  1. Its like tunnel vision your describing. I HAVE seen that kind of thing with Allen in terms of focus, in clutch moments, but it's whether it can be sustained or whether he will only ever flash it. He always seems more settled when he can run for some yards in drives, teams will take that away though and force him to be a pocket passer
  2. He needs to start sliding NOW. No need to dive head first. I think he will always have some risk to his play in terms of INTS because of his nature and the fact that he is not the most accurate QB.
  3. It might have come to that as he's not listening to his coach! ? It is!
  4. 'he will never be a great QB because of his inaccuracy'. I tend to agree. I always notice how INACCURATE Allen is when another QB Barkley or Peterman, yes Peterman, came in and looked more pinpoint. When Allen's IN RHYTHM he's better on all fronts. He's not naturally accurate and so this element of his game gets worse when he is under pressure or 'in his head'.
  5. I disagree. I saw something further against new England that made me question whether he has it. He was intimidated to me. How do you know he is precisely the same player after the game that he was before? He's better than Edwards and Barkley and we both know that. There are more highs and lows with Allen than the other two.
  6. Haha. What I heard was the original trade in place was Zay +pick to Minnesota for Diggs
  7. Absolutely. he didn't lose the game on his own no. I mean 3 picks is giving the opposition the ball 3 times but the defence again did their thing. The interceptions with Allen don't bother ME that much. Neither does throwing across the body. There IS an issue with both of those but he's hit some for gains and I want an element of that still there because it's exciting.
  8. There is hysteria but it's not all hysteria. Just like it wasnt just Allen that won the three games. No 2 defence in the league.
  9. When I first got into football all I would read is cannon arm this, rocket arm that. People generally go ON and ON about Allen's ARM. Give me the rest please. I don't want an arm behind a scrimmage throwing a football. Give me a brain. Give me an instinct. Give me composure.
  10. People do not have to hold a BLACK or WHITE opinion of Allen. One doesn't need to be all on him or all out on him at this point, you can hold shades of both opinions to an equal or varying extent. You can have faith in him but still ask all the questions you have listed. There will always be boneheaded posts. Often for attention
  11. I agree with your point about at least questioning whether Allen is the one to put the franchise future on. The interceptions are a concern but what's MORE of a concern to me is seeing the field, seeing open receivers, capitalizing on mistakes by the defence. I ask myself the question is Allen good but reckless, needing to mature Or is he just not THAT good?
  12. Nor is he going to last long running head first
  13. I thought the comments by Allen in different pressers: 'We need to come out of the half with more juice' and 'coach McDermott does a great job of teaching us situational football' Were concerning.
  14. I've seen Josh Allen go up a gear yes. And we've all seen the meltdown. The full context is I've seen the going up a gear against lesser teams. Not a criticism at all, he just plays the opposition thats there - but let's now see the Dallas TV game, next patriots game, Phillie game. Let see those and how he bounces back from the hit.
  15. Great QBs go up a gear when they have to.
  16. Yeah that's interesting. First drive of the first game he looked great to me. I saw something 'happen' to him in the patriots game. His game is there and then can competely unravel it seems. I will say his biggest strength to me is his short memory. I've seen him come back from mistakes and he needs to continue to do that.
  17. What are examples of positives/signs of growth and progress for you?
  18. This is it. Starting to see these open receivers he's missing and often he's not even looking on one side of the field.
  19. Cincinnati game because their defence is bad
  20. Allen might be better in an uptempo offence when there's less time to 'think'.
  21. Continue to develop him but he will be judged in tough games. To judge him in the patriots game is fair. There are posters on here that are both 1. patient with him to play all season 2. are also are skeptical as to whether he is a high tier QB when they see games like Sunday. Theres a continuous judgement going on in people's minds, which admittedly is from play to play sometimes. For me, I need to see a 3TD game. I've seen a 3INT game. Point being we need to see good games to back up the flashes that we DO see. Need to see ONE good statistical day to show he can be consistent in a game. I'm viewing Allen through the lens of can he take us to the Superbowl.
  22. This is what I saw aswell. I saw it against the Packers last year. Panic. He seems to stop playing the game and plays the moment. When I think about it it may be when he plays really good quarterbacks?
  23. It is, it's also easier when you have nothing to prove. Allen knows he's got alot to prove and is impatient as a result.
