got 35M AAV in 2019. Watson got 39M AAV in 2020. Also cousins contract was 2yr 66M fully guaranteed in 2021 after 3yr 84M in 2018. You'd be asking Murray to sign for less than Cousins did in 2020.
  6. I mean "less salary" 3yr 84M in 2018, and 2yr 66M for 21-22 - all guaranteed. So i would assume that starts negotiations at 30M per year. His cap hit for this year is 45M. If you tried to trade him the team acquiring has to pay 35M in salary.
  7. I know the mocks are picking CBs or WRs in the first... but i think if there's a solid guard/center prospect there it could be the pick. Bates played pretty well at LG, but i think the line could still use some more young talent. Morse and Williams are about to be 30 - one with a history of concussions, the other with a history of knee problems. Both are solid in pass pro, morse is athletic, and williams has position flex. But neither is cheap, and neither is a tremendous impact player. I also know we've struggled with pass pro against certain opponents, and it cost them games - Jax, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Tampa etc. And adding some beef might help get everything going for the run game throughout the year as well, especially in the red zone. You wanna play soft zone in the red zone? Fine - Hammer them.
  8. It's one of those things - are you better without him. The cap savings won't get you a full replacement, but if you're using other cap to bring in a starter/phillips anyway, and you want to draft someone then its probably worth moving on simply to give the snaps to other players.
  9. He was their project behind olsen. That team also used CMC for a ton of targets. Then last year they had anderson, moore, samuel get the majority of targets. This season anderson/moore had like 270 targets. I'm not sure if he's good or bad, but its a position that had like no role in their offense. When he came out i know the knocks were that he was raw but i seem to remember him having upside as a blocker.
  10. Minnesota had a lot of young guys on their line. I think 4 guys on rookie deals? Lot of investment there, but from a pass pro standpoint nothing seems to stick out. In the last 4 years they have used 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and a 3rd.
  11. I like patterson - but 8-10M for a gadget RB/WR/KR is a lot. He also doesn't return punts which means Hyde? Or a new WR/DB that isn't on the roster yet.
  12. You don't save money on the cap by cutting bease if his replacement has like double the cap hit.
  13. Yeah i think it was in the new CBA. Oh well... for better or worse he's ours 🙂
  14. I don't want to trade him tbh - the replacement options are going to be worse. If you draft someone I'd still want edmunds around most likely. Star has little savings (only about 1.5M). I'm not sure thats enough to sign the replacement unless its in the draft - in which case removing him is getting your pick playing time. Not sure where they stand on Phillips but I think they'd like to bring him back.
  15. I thought 5th year options were only injury guaranteed now. I believe it locks in on the first league day though.
  16. The only connection i see is Rick Dennison. Who he replaced when he wouldn't get vaccinated. Lot of young players on that offensive line and they didn't have any glaring pass pro issues. All with a first time play caller in Klint Kubiak.
  17. There's work but its not that hard to me. You can add a void year to beasley and star's deals to lower the cap charges. Milanos 7.5M base salary can be pushed. Same with Morse's 6.9M (could extend or tack on a void year), and Dawkins 8.1. Diggs is probably nearing an extension - added years means lowering the 12.5 base salary he has. Mongo, Matakevich, Klein cuts would get them under. Williams or Morse could also be released for significant savings. Edmunds extension would considerably lower the cap charge, but I'm reluctant to pay him what he probably wants. I'd look in early rounds for a suitable replacement and develop them in the year with the expectation that edmunds walks in 2023.
  18. Its his 5th year option. You can negotiate an extension - or just keep him on the 1 year deal and draft a replacement.
  19. I like it - has worked with Tom Cable and Bill Callahan in his career. Outside of Scarrnechia they're 2 of the best. I see it as an upgrade.
  20. The question is moreso - what would Ken have wanted to do if he had Allen's ability?
  21. Paid - Milano, allen, white, Dawkins, Hyde, poyer. Edmunds is on an expensive 5th year option. Williams Morse Feliciano have decent contracts as well.
  22. Need a depth WR who can play inside/out. And the TE depth was terrible this year - you have to at least push sweeney a little bit.
  23. I'd agree - very raw coming out. Not a lot of targets or anything in college, and he battled injuries and drops the first 2 years.
