Who has been our best player so far?
billybrew1 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a good list. -
Maybe not Diggs in the backfield but I hope to see more of a more effective run game this week. I'd love to see runs out of the gun that didn't look all clumsy and uncoordinated. And in addition to that more passes from under center so we can run from under center and not have it be obvious that we are running when under center.... Kind of ornery with regards to Daboll after that Stealer game.... We have work to do. A lot of it. Everywhere on offense. Just the OL alone is a ton of week.

Bills have the ninth oldest roster
billybrew1 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And this means we are perhaps going to have a very interesting offseason with Jerry, Addison and Star coming off the roster. Will we resign any of them? I have no idea.... The Bills history under McD makes me think that if they can still play they will be back as McD hates "new." That's why we're always bringing in Panthers and at the same time, not a real lot from other teams. I'm hoping we go in a new direction personally. I want an impact player for the D if we can afford it. I hope we hope make all nine picks next season to rejuvenate the team. Of course, we'd have to draft fantastic and hope it is a deep year. We have a ton of free agents next year plus we have to decide on Ed O's Fifth year option. The bottom line is though, the Bills could really remake the roster next year if they chose to.... -
I can't Billieve I didn't see having major problems before the Pittsburgh game that we're highly compounded by the fact we had to play Pittsburgh who has Hayward and Watts and others..... Dion Dawkins missing much of camp with covid and coming back weak and ill. Plus Feliciano moving from RG to LG providing the perfect storm on the left side of the OL. How long will it take for: Dawkins to fully recover? For Feliciano to adjust to LG? For Dawkins - Feliciano - Morse to be on the same page? You really could extend that to the whole line who has someone new next to him.... Dawkins - Feliciano - Morse - Ford - Williams. They gotta get their ***** together and fast! There are no chumps coming up on the schedule...

Ty Nsekhe Taken from practice by ambulance
billybrew1 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And speaking of OL, expect two or three to be drafted again next year.... I think it's going to go..... first-DT, second-C/G, third-WR/TE, fourth-CB; Fifth - DL, sixth-OL, seventh - DB. I say we trade our sixth and seventh for an extra fifth and go DB. Build those lines! That is all.... -
Ty Nsekhe Taken from practice by ambulance
billybrew1 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One could argue that Beane knew it was time with Nsekhe and drafted his replacement on time. I liked Nsekhe. He had perfect form and never really lost but always got hurt after playing a little while. You say snakebitten, I say they signed a guy past his prime.... -
As far as I'm concerned, Feliciano is a favorite Bill, through and through. The guy goes where he is needed no questions asked. The problems that arose are because Dion Dawkins suffered weeks with covid when the two had to get things down for the upcoming season. The good news is that this is all fixable, maybe the bad news is that we won't know when. It could take some time for three things to occur: for Dawkins to come all the way back. For Feliciano to adjust to LG and for Dawkins and Feliciano to work out their complicated relationship between a guard and a tackle in the NFL.... This could take awhile, Wallers....

Why couldn't we have played the giants in week one instead?!?! -
Scouting The Miami Dolphins (Week 2 2021)
billybrew1 replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That Pittsburgh front four sure surprised me. They destroyed us helping Josh to be off and allowing Pittsburgh to cover with seven. If you can't hold out four with your five it is generally going to be a long day. It sounds like Miami kind of lucked out vs. NE? Would the author say this? I really hope the Bills thump 'em - squishing the Fish in the process. Thats what I need to see. To me, our D looks improved. I really liked Ed's and Tremaine's game last week. Disappointed the front four petered out with our big lead in TOP. So, I'm looking for four quarters Sunday. Maybe give the second string, Efe Obada more snaps to keep the front fast. On offense,I want our OL to be a wall, particularly vs. a four man rush. C'mon guys, bounce back. Even though the OL let Josh down, and even though the Stealers got to cover with seven, I thought Josh clearly did not play up to 2020 form when he was a superstar. No, no superstar looks from Allen last week. Let's face facts, Wallers, if Josh doesn't play like a stud QB, like clearly one of better players from both teams, we haven't a chance of winning the big one. We need Josh to be a MVP, it is as simple as that. I think Beane did his job and surrounded JA with enough talent, let's hope last week was an outlier and Josh, Daboll and his whole O really respond this week and put Buffalo back on top of the AFC East again. This was well-written and we appreciate it, keep them coming and.... Go Bills! -
"Pittsburgh Confused Josh Allen" - Chris Simms

WHENEVER A DEFENSE GETS THERE FAST WITH FOUR, the defense is going to have a good day, end of story. This was the problem, no further discussion is needed. We got our butt whooped. -
Does anyone else sort of avoid this place after a loss?

Yes, there are 16 frauds after week one. Lose you're out, right? -
Ah go on, this simply is too small of sample to draw anything valuable. He created his team over the last four years. It was a build. You can't draw conclusions from a build. BTW, the build is not done. In fact, next season may see a fairly big turnover. I know this season holds a ton of promise and that that's the reason there are no articles about next season, but I find next season fascinating with so many huge contracts coming off the books. And while Allen's huge big money doesn't kick in yet. It might be next season, that we truly go for it. We probably have enough money to attract someone in FA that could have a high impact plus we have nine picks in next year's draft. I'm really hoping we really hit on the 2020 and 2021 drafts and that they really lift us up next year. I also think all nine picks from next year's draft make it if they're actually drafted and I think they will be and if we hit reasonable players with all nine. My point is, next season is a rebuild year..... We keep Allen, Diggs, Dion Dawkins and White, Milano and Edmunds, Daryl Williams And Feliciano.....and perhaps get rid of Hughes, Star, Addison to name a few big contracts that perhaps are running out of gas.... We have to decide about Ed O....IDK, the team might be quite a bit different.... We really gotta nail this upcoming draft! Go Bills!

Can the Bills win a SB without a killer instinct
billybrew1 replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gameplan? It's going to come down to the same thing again. Our OL has to block their four and do it well. That's how we beat Pittsburgh the two times prior. That, and Allen has to play like one of the very best players in the NFL. Allen did in our two wins, he did not Sunday. There were times the Pittsburgh DL won last year but Allen saw them and adjusted and we beat them. That didn't really happen last Sunday. We're not going to beat the Stealers by running a lot on them. Maybe we can run a bit more against them? For us to run effectively vs. the Stealers I think Allen has to be under center. He doesn't see nearly as well passing when he takes the snap from under center. That is a problem we currently have. We can't Telegraph our runs and you can only call a few runs from the shotgun. We're clunky running that way. Maybe we can either: learn to run way better from the shotgun? Or... Maybe Josh can learn to throw way better from under center? I think this is a problem now we all face. I remember Jim Kelly ran a lot of runs out of the shotgun....At least I think we did? Maybe look at some K-gun runs? Somethings got to give in Pittsburgh vs. Oakland.... Two teams that weren't supposed to win last week.... I expected a letdown game from the Stealers this week, but I saw it was Oakland and I thought, awww, they're not good enough.... Maybe they are? -
Can the Bills win a SB without a killer instinct
billybrew1 replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's where we are right now. Still second fiddle to KC (and maybe Tampa?) Maybe the the Stealer loss brings us down with teams like the Stealers, the rams, etc..... I don't think Packer fans think the season is over either..... And they got killed by a weaker team than the Stealers supposedly and again they got killed. The Bills were up 10-0 at the half and lost by seven. That seven we gave up on Special Teams was just too much for that day vs. the Stealers... If we were to meet again later this year I am not fearful. I am concerned vs. a very sold opponent. And you know, it's probably going to come down to the very same thing again. We need to block their four well with our five. That will do two things: it will give the receivers time to beat the heavy coverage and it will force the Stealers to send five, opening up coverages.... I'll tell you what, these six players have to play much better: Allen and the OL, maybe a better way of saying it is the whole offense. From McD and Daboll , on down. (Yes, McD does have say in the offense, after all, he is the HC.) I hope Dion Dawkins' body is resting well and will soon be ready to bounce back to his 2020 form. -

What are you talking about? We lost one game! By seven points! To a team we beat two times prior! Just stop any and all of this *****. The offensive line is not soft. They got the best of our guys this game, that is all. The OL lost to maybe the best front four in the NFL. I do think the Stealers valued this game more than we did. We can fix that. I think of like Ali and Frazier, one beat the other then vice versa and so on. I think this was a growing experience for our team. Even if we can't get past KC* this year, there's next year and the one after that. * - Talk about something to be depressed about, Cleveland looked like they had them.... You have to play full bore for 60 minutes somehow. -
It's Miami Week, and That Means HAIKU

THE most important thing .... Go Bills!
billybrew1 replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And just like that, Edmunds had a quiet but great day! He looked freakin' tough to me and he was all over the place. He is going to get us wins this year if he continues to play like he did vs. Pittsburgh.... Go Bills! -
Our Solution for the Offense....Josh Gordon

Basically the same line that protected Josh last year..... The sky is not falling. We allowed a STs TD and lost by seven..... I repeat, the sky is not falling. Bring on the fish! Squish the Fish! Go Bills! -
Alpha's Good, the bad, and the ugly week 1...
billybrew1 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pittsburgh did not really blitz and that was the big problem. We horribly lost the LOS. When your front four penetrates fast and you can cover with seven there is not a lot a coordinator can do. The good news: we played this team three times and won twice. The Stealers are a tough team. In our wins we didn't pull away till later so all the games were closely fought. We won the first two because the OL forced the Stealers to blitz. They didn't have to Sunday. Additionally, Josh Allen wasn't right for most the game. We won 15 games last year because JA17 was freakin' fantastic most of the time. Not so yesterday. He has got to hit that open streak to Sanders next time. He just looked off most of the game, Pittsburgh's rush got to him, imho.... Yeah, trick plays really look horrific when they don't work. I think what a fan has to do is recall all the times they do work and then add the time DC's have to put into their week warning their players to stay in the gaps and not to take too many chances. I love trick plays ever since Parcells put them into his plans. They are part of our offense thankfully, and hopefully we are brave enough to keep running them. I bet we hit one next week (if we try one). -
Daboll on what went right/wrong
billybrew1 replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many touches did Singletary have? I thought he surpassed 15 which should be around his rate. Knox had a couple big catches and had his fair share of snaps. You don't attack a strong suite with your weak suite. WR is our strong suite, Pittsburgh's is cornerback. Our five had to block their four and couldn't get it done. We beat them twice, they beat us once. Let's move on! It's time to.... Squish the Fish! Go Bills!
