Worst Year Ever in the NFL for Overall Quality of Play?
billybrew1 replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know? Didn’t it used to be just the colts and pats? And the winner, usually the pats unfortunately, played the best nfc team… usually the giants? Didn’t it? -
It looks like his best season yet, it really does. Everything he does seems to be a reason. He is as sharp as they come. Always plotting, planning his next move to make the Bills better…..

Did we just teach the NFL how to defend against KC?
billybrew1 replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Indy held them to 17 a couple weeks ago…. while I do think we showed everyone how to stop Lamar and it’s true he hasn’t been the same since I don’t think we were that great this game. We played KC at KC last year and that game we really embarrassed them plus we beat them up. The score did not reflect our utter domination of them….. I thought for sure we were going to do it again this time and I did not like the way we played till the end. I think the offense should have done better and the defense should have done better. We both played rookie CBs but ours are upper NFL level and theirs’ we’re scrubs. I thought Josh was going to kill them. We seemed to be screwing around on both sides of the ball to me…. We could have run more plays that isolated those CBs on our receivers one one one but it seemed we only did it three times. On defense we were screwing around too. I hate it when we play that let’s try to box him in and not actually try to rush him. You give him all kinds of time. At the end, we rushed him, and threw an interception, you rush Mahomes to beat him. You just can’t blitz unsuccessfully. If the chefs pick it up you’re done…You’ve got to be very intelligent with your pass rush. Sometimes Leslie drives me nuts! Yet he has those damn rankings, I don’t think you can really argue with his rankings….and this year we can stop the run. Maybe we were taking the run with those weird rushes? IDK? Gotta love Leslie’s rankings. You also gotta consider the whole braintrust that put this D together and developed it. McBeane has got a ton to do with it even though he states it is Leslie’s D I didn’t see Leslie looking intently at Ed Oliver at his pro day. It was McD…. -
Wow! We're Really Good at Stopping the Run!

I know it’s largely the new DL but both Tremaine and Matt seem more committed, more tough and angrier than in the past. They both are really playing very well…. They’re doing their part on our March to the Super Bowl win. -
Nice letter, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, all of KC looked great! I sure hope we get Ed and Jordan back over the next two weeks. I think we need them to try and slow down Mahomes a lot…..

If I told you... (Injury Reflections)
billybrew1 replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Ed and Jordan Phillips can play in the KC at 100%, I want the W. If they are not ready it will be hard to win that game and I’ll understand. Maybe you could say the same thing about Gabe and Dawson. They are both beat-up and we need them at 100% to get them to be super effective and have big days. I think there is a chance all four of those players are good to go in two weeks. Maybe I’m naive, IDK? But I can’t stand KC and I want homefield in the playoff game and that will be huge. We can beat them if we’re healthy…. We gotta be ready for them like we were ready for the rams only we need to avoid the TOs… -
That’s what I was going to say…. Why? that’s apart of the Bills…. Though I honestly think this team has a more solid 22 and a deeper roster as well. Much deeper. Do a man for man comparison man for man and it’s the new team that wins… Especially in the weapons department…. Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed…. We had a good backup RB then too but that’s where the talent really ends…. Of course, the new team happens to be almost completely injured right now…. 😭

One thing you have to understand is tua really wanted to play. He was in on it as much as anyone. He wants to be a great QB and is willing to do stupid things to try and make that happen. It just blew up in his face and everyone else’s…. I think I have seen this before though…. I thought a QB was done because of concussion syndrome yet he was able to come back. It went away for him….

Not in Baltimore that’s for sure… Good luck! I lived there for three years and have always had inexplicably poor chicken winds. when in Rome do as the Romans do eat seafood.

Brett Kollmann Breaks Miami Dolphins coverage schemes vs Bills
billybrew1 replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall
They were terrible Sunday but that was their worst game. Not bad vs. the rams or titans…. They’ll be better with Morse back. It could be trouble with Brown. Cross your fingers he bounces back this week…. -
We lost because we bogged-down in the redzone far too often. I think not having Morse definitely contributed to that… It also could be true that Gabe was not right…. I also wonder why Knox has not been targeted more? Is he protecting Brown all the time?

Why exactly are we favored by 3.5 in Baltimore?
billybrew1 replied to Adamb412's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have the best player in the NFL. -
I don’t think so….the Bills have led the league with the least amount of injuries since McD took over and I don’t think we did anything new this offseason. Mostly….bad luck, it has happened to us now…hopefully we can bounce back from this…. Gotta take a close look at the injury report and find out who can come back and who cannot….. I think the Bills lost Micah Hyde - A huge loss of a big team leader….. and Tom Doyle. A loss definitely but it is unknown how big of one as far as I know…. Who else? Hopefully all the rest can slowly make their way back but these next few games are a real gut check missing a lot of talent. We need Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox to produce some offense. We need to greatly improve our redzone O from a week ago…. I don’t know who plays three-tech for us this week or who plays CB…. We’ll havta see… Meanwhile, I hope Tre White is feeling stronger every single day….

I’ve watched JJ Jaquon Johnson for a few years now and I have full confidence in him. I think he has elite anticipation. Damar Hamlin has been here two years and I’m not so sure about him. Both are lessor athletes to Poyer and Hyde, but I don’t think it will really matter that much….we’re talking split seconds here…

Oliver, Philips, Hyde all out against the Dolphins.
billybrew1 replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
Should point out that the fish probably have a better defense at this time though I don’t think it is going to matter…. As far as our defense goes Brandon Bryant and CJ Brewer are pretty good and hopefully that’s the last injury to the secondary for now…. -
All-22 Grades for Bills/Titans (The Athletic)
billybrew1 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just about everybody is going to look bad going against Jeffery Simmons. Saffold is a plug and play guard. Just not against the NFL’s elite of the elite like Simmons. The game plan was sound, Simmons did not really effect the game. Last week, Bates got destroyed vs. AD. What are you gonna do? Donald didn’t really effect the game either… Go Bills! -
Patriots and Jets this Weekend - Hope They Lose.

I don’t know. I would like to see the jests not pick in the top five for once…. A few Ws might do that… Am I tempting fate? Maybe it’s best to see the jests coach get fired and seee them start over? -
I don’t even miss drafting higher because now we draft better than before drafting much later and Beane like to keep picks and use them. So the draft is even more exciting! We nailed the sixth round this year!
