Players are thinking of the record. At least subconsciously. Playing at 5-1 is different to 3-1 or so as the bills become more favoured to win. It takes a certain mental strength that I dont think this bills team has at this point. I think a big win against a ravens, cowboys can really help that. Chan Gailey had plenty of faults. But when the bills started well under him( 2011? - I might be wrong on year) I remember him saying that he wanted to see if they could handle having a good record. They couldn't. Teams come in with a chip on their shoulder and see a 5-1 team as a scalp. Killer instinct.

With a top notch coach aswell. I knew this game would be tough for the bills and was concerned about a 5-1 record team getting complacent/ not 'having urgency'. The bills lose against the good coaches and QBs, hopefully that changes at some point this season. Against the ravens would be a good win.

Culture - Phillie played well for a team who are slagging each other off/ calling each other out.

Will beane/McDermott get to survive another QB draft? If there is doubt around Allen at the end of the season In next year's draft is the best thing they can do draft a WR round 1, QB round 2 and trade Barkley? Thing is I can't see it happening

From yesterday's game we know they are a 5-1 team not as good as a 3-4 team! Whilst it IS a record which suggests a 'good' team, the eagles were 3-4 and outplayed us by quite alot remember. Maybe their games were tougher? In using the record to tell how good the team is, after being beat by a 3-4 team it is understandable to factor in who they played and who they have beaten etc. The games the bills won were close, you are right that the two losses were against two recent Superbowl teams/ coaches. The record will be the main thing that matters but that will be at the end of the season, not now.

I'm more interested to see MCDs postgame speech to the team after this loss rather than the wins it's usually posted after. Wonder what he said.

Yeah. I feel like the cowboys, ravens and Steelers games are tests. Steelers record isn't great but would still be a good win away.

5-2 record is great but we've been really poor since the bye. That falls on coaching. Although there has been good there has been bad and we could have lost at least one other game realistically. I'm sorry but we DO NOT KNOW if this is a good team now even though the record is good at this point.

I cannot think of a big signature win under McDermott against a BETTER team. Maybe Minnesota, that's it. if we keep beating the bad teams he will keep his job but we do lose to the better teams and there will be a point where this starts to be highlighted. WE LOSE TO THE BETTER QBS AND BETTER COACHES. (The browns game is one this bills could win).
