Da bears. heh-heh-heh, Brady....LOL

I can’t believe a pro coach, nagy, made such a huge mistake. SOB
-
Boy, you can really get a feel for how well our offensive line is playing from watching this game.
-
All of this, 100%, was just part of the process. He was bringing his QB along in every way imaginable. He cut him loose when Josh and the whole offense was ready. The timeline, Taking three years to build it is very good, imho. I think this kind of obvious when you look at the whole three years. You want your very young QB, ready and his offense, ready, when you give it your best shot (at creating a franchise QB.) He did not surrender his defense very much in building the offense. The defense will come around if his players remain healthy. The chefs make up is very much like that of the Bills. Both franchises spend a lot on defense and value it highly. The chefs D kept them close in the Super Bowl and again last week vs. the pats. Offense only is just a big pile of bull-crap.

Will Carr follow Fitz in targeting Levi Wallace?
billybrew1 replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said. Tremaine was awful last week, whoever the LDT was also poor. We’ll see if we can slow down a running game this week. I’ll tell ya, I rewatched that Houston playoff game a couple of times and Star really played well in that game. He made critical third and short stops for us and know he is gone. This will be a great test to see if we can stop the run. -
Will Carr follow Fitz in targeting Levi Wallace?
billybrew1 replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, Carr can try, but It’s going to be tough with Levi on the sideline..... Josh Norman gets his shot this week. Somebody has to sit. This is a good problem as Levi is a good football player. We are doing what we are supposed to do, we are trying to get better. Hopefully, Mr. Norman can find the Carolina magic and really solidify our secondary adding toughness and big play ability. (Now, someone has to get Tremaine convinced he is a star and have him play like one. Then, we can play with KC ....) -
Bills vs Raiders—— Pick the score

31 - 20 Bills. Go Bills! -
, What they said! BPA @ 32! And I mean it, but let’s elaborate... Probably No: P, K, S, QB, LB, G, RB...maybe C too.... meaning we could go best: WR, TE, OT, DT, DE, or CB available. i tip my hat to those who say DE or CB because I understand it, but I wouldn’t limit myself.... Maybe even LB if we could get a true blue-chipper somehow.... The Bills drafted guys that took a really long time.... I’m still waiting on Edmunds (I know he was an alternate pro bowler but he is raw in a lot of ways) ....Oliver doesn’t look like things are clicking, Allen is one of the most valuable players in the league and I’m not complaining but he was a long-time developer and he STILL is going to get better maybe much better. Now, Epenesa has to switch sides, right to left and that’s a difficult switch that takes time to master, so it’s going to take him awhile. Maybe next year we could draft someone with a short adjustment period? Is Williams the answer at RT? I still haven’t noticed anyone beat him. Can we sign him? Can he run block? I haven’t noticed how he run blocks either way but the line in general can’t get push if the DL is thinking run. I think they are getting better at it week to week though.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Rams (The Athletic)
billybrew1 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d say we got killed in the run more than the pass and it washere where Tremaine Edmunds stunk. He didn’t see where Henderson was going and seldom met him in the hole. It is debatable to fans whether his job is simply to watch a gap or find the ball but at some point you have to see the runner go right and he should go to meet him, he did not. He was also very easily taken out of plays by any type of blocking KC and he seemed to not try to beat it, he simply gave up. Edmunds drove me crazy most of the game (when the Bills were on D). i don’t care what anybody sez, You don’t need all-22 to watch Edmunds. Henderson just kept cutting back from the called hole, and no one was there, over and over. Edmunds would stand behind the pile as Henderson ran down feild. -
What did so many of the draft experts miss about Allen?
billybrew1 replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think scouts missed that a QB could be great while not having traditional QB stances and footwork. To be honest, I don’t understand how he does it either. He’s just so strong he just gives the ball a little push and wham, it’s a bomb. I was never a anti-fan of Allen, I’m too big of a Bills fan. Once we drafted him, I just supported him. I learned more and more and more since we’ve had him. But his footwork is completely unconventional imho, but it works . I really think McD and Beane and Daboll especially, did a fantastic job bringing him along slowly and surely. the weird thing is, he is definitely still getting better and he does things no QB ever did before with his unique blend of size, and strength with speed and athleticism. How good could he get? It’s possible he gets better than MaHommes imho... Say, like the middle of next season.... He does these things, and we think he’s crazy, or out of control, but I think he can do them. We are missing plays not really catching on, that no QB did these things before. -
I enjoyed that. I thought it was well-written and performed and had some nice humility in there as well. thanks.

Time for Tyler Kroft to step up EDIT: He Did!!!
billybrew1 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He played about 30 snaps last week if I remember correctly, he helped block on a few of those longer runs by Singletary and Moss. I hope we go to him Sunday, I really do. I like him to at least get targeted for a TD tomorrow. I think he’ll catch it. He’s big, tall, a very good blocker and athletic for someone that size, I hope we go to him but the problem has been he blocks too well. We don’t have an over abundance of good blocking skill players, so.... We have him block. -

I’m with you 100%. If we can get a great two-way TE, go get him. If Knox turns out great we’ll have two. -
What about this Deon Lacy guy?
billybrew1 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Deon Lacey is a very good ST LB, so he may give us a lift there. Even if Milano starts, he has a hammy, so it’s very possible he doesn’t last long. Edmunds never lost the red jersey all week and no one has speculated as to what’s wrong with him so I put him at 50/50 because while he was in red, he practiced all three days at least some. Both will talk it over with trainers and coaches Sunday morning. I’m hoping for at least one to play. If both play, I think the Bills could shock theworld and win easy.... 31-20. Pretty boastful comment for a guy who hasn’t posted lately.....but Allen is a force of nature and Miami’s O played better than everyone thinks last week. -
While i agree the sample size is small and we've had a couple easier matchups, the classic QB rating (which I think is what we're talking about; not QBR) is more of a function of an offense than a QB..... Perhaps Kyle has found a better team or is a late bloomer or both....

Met Antoine Winfield last night
billybrew1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'd make my 25 favorite Bills fer sure. What an amazing player! His play vs. the run was revolutionary. Never saw a corner like that pre or post Winfield. Tom Donahoe's biggest gaffe was signing lawyer milloy thus dooming any chance of retaining Winfield..... Just idiotic. Go Bills! -
Angst in New England - Love It

Love it, though it sounds an awful lot like Bills' fans...., Go Bills! -
We have to improve at guard and QB and our defense has to gel, especially the back seven. Those three things and injuries are the only things I can think of holding us back. The top three are very doable. The line hardly know eachother yet, and there is Richardson who will improve and if Pears doesn't improve there is always Urbik. EJ had a few questionable passes plus a horrid series, the one where woods had to make an exceptional play to prevent an inteception... That series coulda cost us, but EJ is learning and gaining confidence all the time... I think he could easily get good enough to be the guy.... He is so much better than last year which shows he can improve; he has all the tools, why can't he keep getting better and better? The back seven improvements are kinda obvious, they are very young and largely new or newer, with a new coordinator. Gilmore is coming off three injuries and is going to need time to gain confidence in his body. If they get a chance to get and stay healthy and truly gel, we should have a much better D than last year and that is saying a lot. I think they'll keep big plays down and really increase turnovers by hard hitting (toughness) and route jumping (know-how) etc.

What have YOU done today to beat Chicago?

I ate some ambrosia. -
I'm starting to sense some sarcasm here....

EJ and CJ Sammy, Williams and the D Enough already; Win!

He knows what kind of line he has and what kind of line the opponent has. The Bills O-line has trouble getting push in short yardage situations. I am sure he prefers running for first downs too.

Official Doug Whaley Pros and Cons List
billybrew1 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think letting both levitre and rhinehardt go without replacing either is a better way to communicate what happened than signing legursky. Going into last season with no depth at CB and only four viable linemen. Hated the Kolb signing. Should Chris Williams turn out to be as bad as PFF sez he is, i think in this day and age, the GM has to go. I watched him in the first two preseason games and while he doesn't really impress, he didn't suck either.... I don't blame him at all re: Byrd, he wanted out; f### Byrd. I think we are very weak at TE. The plan didn't work at all. I think Lee Smith is our best TE right now. I think Lee Smith is a very good #2 TE....not what you want in a #1 at all. Right now, the O-line doesn't block any better than last year. If hughes gets a lot of sacks, they have to sign him or get a lot using the F-tag.... My thoughts are EJ is playing very well compared to last year, I think he might make it, especially if the line gels. I think (after having drafted EJ) whaley did the right thing by doing all he could do to help EJ..... I read a great article once that explained that the rookie QBs that make it, generally have the team to do so. Aside from guys like Luck, I think they are right. I hope the line stays healthy and gels. I hope EJ stays healthy. I hope the secondary gels. I hope Schwartz has a very clever defense that changes week to week to match opponents. I want to our whole starting offense on the field together for the first time and at 100%. I want to see CJ get a lot of plays in a row. Sammy. (That is all). I want to see Super go all our. I want to see our special teams look sharp and win one (starting in week one). -
Is EJ Manuel a slow starter in each game ?
billybrew1 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. I don't see us having a lead too much in the first three quarters vs. Chicago. But I think we can stay close and take off mid-way through the third quarter. We need special teams to win their battles and the defense to force some punts and keep it close.
