  1. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000001053225/Every-DeAndre-Hopkins-target-Week-1 To people that want to nit-pick Allens accuracy and claim the bal was maybe too high or slightly behind a WR at times, potentially limiting more yards, I want you to watch this video. Watson is brought up a lot because we could have drafted him. I think it is pretty unanimous that Watson is a capable QB and I certainly dont see anyone criticizing his accuracy to the level that Allen is. In this video alone I count 4 balls that were off target: 0:24, 1:12, 1:49, 2:14, 2:28. Any of these throws by Allen would have people on here picking him apart for "costing us a TD" but the reality is that QBs make imperfect throws all the time. the key is you back them up by good throws and keep the drive moving. If you want perfection thats fine but know that by your standards Watson would be a QB that still needs a lot of work to improve his accuracy too.
  2. We also have to play the Pats twice. The Pats dont.
  3. The field compresses as you get into the RZ, more so the closer you get to the EZ. Clearly Daboll trusts Josh but I think a lot of his concepts work best at stretching defenses all over the field which opens up space. Thats harder to do in the RZ so its possible he doesnt feel quite confident enough in Josh to pick apart a D with narrower windows. Combine that with a good O-line and...its working. If it aint broke dont fix it. Im sure they run the plays in practice.
  4. I have not seen that announced, only speculated. Its not really 2 years, more like 18 months tops. Either way thats true for baseball but that doesnt mean its true for football. Delhomme had the same thing and was fine much sooner than 2 years.
  5. Fitz had us at 5-2, not 5-1. We started out 3-0 beating the Pats. After starting 5-2 we went 1-8 the rest of the way. True but there are also very few that are guarantee wins. Titans, Redskins Steelers, Browns are all going to be tough games. Im glad were beating the teams were supposed to but there is a lot of season left.
  6. Im not going to claim Allen is or will be better than Wentz but I have always thought that the people that are hyper critical about Allen need to watch other QBs with the same level of scrutiny. When someone comes on here and says "The ball was 1 foot behind him, that is an easy pitch and catch for a starting QB" or complains about a ball being every so slightly off from Allen, the only QB capable of meeting their expectations is maybe Brees. QBs that are considered serious Franchise QBs miss passes all the time.
  7. What are you referring to? I dont remember Poyer being involved in any controversial play. Are you talking about the Hyde hit on Fowler?
  8. That I agree with but it is weird that so many people dont take an objective look at things. Putting the Jets ahead of us is a just low-hanging fruit take. Both teams with 2nd year QBs, we won more games than them, we upgraded O-line with better players than them, our defense was one of the top in the league and retained starters, we are in year 3 with of a HC and year two of OC. They had a new HC, worse record the year before, worse defense, all new system, etc. It just seemed unanimous that the Jets were going to be better without really any objective justification. Im so glad we beat them in NJ to boot.
  9. The reason the announcers put that spin on it is because they were right. Throws to the sideline always involve placing it so the DB cant get to it but your WR can make a play. Not sure where else you would want the ball thrown so Brown has a better chance at catching it. Just because a WR needs to make an adjustment doesnt mean its inaccurate.
  10. The way I see it the fumbles and the batted ball are things you want to avoid as a QB so yes, they are at least partially on him and because of them he didnt have a steller day overall. But...these types of turnovers are NOT the same type of turnovers people expected. When people talk about "Bad Josh" they mean wildly inaccurate throws, holding the ball too long, poor decision making, scrambling too quickly. If I were to tell you Josh had 4 turnovers in the first half before the game you would assume that one of them would have been because of those things but in fact none of them were. These turnovers, while annoying, are much much more easily corrected and avoided. That is why I am more optimistic. The typical traits of "Bad Josh" were only seen sparingly and THAT is progress people.
  11. 1) its a very short trip so travel is easy 2) familiarity. Many athletes are creatures of habit that like to have routines. 3) Bills fans showed up yesterday, they can show up again this coming Sunday
  12. I keep seeing that he lost anywhere from $21-$39 million. Assuming he will keep his head down and play well this year for the Pats, he is a FREE AGENT next season. He will get another contract and possibly ever more money on top of the $9-$15 mill he gets from the Pats. He didn't lose any money at all.
  13. Except he was like this in Pittsburgh for a long time.
  14. Is this really the best teams they've had since 85? They won 13 games were in the SB in 2006, with a QB not much better than Trubisky.
  15. Which I think is the right bet week 1. Its gonna be a healthy dose of Beasly on super short underneath stuff and some shots down the field. If Josh connects then itll open up for him as they move to Cover2, Cover 3.
  16. I think this is exactly why you average them... My concern is that Josh was at the bottom of the stats for those guys. I would be more interested in seeing a comparison of all of the guys that had stats similar to his in year 1 compared to year 2. Just saying hes a top 10 pick doesnt provide the correct reference frame for improvement.
  17. We disagree. I think trading up before evaluations are done is fine because eventually they will be done and you will want to be in the best position possible to get the guy that you evaluate highest. The Bills were not in that position on draft day. The Jets were as best as they could be. Yes any trade up for a QB is worth it if they are good. I havent seen this photo, can you possibly find it for me? Id be very interested.
  18. You don’t think but you don’t know. Nobody knows. And by Beanes own admission even he didn’t know when the Jets traded up. If he wanted Allen and the Jets took him at 3 it’s the same mistake. I’m not gonna argue over who beane wanted and/or didn’t want. The point is the process was flawed
  19. Beane has maintained that a deal with the Steelers was never done and Beane actually strongly defended his position and the city of Buffalo after that whole ordeal. Not sure how you can say Beane made Buffalo a punchline
  20. But you dont know exactly who was Beane's guy. He easily could have had Darnold ahead of Allen.
  21. Very recency bias but in 2015, Rex's first season and Tyrod as QB we STOMPED the Colts in the Ralph. The Colts had just come off of the AFC Championship game and were SB contenders. When we destroyed them spirits were at an all time high that season. Harvin had a 50 yard bomb TD. Its also very memorable for me because the next day at 7am I moved to California for a new job. I actually told my boss to move my start date back by a week so I could go to the home opener before moving.
  22. Morse never played in the preseason and they tried Ford at tackle a decent amount while he likely plays mostly guard which should suit him better. So I wouldnt judge the O-line by the preseason.
  23. https://www.theringer.com/nfl-preview/2019/9/3/20844924/preseason-power-rankings-part-2-broncos-49ers-ravens 23 here, Jets are 25 in another article (link at the beginning) This is a good writeup.
  24. Our travel schedule is pretty great. We only leave "NYS" (Metlife is in jersey, but still a really quick trip) one time in the first 9 weeks. We should be free of any travel fatigue. Hopefully we take advantage of it.
