Who are the Bills great players? O: Beasley, Sanders, Dion Dawkins, MM Mitch Morse (who's going to look better this year between Ford and a slimmed-down Feliciano) Diggs And Allen, But all our starters are good football players (except for maybe Knox) plus guys like Davis, McKenzie, Moss and more are also solid. Defense: I think Jerry is two years removed from this list. Poyer, Hyde and White but all our starters are good football players though I think we go either DT & CB high next draft. And Tremaine Edmunds is a tough nut to crack. While he clearly is a good football player it is very questionable if he is worth an expensive extension. (And if it is the right move for us going forward.) Huge year for him coming up, I'll be rooting for him. I think Milano's contract is about right, can we sign Edmunds to similar money? I sure would like signing an impact DL next spring! Ed is the next contract. He certainly isn't justifying the pick. Maybe this year. Can we stop the run this year? Can we rush the passer? Our DL really needs to really play all out when they hit the field as we are definitely going to carry ten DL minimally. I like our chances doing that. I think both Jerry and Addison can improve with less snaps. I hope we go back to being a top yardage defense again this year but with a much better pass rush. Give us the Super Bowl if we pull both off..... I like that it appears we have some back up LBs this year.... Where was that Andre Smith last year?

I also noted Basham get a super fast jump with explosion on the snap on one play.... Very impressive game after just watching it.... -
The 2nd best team in the AFC East is…
billybrew1 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aside from maybe the Bills backups, no one else is close to NE.... I despise them but, They have a pretty decent team.... The Jets are a joke. Miami has great receivers this year and a great secondary, but that's where it ends. Miami might give an interesting game for three quarters but we blow them out one game too... No way Miami beats Buffalo. No way NE beats us either but they will make it closer one game....probably with a ton of help from therefs. Bottome Line: We sweep the East again. KC is our challenger, Tampa too..... Buffalo is all alone ranked #3 in the NFL, imho. We are solid everywhere and We have an elite offense. We will have no ugly stats this year (barring catastrophic injuries.) Knock on wood. But NE is a distant #2 to answer the question. -
More than New England? Youre crazy. I hope we beat the Pats thirty times in a row by thirty. Then, maybe then, the hate will let up. I got nothin' against the chefs. They're f-fen good. Naturally, Idont like them, but hating them isn't there yet for me. I wonder if we can beat them this year? We're going to have to be healthy, #1. Number two,Josh has to play his ass off and no one can let him down. #3 gotta move Mahomes off his spot and make him nervous. We gotta pressure!. #4 gotta cover the twins for KC. We failed miserably at this last game. It was shameful. #5 gotta win the STs battle. Hard to do but Then we win.... Go Bills!

Bills sign RB Kerrith Whyte and CB Tim Harris
billybrew1 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Singletary, Moss and Wallace (did he play?) sure looked good Saturday. I really liked the way both looked Saturday. They sure looked like pros to me. Maybe not Adrian Petersons but good, tough NFL backs. Devin has some of the best quicks around the LOS and just fantastic shimmies and shakes with being not the easiest to tackle, Moss just brings power, he's small but you had better be ready to tackle hard or he's going to keep going. If Daboll knows how to use Breida, he sure ain't showing it. I think Breida loses A LOT of value if he can't return kicks and I think Whyte gains a lot because he can. The Bills have to collect cornerbacks for their practice squad. I feel they'll be bringing in guys all fall (unless they get lucky and find good ones that no one steal from us!) I like that we play a little different back there and that guys that fit us don't fit a lot of the league..... Go Bills! -

I think Kumerow is out now. Stevenson is eventually going to be the returner. So, that's one spot. I have Daryl DJ Johnson over Eve right now as DJ is tearing it up at DE, plays a lot of STs and is younger and cheaper. That's all I know.... -
The six-foot-six, DE Quartet: Efe, AJ, Groot And DJ..... Gonna swat some balls! 🏈 No six-foot-fivers allowed! Go Bills!

AJ, Groot, Boogie & DJ Daryl Johnson; The fearsome foursome. Look-out, Baby! Go Bills!

But do we have a more aggressive defense this year? So far it's just preseason. We have 11 DL! Let's use them and go all out every play! I hope we stick with this aggressive defense most of the time (all?). Where has this D been, guys? Go Bills! -
Bills Secondary Ranked 2nd by Sharp Football
billybrew1 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading about the defensive front sevens where they have the Bills at #17 is a real crapshoot. The Bills are very hard to gauge with their 11 man DL. I think the worst it will Be is decent, but the best could be top ten. The Bills aren't the only team with new personnel counting on returning covid misses, Rookies or injured players returning. Therefore I think their rank should be.... second level of three levels. We're in the not sure level, but could be level with a lot of teams. On the downside though, the Bills are one of the few teams with no surefire blue-chip player in the front seven.... imho anyway. We might be special if two of five young players can excel. Groot, boogie, Ed, DJ And AJ. I think we have a good shot here. Then we can play a recommitted Addison less and Jerry Hughes less. I think less is more with both guys at this point. If Star can give us 40 high quality snaps a game. I think Harry is a lock and will have his best year as a Bill if he stays healthy. I worry what can Butler do? Zimmer is a quality rotation guy. Then at LB we might have reasonable back ups for our starters who tend to get beat up? Can Tremaine step up? I don't know? It depends on how you look at it. He has been pretty consistent for good and bad since being drafted and he has already played three seasons. Why would he get better now? Because he just turned 23. You're kidding me! Nope? This is where any untapped potential lies. Can he play faster? Can he play with more confidence? More of an edge? Tougher? We'll see..... The cookie is what he is at this point, right? Maybe not. He had a tremendous eye for the all as a rookie and has sort of lost that. It would really help if he got that back and started getting that ball back for again at a consistent rate. Maybe behind our improved front seven, he finds his magic touch again. Maybe he gives it Tremaine while he is at it as well. They both better be ready to lump up some running backs because that is everyone we play plan to beat us except for KC and Tampa. Can the Bills score big to start games and make that plan look silly? Absolutely. They are going to do this with regularity this year unless injuries occur. While Daboll clearly worked on the run game this summer, the run game still will only be more of a minor piece of our offense. We are a pass crazy offense. We will try to ice games with the run as soon as teams play the pass with utmost respect. That's when we have to run successfully. Look for JA to run and pass on third and short again. We won't count on the backs very often here. JA is just too good. That will be the story of nearly every Bills game this season..... Can they keep Allen off the field? Hopefully our defense looks more like it does when we play the crows and less like it does when we play the chefs.... -
Will The Bills Beat the All Time Season Scoring Record?
billybrew1 replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows if we beat that record? I think the first thing that everyone that sez no is missing is that Josh is still improving. He is going to set the league on fire this year if his WRs hold up. Second is his WRs are better and deeper. Sanders is a solid #2 WR and Davis is no longer a rook, McKenzie is getting better, and Kumerow is gaining confidence. Third, the OL should be better. Not just because of Ford either. It's because they are advancing their games together, in the same offense with the same coaches. Maybe Knox explodes? Or maybe Ertz comes over at some point? Who knows? Lastly, our run game will be better. I won't bother repeating why again. Then, the defense should be better which should directly correlate to more scoring. -
Will The Bills Beat the All Time Season Scoring Record?

I'm just going by the way he runs. He reminds me of Thurman Thomas. Then there's the 5.1 yd. average as a rookie, that's excellent. I think he catches better this year to be more Thurman and Devin is an excellent pass blocker just like Thurman. I guess the difference between the two to me is that Thurman was an every down back and I don't see that with Singletary. I think he needs to keep his touches at around 15. So, maybe he is not as tough as Thurman? Same speed, that is for sure. Same ability to make tacklers miss. Similar vision but Thurman's was better and Devin is still learning to take the three yard run. Lastly, Devin had miserable blocking for him last year. I think the Bills led the league in contact to the RB before or at the LOS. Thurman never had a great run blocking line but he did have decent blocking in front of him. Better than Barry had not nearly as good as the RB from Dallas (his name escapes me at the moment, Smith? -

Bills Secondary Ranked 2nd by Sharp Football
billybrew1 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read all the lists. I feel Buffalo should be higher in every one but secondary. What a homer I am. Then again, we were in the conference championship game last year and it sure looks like we'll be going back there again this year..... I think our OL pass blocks extremely well and that's the most important thing. I also think t will be better this year. I think we are super deep at WR this year. I think our front seven should be a tad higher with all the many changes. I think our run blocking will be better this year, with better plays, and our backs are NFL good (though not great). Oh! Josh at #7 is a joke. He's two or three. -
I have us losing to the titans again too. For obvious reasons yes, but the big reason is that we are hungover from the chefs loss once again. The Bills absolutely know that chefs game is huge but we just don't match up with them well enough yet, we need anotheryear, imho.... Daryl Johnson, Groot, boogie, Ed, AJ will be better in 2022-23.....plus Beane gets them help next offseason. Imho.
-
I agree with you 100%. We are going to get the stealers best game. I am glad it is at home. Of course, it is the defense that worries me. Having said that, I can also envision the Bills going four wide and exposing the Stealers lack of cornerbacks and just tearing up that 3-4 the way Kelly used to. I see both ways as possibilities. Either we win a very close game or we blow them out. The Stealers cannot stop Josh in the fourth either way. Go Bills!
-
Blessed with health. I think we're far deeper this year except at outside corner and OT (no, I don't trust Brown as a rookie) We should be able to sustain non season ending injuries elsewhere. That's pretty damn good I think.
-
14-3 with losses to KC, the Titans and Bucs. We sweep the East again. We beat the fish and NE the same. One game we kill them, one we win but by a closer score. We kill the J-E-T-S twice. We lose the #1 seed to the chefs on a tiebreaker. We lose the AFC championship game once again (before winning the 2022-23 Super Bowl after having a fantastic offseason.) You're writing was very entertaining. Thanks for giving a fellow Bills fanatic something good to read this day, thanks again.... Go Bills!

Will The Bills Beat the All Time Season Scoring Record?
billybrew1 replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see that yet. We are on an uphill arc still. I think Diggs and Beasley catch less but everyone else goes up still. If defenses play the run we will keep throwing as well. Daboll takes what's given, he doesn't call by the score he calls by the defense shown. Last year, teams never got out of that run blitz/blitz defense vs. the Bills. I don't see them conceding this year until Allen starts really blowing up opponents. So, we're going to do that. PS - Diggs and Beasley will still definitely have their huge games, but the ball is going to go to Sanders and Davis a lot and if our TEs catch the damn ball, they'll get a lot of targets as well. Along with our backs.... The way I see it, Singletary will average 10 yds./catch often beating the first tackler.
