  1. Interesting Oweh doesnt veen crack the top 5 edge rushers, Ive seen him mocked to us a few times. He is a very polarizing player it seems.
  2. Well this thread is about a player getting drafted after a major injury...so forgive me for assuming they were referencing McGahee's knee injury since they also mentioned another player we drafted that had injury history. But perhaps they meant something else.
  3. Is this a joke? McGahee played for 10 season, multiple 1000 yard seasons and multiple pro bowls.
  4. I think about this as well. Because Allen wasnt given much of an opportunity, Buffalo was the first time he ever had *real* coaching. No disrespect to Wyoming but theyre not Oklahoma, USC, Alabama, OSU, etc. And before that was JuCo for him. In that respect it does make sense that he hadnt even began to scratch his potential in college. But of course that doesnt then mean that every QB from a less prominent school will magically flourish in the NFL. I do think Allen is an outlier there.
  5. https://www.theringer.com/2021/4/28/22406266/quarterback-development-nfl-draft-josh-allen-buffalo-bills Lots of GMs and coaches have the "I can develop him" ego and it only takes one to convince themself about a certain player to draft them. We will likely see a few swings and misses while teams search for "their Josh Allen" until its figured out how rare Josh exactly is. Also, if you click on the video linked at the top of the article it highlights a really bad throw on an easy target but if you backup 5 seconds you see a laser thrown on the run perfectly placed, and mind you Wyoming is up 42-0 haha.
  6. I hope it doesnt come to it, but I could see it happening. You could maintain the salary cap and have some structured allotment of money, that increases for the worse teams, that each team has to spend on incoming players and then every player coming out of college is a FA. That way the worst teams would have the most money to sign guys. It would be different though for sure.
  7. But why couldnt Edmunds sign a contract that matches his production on the field. If he wants a market-setting contract, its an easy NO. If he wants a reasonable contract given his good-not-great play thats a different story. It seems the discussion on Edmunds is whether hes worth a BIG contract but why is it assumed we, or someone else, would ever give him such a contract?
  8. Probably would use this as leverage to get a new Stadium. If we build a brand new downtown stadium I could see the draft coming potentially.
  9. Yes I am going with my family. We are all vaccinated, besides the kids, but its not required to just go to the event. Its only required to get into the arena and have a seat to watch the draft which i=Im not interested in. We have a hotel right downtown. There is going to be a large open air Draft Experience with food/drinks/games what not and youll be able to see the screen where the draft is happening and kinda mill about. Inside the stadium will be some games ad things like kicking a FG, running a 40 yd dash etc. This requires a reservation which is free and each reservation can be for 2 adults and up to 5 children. Download the NFL OnePass app to reserve. In addition the Rock and Roll HOF is right there and I may head down to the HOF. Either way I veiw it as an excuse to get out of the city after being hesitant to travel for so long.
  10. Mahomes abused Edmunds, it was ugly. He over-pursued many times.
  11. overall I agree except that because he was a first rounder there is a slight difference because you need to decide on the 5th year option. They need to decide this offseason if they pick that up or not. Its a pretty big decision.
  12. Unless Edmunds has a Josh Allen level leap in ability I dont think they will retain him. He is a fine player but not great. All the excuses from Cover1 and Nate Geary...why are we making excuses for a guy that is drafted that high and is a supposed athletic freak. Hes a good player but hes not all-pro great like some wanted. He is serviceable but not someone you can depend on all the time. Just look at this past season. if the scheme doesnt perfectly fit him or Milano gos down he disappears. Why would you want that guy as your defensive anchor. He should transcend scheme and injuries more often than not. I think if he was a slam dunk to be our long term MLB we would not have signed Milano. I dont think Beane would wrap that much long term money into the LB position. So Milano getting the extension is a bit of a signal that he is ok letting Edmunds go, IMO.
  13. For the trade to be worth it he doesnt have to be the best TE in the league, he just has to contribute to us winning a SB. I think he can do that.
  14. I think most would disagree about the "modest difference in production" assessment. Analysis of Pitts is as arguably the best TE prospect ever.
  15. I would LOVE to trade Edmunds and 30 (and something else potentially) for Pitts. I think Edmunds is full of potential but so far hasnt quite lived up to it. The 5th year option is going to be a tough decision on him...so let it be someone elses decision. We just paid Milano, I think its unlikely we pay Edmunds similarly. Trade him now and get a gamechanger for us.
  16. This was the Why So Serious game. Coming out party for Stevie. That was the very next game after this Raiders game. And we destroyed the Chiefs in week 1 so we were 3-0 and on our way to the playoffs! I was also at that Raiders game and it was absolutely electric when we won that. I think we had 5 straight TD drives in the second half
  17. I think itll be a roofed stadium down town. Id love for it to be retractable somehow but I wouldnt hold out hope because of cost.
  18. The main thing with 12 personnel (mind you two TEs that can both block and catch. This was Lee Smiths problem) is that it puts the defense into a bind and gives the offense flexibility. If the defense tries to match 12 personnel with bigger guys to stop the run, then you send the TEs out to run routes. If they go small so prevent the TEs from catching the ball downfield then you run the ball. It will not only help us open the run game it will add a massive wrinkle to the pass game that wasnt on tape last season. I am convinced our offense will be unstoppable with another premier TE.
  19. they added a third, and a first in 2023 (who even knows what theyll look like then) and lost all leverage since there are only 4 QBs anyone cares about. This does very little to make them any more competitive in the next two years, the most important for Tua, then before they made the trade. I dont really see why they did this so early. Wilson's pro day was TODAY. Let the hype build a little bit. Weird move for sure. Add in the trading of Shaq and releasing of Van Noy, the GM is making some odd moves.
  20. Im pro any move by Miami that increases the odds of Tua playing QB.
  21. I think something that has to be acknowledged in this as well as the defenses rise in the back half of the season was the quality of QBs we played. Aside from Herbert, who was a rookie, we played god awful QBs all in a row after the bye.
  22. as a PR/KR + his value as "the jet sweep guy" he is much more valuable than the role he played last year. I like bringing him back
  23. Injuries last year are for sure a factor. He was limited most of the year and ever after injury just did not have the same game. They said they wanted Emmanuel Sanders for a while now. Maybe they think he can do more things in the offense than John Brown.
  24. Why the hell would Chi pay Dalton $10mill just to tread water if it required releasing Fuller?? Just sign another QB! What are Nagy and Pace thinking?
  25. I hope this is a joke...
