Parallels Between the Knicks and Bills Offseasons
billybrew1 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 1990's team lost Marchibroda, then Wolford, then Polian....... This one is staying together! LOL! Except Daboll! This one is going to win it all! I hope this year! If not, next! Go Bills! -

Bruuuuuuuuccccce played at around 265 and he was never overpowered....... IDK? Bruce was 2" shorter.... As long as AJ has really developed those gluteus maximuses.... -
Josh Allen: Contract extended through 2028
billybrew1 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen could have demanded more $$$ or less time. In a couple three years his pay is going to be low. We have him for eight more freakin' years!!! The Bills are set to be great for eight more years. It could be so that in four years, we could build a Super Bowl team reasonably because our QB salary at that time won't be nearly as high in relation to all QBs. We could also go for a Super Bowl next season as Josh's huge money doesn't kick in yet, I think...IDK? I just got this feeling we're going to build a Super team next season..... That by next year,Groot is going to be our front four blue chipper that we need so badly.... and that he is going to have help in Ed, AJ and Boogie.... -
I haven't heard anything but I'm thinking cam isn't a great player and you really need to be a great corner to play at that size. My thoughts on Wildgoose is that they liked his numbers: size, arm length, speed, athleticism and they think he's a comer. In essence, a nice lump of clay to mold. I think he will take time and really should be on the practice squad this year. I think we need a. Vet in that spot, behind Wallace and Jackson. Corners can thin out in a blink and I don't think we want Wildgoose in there this year. Like most fans I was very surprised we didn't take a corner by the the third round. The Bills really haven't explained this yet either. Wouldnt everyone freak out if the Bills ended up signing not one player, not two, but three players before the end of camp? LOL, Ertz, a corner and a DT! C'mon chefs, let's go! Lets have at it! Is there a DT available that won't budge vs. a run game? I don't think the CB needs to be expensive necessarily. Just a good fit for solid depth. Maybe draft someone to tryand beat out Wallace or Jackson next year. How valuable is Taron Johnson in FA I wonder? Is he going to be another McD player that isn't seen too valuable in any defense but McD/Frazier's? Could be. I really like him. From his rookie year on. A great fourth round pick. I hope we can keep him. I think there's a reason he immediately starts after being injured. He is easily the best we have at nickel. He's a sure starter for us. I think there's a good chance the market isn't too crazy for him. I guess that is an excellent thing about our defense, no one else plays it. At least, I don't think anyone plays D like us.....

Wanted to add that I do get you about a Kumerow. While this all could be legit and the coaches are thinking Kumerow is the sixth right now it also could be largely fabricated for the Bills to get a sixth rounder from someone as the Bills wisely covet any and all draft picks. (I really liked their trade down this year to get another sixth rounder. I think Beane has learned thru self-scouting that trading up is generally unwise. You do it when your almost positive and really need that player, but that is it. Tradedown get more shots. Or stay put, You are not sure at all how other teams rank their board (very often completely different from yours). I think we're seeing that now, Beane is learning.... Football is so much fun to follow. I can't wait to see how our young players are advancing. Even Tremaine still. Is Leslie just blowing smoke about Edmunds ability to make more splash plays this year? While he definitely is young enough, it feels like he has been here forever. Then after Tremaine's it's the 2019 draft. Ed, Cody, Knox and Devin could have super monster years for us or sort of just be there. Which is it going to be?! Then the 2020 draft and AJ! Can AJ beat his draft position? Match it? I think he is shoe in to match it, but I want him to be like a #1 pick! Can little Moss be a power back?! Can Davis keep his huge role in our offense? Does he or Sanders get more targets? (I think it goes Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis, in that order. Sanders is a very good WR. Then we drafted Fromm, Bass, Hodgins and Dane Jackson! That could turn out to be a great draft! Especially considering we didn't have a #1 pick or that it was Diggs! Bass seems like one of the better picks in the whole draft! What a kicker! Finally we come to this year's draft.... Did Beane outsmart everyone? Should Groot have been drafted in the top ten? Top five? I sure hope so! The 2021 draft was all about getting better, getting bigger, getting tougher along the lines! If we did it I see multiple Super Bpwls in our future!

It happens! Look no farther than Buffalo. Look no farther back than two seasons. So Alexander was discovered by..... Rex Ryan. The only good move he made. But man, he was good. His STs were superb but he brought it at LB equally well. Let Buffalo be the place where older drifters find their game! Gilleslee, DE Phillips and that karate-lacrosse- STer - WR made big in Buffalo as well recently.... All three from Miami! Let Brenda be the fourth! Go Bills!

McKenzie is still young enough to earn a better contract with another solid year in Buffalo. If he can just repeat his success as a kicker and be a full-time returner, someone should offer him a good chunk of change next season. Though I thought he was gone this year. I bet he was offered more but not enough to leave Buffalo. I would think he wants about one million more (than Buffalo can pay him.) We sure are lucky to have him back, imho.... Very valuable fifth WR and SB winners are all about depth. And I say this year, our sixth receiver gets over 250 yds. Daboll is going to use all his useful weapons. He even used Roberts last year and he was not that effective. The winner of Hodgins/Kumerow should be pretty good. And we still could end up with Ertz and go.... Zach, Dawson, at TE. That sounds right to me.... Everyone would lose Knox watching everyone else.....If Knox reads the play right. We'll see..... To me, Allen, Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Ertz, Singletary sounds totally all-pro with no holes. Yes, we could have a young Adrian Peterson to upgrade RB but Devin will do nicely.....

PFF ranks Bills offense as elite
billybrew1 replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By all accounts, the offense is going to be even better this year. And we all know we should be no lower than #3 now. This whole Bills team (knock on wood) should be better than last year. -
The DL cuts will be very interesting come September. Of course, all the cuts will be but DL the most I think. What do we do about Fromm? Some have Brenda as a lock but I don't. Jaquan Johnson has a case of the toos.... Too short, too light, too slow, yet he is a defensive genius with super quick play recognition, is that enough to take Marlowe's job? I think it is but he is no lock. Wildgoose? What did McD see in him? Why haven't we signed a vet to replace Norman as we always brought a vet in under McD? I think it will be weird if he makes the 53.... It sure would help things if the Bills could get by with five LBs but who does that? LBs are generally core players on teams. Are our athletic DEs athletic enough to play STs well? I can't see carrying ten DL but I also can't see waiving any of those ten so something has to give. No, I don't buy into the three DT theory. Most teams we play will try to control the clock by running the ball and I don't like any of our DTs as a great run stopper, we definitely need four. Hard to imagine the Bills as a team you don't want to get in a scoring race with but I count two teams on our schedule that would be OK with that; KC and Tampa. The rest are going to try to run it a lot. NE in particular but far from the only one. When we need our run game to shine is when we take big leads. Keep our QBs (yes, both) healthy and not dropping back too often. We need a better run game to ice games. We're still going to have to pass, but we need to run it at least 50% once we're up, imho...I can envision Tribusky coming in much than Barkley or most back up QBs. Trust in Tribusky I say. Get JA off the field. We have him, play him. Get up by 21? send in Tribusky. Imho, we promised not to trade him, but man, if we could get a second or even more, like a second and a fifth, that would make us players in next year's draft. Either way the Bills are huge winners for signing him. We could play him vs. Atlanta.... or just let Josh play a quarter....We could play him differently than any back up in a long time. Maybe since Daryl Lamoniica! Cool.... im not suggesting to "try" another QB just to play him when we take a substantial lead. That's gonna happen a lot, yes? I wanted JA out of the game quite a bit last season but Barkley couldn't be trusted.....Play him when we can or trade him I say!

Training Camp practice and Media Sessions 8/5
billybrew1 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! Viscous take But probably accurate. All our TEs are better blockers than Scott Chandler because Lee Smith was there to show them that it is possible to execute a block on so and so pass rusher and I think that helped a lot but at the same time they really can't do it like Lee. It was smart to get that seventh rounder from Atlanta as I thought he was untradeable and we reduced our cap some through the trade but what are we going to do now? Can Gilliam block? What about putting Brown in there? That'd be cool to see but a guy like Watt might run right passed him. Knox is a tough guy and has the athleticism but is not that good of a blocker..... It is such a hard job to block a pass rushing specialist at 250#....Just crazy hard to stop them with space. When they line up wide and go either way, it's crazy tough. I think that is maybe the toughest job in the NFL...Those pass rushers are fierce! IDK? I couldn't block anybody.... I am a Lee Smith fan and was hoping he could coach up others to do it....Maybe that is something we need to get better at to hit the next level? Daryl Williams impressed the ***** out of me blocking Watt last year. Very strong and very athletic. He should be able to run block just fine if he can do that. I predict the Bills run a lot better this year and I predict the TEs are better (just not great). -

I don't think it matters if McD told him or not, he made a poor play about six times last season (that he came out of the endzone and ended up at around the ten. Way too often, imho.... McKenzies problem was fumbling and I think he has cleared that up by gaining a ton of confidence. How could anyone not be a McKenzie fan? How many TDs was he directly involved in? In how many touches? I think he had 8 or 9 TDs on the year counting his TD return and his passing TD (a beautiful throw.) Anyway, I'm a huge fan and can't Billieve nobody offered him more to leave Buffalo. That was a mistake and he is going to make them pay as WR#5 and either the KO or PR guy (maybe both? I think he is too small for both but what do I know?) What a Daboll Darling though.....He is a DD....and a lock for the roster. I wish Stevenson was ready so we would have more speed on teams and the offense. But he clearly is not, he'll be redshirted on the IR, watch.... The Hodgins vs. Kumerow battle I think is real even though Kumerow is 29 the Bills want talent in that position for this year. Can Kumerow return kicks? Daboll is going to use the #6 WR at times as he wants to keep the miles as low as he can on his stars. Sorry Mr. Diggs, If Daboll has it his way you're getting less attempts this year. (I think Beasley's touches go down as well. Sanders is going to take a big chunk plus it is better to save Beasley for the big games (as one guy simply cannot watch him from the slot.) and no one can watch Diggs one on one either (unless the refs let the CBS hold). Sanders is also a very tough assignment. Our four-wide is going to be soooo deadly....Mwa-ha-ha-ha! Bet on the Bills, gents! JA all the way! (Notice: all bets are off vs. KC who not only are a tremendous team but currently hold a stigma over our Bills). Are we ready to destroy that?! That's a tough task. KC has it all....The triplets, a run game and a good D, even very solid STs....Are we ready for all that? IDK? Go Bills! -
Mission Minnesota - The Bills 1991 Preseason
billybrew1 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is Manny a playoff team this year? They had lots of injuries last year and everyone is back healthy. They had quite the O last season. Running and passing. How did they lose so much!? (7-9) A: they allowed 479 points! Scored 430.... the Bills for reference: scored: 501 (wow) and allowed 375..... The Bills will beat that point differential this year. Minnesota? They're in the week NFC. Have both a run game and pass game. They have a lot of defenders coming back and brought in other D help.... So.... they should be a playoff team this year..... No? -
Dear Stadium Wall.... Beane has spoken (See: Buffalo Rumblings) - please (someone) put up another Zach Ertz thread. Yes! The Zach Ertz rumors live! (Though I'll be happy with a dominant DT or CB or Zach, if Beane feels we can beat the chefs this year) Otherwise, wait till next year! Maybe we can build a better team next season? Maybe this is the best year? I don't know? Gotta go for it one of these JA years though.... Go Bills!.

I'm Afraid..... The Bills DL is looking good so far because our best OL is still out..... Im also afraid..... Of what will happen to the Bills should something serious affect Dion Dawkins.... We go to rook from the third round? Yikes! He had better be a quick learner. Tough ask as OTs taken in the first round commonly struggle as rookies.... And Fans tell me not to look at Hart as a possibility. Right now, it's Brown or bust, baby! C'mon Dion! Get yer self healthy! I also read that some DL are beating Williams which is definitely a legit accomplishment..... Sad to hear, but it also shows some good promise hearing that Addison lost a baby bro (that's tough!) and seriously struggled with covid because of the isolation. He might be a lot better this year. And goodness knows we need all the help we can get along the DL.... LOL! I completely forgot McD and Leslie's defense ranked second and third in yards allowed in 2018 and 2019.... If we were to play at that level again it gives me hope we can dethrone the AFC Champs. If we can beat KC in week five, we can win the Super Bowl. No doubt about it. (We can also easily get that coveted bye week if we beat KC in week five. If we beat them I say we go 16-1.... with a loss to Tennessee in a letdown game following the chefs game. We recover to beat Tampa later in the year because Josh is just unstoppable and our defense is very respectable. Special teams too.

Boy, I gotta tell ya, you certainly qualified for being bold on most of your predictions, good luck. I always have to carefully discern is this something I want to happen or do I think it really could happen? I'll try.... Bills first: The Bills sweep the AFC East for the second year in a row. I really Billieve this is going to happen! (LOL) Devin Singletary matches his career high yds./carry once again and gets 5.1 yds/carry coming second in the category in the NFL. The NFL: The Rams continue to be snake bitten and do not make the playoffs in 2021 causing the Rams HC Shaun McVay to need major professional help around the clock Until spring. Az. And SF both make the playoffs with SF winning the division in the last week and sending the rams home. So, Seattle doesn't make the playoffs either. (I really think the rams are going to win it, but they are trying so hard, injuries could strike and there's nothing they can do about it. What an exciting division though.... Every division game like a playoff game, nutty. The opposite of the NFC West is the NFC East. I say your Washington prediction looks fairly most of the season but in crunch time, Fitzpatrick starts throwing into right to the opposing LBs and the skins fall apart without "good" Fitzpatrick.... End up 9-7 and maybe win division, maybe Dallas...who cares? No one because the winner is knocked out in the first round by an NFC West team. (Tampa or GB gets the bye with their own easy schedules.. Bonus prediction: the AFC East comes in second in total wins for 2021. The Bills sweep but NE and Miami pile up a lot of wins.... The jets won't help much causing us to fall to second. The Buffalo Bills season record is 14-3...although we lose to KC (yet again). Losses (KC, bad game makes us not ready for next week and we lose two in a row on the road this time to Tennessee before righting the ship but we also lose to Tampa also on the road. So, I predict the Bills go 9-0 at home. So, pretty good year but KC still gets home field and we still lose. Surprisingly, the Bills build a Super Winner during 2022 offseason and beat KC at home and win the conference, go to the Super Bowl and win. The Bills are able to keep the offense loaded, buy an impact FA defender and have another good draft. AJ, Groot, Boogie, Efe And Ed form a formidable DL heading into year two for Groot And Boogie. Efe (with five reg. Season sacks) decides to stay because he loves it here. The Bills add that winner, that special player, and were ready for '22.... Groot proves to be a solid blue chip player that should have been drafted in the top ten. The news comes out that if the Bills didn't extend Addison and Butler and sign Efe, Tampa would have traded up over us in the '21 draft to take Groot. With all our DL already signed, Tampa bet we weren't going DE....Groot is the biggest prize of the '21 draft when considering the draft spot. Had he played in '20, he would have been a top five pick. Go Bills!

I'm telling you, Kumerow will be a very tough waive, if that's what we have to do. I would suggest keeping seven WRs but we are no doubt going to carry AT LEAST ten DL and that alone will make it difficult to build a roster. It very well could be 11. Thats why some theorizing that Jerry Hughes will be traded. I really can't see anyone taking him or him playing for another team. I think he would just retire. But the defensive line, in a way, it's a mess. I don't think we can go with only three tackles. If we're to waive Butler or Addison, we are basically paying them anyway....So four DTs and six DE's? At DT: Star and Ed, with two of the following three: Harrison, Butler and Zimmer. I have no idea which two.... At DE: Addison and Jerry, AJ, Groot, Efe And Boogie. That's six locks (I think) and Efe, Boogie and Groot will move inside a lot. Although we absolutely need four real DTs to rotate to stop the run game. I can't see any way we keep the three DTs (Zimmer, Harry And Butler). One has to go.... Butler is the biggest and strongest and has the most guaranteed money. Zimmer plays the lowest, plays with power and speed. Harry can play both tackle spots, he bleeds process, is a great human being but how is his twice operated on knee? I say the Bills keep the best run stoppers and that might be Harry and Butler depending on their training camps and ultimately Harry's knee I think. The loser will be a highly sought after PS player.

Training Camp practice 8/3: Pads come on
billybrew1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bet Gentry makes the PS though!!! Josh CAN have his buddies here and close....I hope we don't have to activate him though... He'll probably be on there with.... Is duke out of qualifying for the PS? I say Stevenson goes IR. Hodgins or Kumerow loser hopefully signs up with us... I understand Hodgins has more value in the form of potential but that sixth guy is going to play WR this year at some point and he is going to play STs.... So I'd go with the better player now unless they think Hodgins potential is high. Something to consider.... At TE, I cant help but hope we get Ertz. The Bills have to be a lot better than last year to beat the chefs and I think Ertz helps a lot in that regard. However, if it doesn't happen I'll be happy with who they end up with....Knox - Hollister - Sweeney? Or does Singletary love a FB? IDK? Maybe? Or Daboll love having a TE? I doubt we keep him personally. -

Wowzers! What a fan! Root some for me and thanks for going and good luck and have a fantastic time.... (I never saw the Bills in an away game, but if they ever go to LA, I am going to try hard to go.... I really hope we upgraded and win....what a win that would be for us. One of the biggest ones ever imho... The chefs are f***in' good and that's what would make it such a colossal W. Go Bills! -

So, Allen is going to hit a lot more deep passes this year; combined with a better run game it will force defenses to cover every single blade of grass all the time. -

If we in fact do get these two upgrades becoming real, I say, bring on the chefs!
