I also think itll be a tough game but their defense has struggled down the stretch. I dont think its accurate to say they have a better defense than us if you look at how both teams are playing lately. But running game is better than ours. That said, with how we have been scoring lately a running attack likely doesn beat us alone. Their secondary will need to REALLY step up and that has been a weak point for them lately.

So, we're rooting for Pittsburgh next week, right?
jletha replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea Id rather play Pittsburgh for sure. That said I think we can beat anyone. Baltimore worries me since theyre kinda rolling and theyre such a different style of team to prepare for. But the way we have been playing lately I think we can beat anyone. First up is the Colts. -
I dont quite get it honestly. How often does the consensus #1 overall pick QB work out? Not a ton. Many times the best QB from a class comes later. Just feels silly to get your panties in a bunch over this. Luck was good I guess but not a world beater, never made a SB. Ryan and Stafford are solid but beatable. Kyler, Burrow the jury is still out (but Herbert looks good).

If titans colts browns dolphins and ravens all finish 11-5
jletha replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a similar situation that happened to us in 2017. Even though the Browns own head2head tiebreakers over the Colts and Titans in a 3-way tie head to head isnt used. In that scenario Cleveland is out. -
If Pittsburgh is so beatable that you are happy they will remain the 2-3 seed why do you just assume they will automatically win their WC game? With how bad their offense is and the injuries on defense I think any WC team (Colts, Titans, Browns, Ravens) could beat them.

This game showcased Allen's development
jletha replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The drive to get a FG late int he first half seemed to be when they started to figure it out. Once the second half got going I was never worried. Josh hung in the pocket longer than we had ever seen before this season. I especially remember a play late in the game that they highlighted on the broadcast. I think it was a third down and Steelers went all out Cover-0 blitz. Josh knew exactly what we he was going to do against it, waited until the last second for the defense to clear the field and dumped it to Knox who had nothing but green grass. The second he saw the blitz he knew he was going to Knox. -

Josh Allen YPG in warm weather vs cold weather (stat)
jletha replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have had this discussion many times with people. Some like to think playing outside in December is a big advantage to the Bills because other teams arent used to it. You know who isnt used to it either? The Bills! Most of these guys are from Texas/California/somewhere warmer and many are on the team for 1-3 years. They practice indoors too. Next stadium should a dome, for the fans and for competitive reasons. -
This list doesnt even include my favorite throw of the game. It was early in the first quarter, on the first drive I think. He actually moved left which isnt his strong suit and hit Beasly in stride on a laser to a soft spot of the zone. This throw I think he struggled to see the window against the Titans and Chiefs. It was early on and set the tone, after that throw I knew Josh was feeling himself. Very first pass in this highlight reel:

So Which Players are on IR & Who is out for the Season ?
jletha replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Milano was put on IR before the Seattle game which means, as you have to miss a minimum of three games, he is eligible to come back this week. Not sure if he will, but he is eligible. -
"QB draw?" Literally every knew it was coming. Nothing you can do to stop it though.
-
I actually dont think our main weakness is stopping the run. When we gameplan to stop it we do. We held Derrick Henry to 57 yards, 3 YPA which is his lowest of the season. The Chiefs ran all over us but 1) their the Chiefs and 2) McD literally said that was the plan. I think our biggest weakness is QB contain and the secondary which impacts the run game.

Why this game against the Patriots is NOWHERE NEAR monumental
jletha replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady/Belichek/history/blah blah doesnt matter. Belichek still is a defensive mastermind and its a division game. NE has two games against the Jets left. Two of our wins are against the Jets. If we lose this and lose to Sea & SF (who NE also lost ) and they sweep the Jets like we did we are all right there for the division, along with Miami likely. This game is a full 1-game swing for both teams. THAT is why its important. -
No way we trade for him with that contract.
-
Exactly. There are better kickers in the league, there are also better QBs. Problem is theyre all on other teams, not walking the streets. Ask Jax or Tenn from last season. You cant release Bass and bank on the kicking getting much better. On top of that he gives us a shot from 50+ which isnt a guarantee. Stick with Bass.

Wow. This schedule...looks harder than we thought!
jletha replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Show me someone that though this would be a cakewalk. Literally NOBODY said this schedule was a cakewalk. Our difficult schedule was talked about ad nauseam. -
One thing to factor in is since we score early and often on offense, other teams are forced to throw the ball more which will impact yards. Im not saying were the same secondary, we absolutely need to force more 3-and-outs going forward. But with a high-scoring offense, inevitably our defensive yards are going to tick up.

Titans player test positive today 10/7
jletha replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not abandon TNF for the rest of the season (besides the obvious $$$). But move TNF to Sunday or Monday ont he same network, make it a double header every week. Unprecedented times, these networks ned to make sacrifices. But IMO keeping TNF is throwing a wrench into things. If we didnt play Thursday then we could conceivably play the Titans on Monday or Tues. -
I think its a universal feeling that Daboll has done a fantastic job building this offense and this year is his masterpiece with Josh's development and the added pieces in Diggs & Davis. Its also pretty likely that he will get attention for Head coaching after this season assuming this offense keeps playing well. With that, is there a world where we watch Daboll leave and become known as one of the offensive guru coaches a la McVay and Shanahan and we struggle to replace him? If you speak to Falcons fans Id bet they regret letting that guy leave and keeping Quinn. Obviously its an impossible situation for an organization. You cant fire your HC after making the SB just to promote your OC but you also cant keep your OC if there are HC aspirations. Im just so satisfied with Daboll at this point, I heard this scenario mentioned on WGR briefly and have been fear stricken since.

Josh's Amazing Array of Throws From Yesterday
jletha replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also think his understanding of defenses has improved. Looking at the Cole TD. On the snap he instantly looks right. The defense is very concerned about Diggs and a guy that should be picking up Cole makes a move to double Diggs (also looks like a miscommunication between the DBs). The *instant* he heads to double Diggs you see Josh recognizes the gap and fires it to Cole in the vacated spot. Its a culmination of progress on all fronts. Team building adding Diggs to scare defenses, play call to give Josh multiple looks on the same side of the field, reading defensive leverage and exploiting mistakes and then obviously execution firing the ball in time accurately.
