2022 RB Draft class looks pretty good
billybrew1 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't Billieve we blew it with not one but two third round picks (at RB). Boy, the wheels sure are falling off. With little cap room next season even though, Hughes, Addison, Star, Sanders and others have finished their time in Buffalo. It is crazy sounding thinking about the cap. What ever happened to getting good backs undrafted? I mean, I'm glad we have nine picks for the draft but I thought we'd have around forty mill to spend next season. Our team seems weak, small and devoid of Blue-chippers other than Allen (with White hurt). You need five or six Blue Chippers to win a SB, we're about half way there, btops. I don't see how how we're going to get three more looking back at Beane's offseasons to date. Things look snafu again. Same as it ever was. And another thing! Do we just suck all along the front seven or does McD's defense make everyone look bad? It really is hard to tell. I wonder what McD would do with a Bruce Smith? "C'mon Bruce, just walk the OT slowly back into the QB, bea team player...." Is it too late to get Wade Phillips back? Eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh......... I'm depressed. At least! Well, there's a catch.... Yes, theSabreswill also suck next season. However! They will be fun to watch as our many kids about to be Sabres make the team next season. We should have four lines of good to very good players. Just very young. It will make for some really exciting moments next season and who knows? They might surprise. We will have young and very young impressive talent on all four lines. Throughout the defense and in goal. i reccomend watching next season. -
I sure hope you're right.

Still waiting for Edmunds to grab a couple INTs like that....

Actually, it is a little from column A and a little from column B. Allen is an exceptional red-zone talent and should be used as such AND we should have better RBs and a better line....

What happens in today's game that are "small wins" for the Bills?

Brown is a huge prospect as well.... But, LOL, you're right. It seems like the cupboards are kind of bare.... -

billybrew1 replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Posted 5 hours ago It’s time for McD and the coaching staff to do our players a favor and put together a great game plan on both sides of the ball. We haven’t see them do what since the KC game. What better time? The next Patriot game. That's the oneI want to win, the next patriots. -

The only real small wins I wish to see are younger players getting better, that's it. Hopefully, some young buck has a breakout game. -
Primary Cause of Bills losing to Patriots/Colts/Titans/Steelers
billybrew1 replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought it was going to be McBeane not smart enough for sure... -
Sadly, I think we're still beat to ***** from NE..... Tampa is going to run on us too.... and stop our feeble run game..... This Bills team has Allen, Diggs (who is no kid) White (Who is gone for a year) and Dion Dawjkins (Who May be chronically ill). That's our upper echelon talent and it is very sad. We better hope Epenesa, Groot and Basham take the NFL by Storm next year. That our '20 , '21 and '22 drafts really, really take off and that Beane knows what the goal is.... (It's to win a Super Bowl, Beane!) He had better come up with an intelligent, aggressive plan and inactive it if he likes his job. Go Bills!
-
Only if.... We'd Be Super Bowl Favorite with those two in the prime and we would have beaten NE. Cornelius Bennett would have made a Better Milano....as long as we're at it. He would of stood up way better vs. that run game.

Forget improving run defense through the draft …
billybrew1 replied to Juror#8's topic in The Stadium Wall
The NFL (and just football in general) has begun with the truth that to win you must be able to run and stop the run and then you go on from there. It is extremely embarrassing that we built the team that lost last night on purpose. Never, at no time was the following sentence true. " This is a passing league?" This is a league of balance where you start to build by being able to run and stop the run. Then the QB, then everything else. Shame on McBeane. Someone should be made to pay and this clearly comes from the top... IDK? Is McBeane capable of coming up with a master plan and executing it? A plan to win the Super Bowl next season? Because that is what we should be doing. We have the hardest part to find, the QB. We have some other talent.... Can McBeane see this thing thru? I'm not even sure they know what they are supposed to be doing? If the goal is not to be bad next year they should be fired now. And make no mistake. This is not Daboll's fault. McBeane should have known that you have to be able to run and stop the run. They supplied us with the worst RB room in the league yet spent fully on it. They supplied us with a front seven that cannot stop the run yet they spent record spending on this front seven. I'm just st a fan but I know this. It is an embarrassment. -
Baloney! The Bills are set-up to improve as much as anyone next season, we just have to do it. Nail FA and the draft and we're back as a Super Bowl Favorite, Baby! (Count me as one POed fan if the Bills don't actively build a Super Bowl roster this offseason. We're setup for it, imho... That is, we don't have a lot of wasted resources and money heading into next season and we have a fixable roster. I think if we can add one dominant OL we can have a very good OL next season. Hopefully Dion can have a good offseason and come all the way back for next season. Morse has never been a bad problem. Williams might prosper with an offseason practicing at RG. We need to add a total stud LG plus add a swing OT. Feliciano becomes #1 interior sub. Then, imho, we need to add a FA TE like NE did last year (and somehow NE got two!) to pair with Knox so we can play some 12 O and offer defenses different looks. We need a big, fast starting RB of course. Maybe Singletary can be his backup, IDK? Finally, I would like a big, fast WR to play opposite Digggs. Let's give Allen some big targets. The defense needs less work but work t does need. First off, everyone in Buffalo knows we need another good DT whether we keep Star or not. If not, we need two new ones. It's looking like Ed is proving worthy of the one year bonus so there's that. We need a new fourth DT probably as well. It's time to cut ties with Jerry and Addison imho and let the kids earn their draft status byplaying. We just need the fourth end. In the back seven we are set aside from White's replacement. If there is anyone that can find one it's McBeane. Hopefully, Wallace stays along with Jackson but we add a CB better than either of them. Then we will be very solid when White does comeback. This is very fixable.... Allen will be better adjusted to betting the new defenses designed to stop him.... JA can win us a Super Bowl, imho.... build the lines! Get bigger! Go Bills!

The Bills better have an outstanding plan of building a real NFL O-Line with a real NFL RB. Thats just the beginning. We need a second TE as well. One that can block well and catch well. IDK if Sweeney can be a third TE so they should draft one to compete with Sweeney perhaps. Lastly, a truly big and fast NFL receiver for Josh would finish the spring shopping. Why can't Josh have a huge target like everyone else seems to have? We could run better with bigger receivers as well. So, a couple O-L but very good ones is key. A RB, a TE and a WR.... Now for the defense..... If Ed keeps playing we are going to have to activate his fifth year option. I don't know how the Bills feel about Star now so I'm not sure if he'll get an offer but when he played, he was clearly our best DT. One that can slow down a run game. Even if we sign him we have to add a DT high in the draft, if we let go of Star, we have to replace him separately because we are a DT down right now. Some might say we're down two. It might be time to replace Klein with a similar smart LB that is younger. We need a good CB to hold the fort at CB and provide better depth than we ever had. The proof should be in the pudding at DE. We have spent most our resources in the past two years drafting DEs. They should be hitting their primes next season and letting go of Hughes and Addison would give us the cash to rebuild the offense the right way (I'm all for clearing the house at RB, get all new ones imho....if I kept anyone it would be Singletary in a backup role.) So at end we go with Epenesa, Groot and Basham and draft another or get a sneaky good one in FA to give us four for the year. Keep Star and Ed and draft a DT high and low to give us four. Maybe Zimmer can come back for camp. Maybe Harry could be our fourth DT? (No higher....) IDK? The way we are playing this year you could look at bringing in many new coaches.... I know our DL coach was a good DC but what has he done so far in Buffalo? I loved Daboll in 2020, but it know becomes clear we built a pass only offense kind of on purpose and that's just plain dumb. I liked both Moss and Singletary better as rookies, really look hard at our RB coach. What the hell happened to our OTs? Cody Ford? Really gotta think long and hard about our OL coach as well. Maybe bring in a hard-nosed OC that can build a tough OL. Let him higher his coaches.... Note: It ain't all the coach's fault that is for sure as we are weak at OL, TE, RB, DT, CB & KR.... (yes, Knox is good but you're supposed to have three not one....Why can't we have two at least?) I'd like to see Allen running the Colts offense or even a better offense with better receivers....I admire that Colt line though that is for sure....and that run game of course.... The Bills are on the outside looking in right now with fan Billief declining heading into an all-important game at the Ralph. I sure hope we are ready....

Bills Defense Should be Insulted and Pretty PO'd
billybrew1 replied to Fried Baloney's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Colts was what our defense looks like versus a balanced offense while missing Star and Tremaine. Two irreplaceable players for the Bills D. For your convenience, a top five list of players that this year's Bills' defense cannot afford to lose: #1 - Tredavious White #2 - Tremaine Edmunds #3 - Star Lotuilielie #4 - Matt Milano #5 - Ed Oliver. The DTs are so high on the list because we have no backups behind them. Which is kind of sad, really. While it looks like we will have Star and Tremaine back, make no mistake that Tre White is all alone at #1. This defense won't be anywhere near as good without Tre White. Maybe NE cannot take too much of an advantage of White missing due to a weak arm and inclement weather? -
What makes teams physical is the ability to run and stop the run. But balance is needed to win Super Bowls....
-
Balance wins Super Bowls. You have to be mentally and physically tough to win Super Bowls. Marino never won a Super Bowl. The Jim Kelly Bills lost three of four Super Bowls losing the battle on the LOS (The giants loss was just dumb luck.). Elways didn't win a Super Bowl until they built a great defense and run game. Mahomes got his ring because the KC defense held tough and kept giving Mahomes the ball back. It's a complete fallacy that the NFL has become a passing league. It never happened and probably never will. The Bills tried valiantly (without spending a lot of dough like other teams) trying to get tougher along the LOS this offseason but they did not do enough. I hope the Bills get a great two-way guard this offseason, a big strong and fast RB, a second big and strong two-way TE to sub Knox and run the 12 offfense and a new DT for the D. Now we also need to upgrade CB for sure as well. Hopefully Tredavious is back and at full strength by next January. Beane has to enter the FA scene this spring and he had better do a great job. Then we need our best draft since McBeane took over. We had Kelly with TT, AR and BS and didn't win even one freakin' Super Bowl. Now we have The Great Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins if he can bounce back next season, Stefan Diggs. TW, some solid defensive players and we can't let all that go to waste. The object of the game is to win a Super Bowl and Josh will be at his peak next season. We have money and picks for next season and we had damn well better go for it next season. Beane needs to admit mistakes, fix them and come up with a Super Bowl winning plan. Yes! We need to be tougher which means we have to be able to run and stop the run. As well as being one of the best, maybe the best, passing teams. We had better hope to high heaven that Epenesa, Groot and Boogie impress the ***** out of everyone next season. Go Bills!
-
Star practiced in full today, Brown is completely off injured list, those are good signs. Both players being at their best are key, imho.... We have the QB matchup won, if we can be close in the LOS matchups, I think we have them.... imho, Bills have to do well in their first possession of the game and the half, that is, to do well in the scripted series. Daboll had to bust his right nut breaking down film finding us some winning drives. We had the extra three days, it should look like we had an extra three days to put in new stuff (and really, no sense holding anything back at this point, we need to win this game. Go Bills!
-
I sure hope so... We need the entire D to step up. LOL, we need our receivers to really step up as well..... no drops, no penalties. Both are lethal to our cause....we have to make our chances count with White on IR.... I hope the team is as ready and fired-up as we are. This IS the game we must win. It's in our house vs. our nemesis. They cannot win here, everyone understand? Play like the KC game. Kick day asses!

I made my pick on another thread yesterday and I too picked Tremaine Edmunds. He's so much bigger, stronger, and faster than anything we have in reserve. His tackles stick as well as he won't be dragged down the field by anyone. This is his breakout year, but I think that this this game coming up is going to gain him some national recognition. Both Star and Tremaine make this defense totally different than the one that faced the colts a couple weeks ago. We just have to hope that Star has some stamina.... Big drop-off going to Harry and another big drop-off going to Harry's backup. Hopefully, we can keep Harry's backup on the bench.... Though Star might be dying for O2 after one or two snaps, IDK? If Star can play I like our chances with Tremaine cleaning everything up and Milano knifing around making big plays.... So important for us to field our top front seven.... Maybe our ends step up in this game as well. Maybe Leslie cuts them loose a little bit. If we can get some third and longs.... Maybe our front four plays fantastic. No holding back, imho. There are no games more important than this one. I have Bass after that. I'm hoping he can make what the NE kicker cannot. Allen (and his receivers) (no ugly drops by anyone or stupid penalties from a receiver) - Tremaine (Star) - Bass. We won by six. 26 - 20. Sacking the baby QB as time runs out. No NE comebacks anymore. Go Bills!
-
It's true, Josh has to be big. Josh will make many throws his opponent cannnot. I also have Tremaine Edmunds playing the best game of his life. He gains a lot of fans after Monday Night.... Bills 26, NE 20. Bass also plays a huge role making kicks his opponent cannot. These are some of our corse strengths. Of course, Star needs to play well. Diggs, Davis, Beasley, Singletary, the rest on Offense.... Maybe our DEs can flash a bunch on MNF? I think so... Go Bills!
-
Must be a tough job, I can recall only liking Romo.... Simms..... I dunno... they fade away.... I just know I didn't like most. Howard Cosell doing MNF half-time highlights. Chris Berman And Tom Jackson..... Is that it?
