  1. Maybe a lot of people mis-remember but Josh didnt really get cooking until the back half of last season. He started hot against NYJ, Miami, LV and LAR but then had a long stretch of inconsistent play from TEN-LAC. With 6 games of <100 Rating, back to back games without a TD, etc that really mirrors his play even now.
  2. My only hope is that Knox and the O-line injuries are the issue and things will look better when they come back.
  3. Yea the Sanders TD against KC came to mind but he almost never hits the rainbows. There was a deeper crosser to Diggs in the Texans game, maybe that counts.
  4. Ravens schedule is much harder than ours. Was going to be the Titans, could still be, but without Henry is going to be tough.
  5. Being the 1 seed is a huge advantage now, and we are in the drivers seat to get it with the Henry injury. Make a move now to ensure it, even if its a bit of an over pay IMO.
  6. Tua's arm is so weak, any pass beyond 20 yards is a jump ball. He is accurate on 8 yard passes and he does get the ball out quick so he can sustain drives but the second its 3rd and long or he needs to push the ball its bad. He needs to throw the ball so early to get it down field and that requires him to read defenses in lightning speed. Drew Brees figured out how to do it, but Im not sure Tua can. He needs so much to go right around him. If they dont have a lead I dont know how they ever win a game. H
  7. The A's drafted him knowing he wanted to continue to play football and that drafting him that high was a huge risk since he could always choose football. They offered him a contract for millions and he signed, what else would you do...not sign? And then he got into a position to make a LOT more money in a better situation playing football. The A's did it to themselves drafting him when they did with no guarantee he would play. "Maybe that was a promise to keep him on the A's and not play football" They had to adjust the rules of baseball basically to make that happen and it still wasnt 100% he was going to skip the minor entirely.
  8. He wasnt "about to make the majors" he would still have had to go through the minors. Many top prospects dont make the majors or struggle for a time. If someone offered you $9 mill guaranteed and requiring working through the minors or $35 mill and starting QB in the NFL from day 1? Its an easy decision.
  9. the weirdest part was on every third down he would say "Lets see what my pal Spags dials up here!" like Spags is some defensive genius. The Chiefs defense stinks, and can't dial up anything. He did the same thing 3-4 times.
  10. Based on what Ive seen, seems like both games the teams bracketed Beasley and Diggs on every play. Basically saying "Youre going to beat us with someone else" Obviously not every team will be able to do this but its also something the Bills need to work on. Beyond that Josh's throwing motion doesnt look the same.
  11. Id prefer to not get behind by 10 points
  12. I think its good to remember the Steelers defense gave us problems last year too. If you only look at the raw numbers, Josh arguably had a better game on Sunday then he did against them last year, at the least it was very similar (more yards, better comp%, no int). The difference in that game was the pick 6 and we did establish a rhythm for a few drives. On sunday they got the defensive TD and we had more holding calls. Onward and upward I say, I think we rebound.
  13. So many of us were hoping (maybe too much) for this guys return to free up Oliver and Edmunds and others to play more to their strengths. I was always worried when "We get Star back..." was always such a key feature for how we were going to improve our run D because he hadnt played in a year. And now here we are...
  14. you misunderstood me. I was just saying those were the only 2 rookies we played last year and we "did ok". Which was a coy way of saying Im not worried about rookies.
  15. Tua, Herbert last year. We did ok
  16. Seems like most people are forgetting that Watson requested a trade BEFORE any of the sexual allegations came out against him. People thought that they only came to light because he was trying to force his way out. So...even if none of the allegations came out he still would not want to play for them. So this probably isnt just Houston deciding not to play him, its Deshaun deciding that he still doesnt want to play for the Texans. They are at am impasse: He wont play, they cant trade him.
  17. I would disagree that the largest gap is at QB. Allen was very close to Mahomes statistically last year and while I think Mahomes is better there are other positions with larger gaps. Particularly at TE. I think Kelce allows them to exploit defensive matchups that we cant because of his versatility. Beyond that their defensive line was much better than ours. Im not sure if you swap Mahomes and Allen last season the result of the AFC Champ would be different.
  18. Im sure this has been discussed, its a long thread, but aside from whether I prefer a city dome or a suburban open-air what I really dont like is not playing in Buffalo during Allens prime years.
  19. I will say Stevie. He would have been great in the role Beasley plays now because he was always open underneath but he was forced to be the defacto #1. Plus the QB play didnt help
  20. I had endless discussions with friends that misremember the details of the Bills drought. We were a losing team in totality but year-in, year-out we were never in discussion of the worst team in the league save for 2010. And until 2009 we felt a few steps away from the playoffs. 09-14 the wheels fell off a bit but even still 6 wins isnt god awful. Its just have 6 wins so many years in a row.
  21. The EJ Manual pass to Chris Gragg who was standing out of bounds was bad.
  22. the cap is very nebulous. Just restructure, move money around. Im not saying itll happen, just that having Hodgins and Sanders on the team looking "good in camp" should NEVER stop you from adding Julio Jones in an all-in year like this.
  23. Hodgins looking good in mini-camp means absolutely nothing. If Jones is available for a decent price you get him. This is silly logic
  24. Beane hasnt been overcommited either way to RAS score. Historically he will take guys all over, but this draft was different. Just for reference, some notables: Josh Allen: 9.67 Singletary: 1.72 Knox: 9.25 VoSean: 0.22 Zach Moss: 2.88 Zay Jones: 9.71 (not Beane I realize, just thought it was funny) Ed Oliver: 9.87 Ford: 6.33 Taron Johnson: 6.29 Epenesa: 4.07 This draft though, everyone was over 7 I believe except for our 7th rd WR. https://relativeathleticscores.com/2020/12/31/buffalo-bills-ras-history/
  25. I really hope this is a show of commitment and they negotiate a deal that *drastically* lowers the $13 million next year. I am all for a longish term deal that is fair based on production with some level of projection in the form of incentives.
