McDermott never had a young talent like Crosby.... but the dolphins traded their left tackle and the jets traded their Safety.... Both recipients had buyer's remorse though.... Houston and Seattle wished they had their picks back....

OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
billybrew1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm pretty sure the guilty party is McBeane for two reasons. One, they couldn't except their major investment Cody Ford was a failure and the second, they liked Bates to back up everything.... Coaches make mistakes like everyone else, get over it. Maybe they didn't notice Bates mature into the job? Or Maybe Bates needed to play for everyone including Bates to Billieve it? It happens.... -
Allen is the best!!!

Josh Allen was feeling the pain of today as well
billybrew1 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the pain was worst today than when it actually happened. I did not enjoy watching the KC game especially. I was laid up so I couldn't not watch it really.... oh, the pain! The pain! Really, I can't stand it. I am so sore at Leslie.... Two chefs playoff games in a row..... HE DID NOT GET HIS DEFENSE READY TO PLAY AT ALL. They looked off and tentative the entire game and goodness knows what the hell the DL was doing all game. I saw Ed make two plays and I can't recall another good play. I know we made them punt more than once, but any defense has to do more than that if it expects to win. If we play them again (especially in the playoffs) and look as soft, and make Mahomes look like god again next time I will feel so bad about that. Kind of helpless....Its not Mahomes, it's definitely us..... -
I'm still sick over that Bills game.... Maybe now even moreso....
-
Bengals decided to play defense.
-
This game doesn't seem to hurt as must as Bengals game. it's the little things.... Iv'e heard.
-
Man, now Mahommes has to ***** the bed.... or, It pays to try to pass rush. (Sigh....)
-
Mahomes is so F-fen lucky that frigin' kicker made it. What a huge mistake!
-
Ehhhh, I guess what he said. We just don't have the money. Maybe we just need more luck because it sure is going to be to get better from here on out. Our best hopes lie with Groot, Epenesa and Basham getting much better. If they can't do it.... IDK? Maybe we nail this draft? I hope McD, Leslie and Beane feel completely awful right now.... (like me...)

Eh, I'm trying to root for the Rams but really I hate everyone but the Bills.... 😭
-
Sigh, I can't stand it, that should be us, kicking the ***** out of the bengals....sob...😭

With Allen, can the Bills de-emphasize skill positions?
billybrew1 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the notion that New England didn't have have talent at WR is a fallacy. It's imperative, We've got to keep supplying JA with guys that won't let him down. I -
What would you like to see from next years offense/ new OC?
billybrew1 replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall
I Billieve you largely take what the defense gives you. Sometimes you just have to take a shot though.... I would also like to cur down Josh's runs about 75% during the regular season. This move would require more talent and depth at the RB position, imho.... We need to keep Josh healthy. -
Unfortunately, it would be exceedingly difficult to replace Edmunds or Milano, imho.... We can't even find a suitable backup. I agree that both LBs are far from perfect but both are also very good at certain things. The improvements must be made elsewhere. If you Billieve Bean, the improvements are going to have to come from in house. Its entirely possible, the Bills draft a DE in the first round once again.... I think we're OK at tackle with Star backing up Harry and Boogie relieving Ed from time to to time. We'll probably bring Zimmer back as well as a some time backup to Ed. We have three DEs for next season, Epenesa, Groot and Basham. We have to have all three of those players take a big step in development this offseason.
-
We definitely need to add more talent to the running back position. We need more talent and we need more depth. I don't think we need a quick scat back, we need a big, fast everyone down power house. Maybe there will be one in round two.... Go Bills!

This was the year, and the coaches blew it
billybrew1 replied to Rampage's topic in The Stadium Wall
On the other hand, the defense never resembled the one that won the game in week five. It was tentative and non aggressive.. You won't win many football games playing defense like that.... -

I still say it was execution. There is no defense where you are supposed to allow the other team's best player to run down the field uncovered. Period. End of story. Go Bills! -
Daboll and Frazier....have they run their course here?!?
billybrew1 replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe McD can upgrade his Special Teams Coordinator while he is cleaning house? could an upgrade be available? Nothing wrong with trying to get better in every way possible. PS I think the logical replacement for Leslie would be our DL coach. Since he was a DC in Carolina already. However not sure I like that hire as our DL doesn't look very good often enough.... I guess Ed got better this year; finally. Harry too and again finally.... My kingdom for a Bruce Smith!that's exactly what we need! Plus a DC that will feature him properly.... -

I wanted to add that I never heard of players ignoring Leslie's calls when he was in Chicago (or Minny?). that sounds pretty fishy to me.... -

billybrew1 replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall
You know I have to kind of agree with everything you said in #1. I really think our D needs to be more aggressive and our pass rush was totally inept vs. the chefs. Our players lost all 5heir confidence not exactly knowing what they were supposed to do. It really is one of the worst defensive displays I have ever seen. You're right adefense must attack to really play defense. Having said that, the team did not particularly execute well meaning it wasn't all Leslie's fault. Like, in no way was Kelce supposed to be wide-open 20 yards down the field. That was bone-headed play. Also, there was another time the fans were irate. After the last KC loss. They looked lost in that one too. The defense played fantastic in week 5. I don't understand why we in no way resembled that defense last Sunday? Sure, Tre white was gone but c'mon, they looked hopeless vs. the chefs most of the game. personally, I'd like McD to take control of the D. We are too deep to change things too much, but McD can make the necessary adjustments to get his defense playing down hill.... #2 I think Daboll deserves more credit than he gets from public opinion....Though I don't think this is a Ted Marchibroda scenario. He can be replaced. But I agree with you 100% that a large portion of Josh's runs must be removed from the playbook in order to lengthen Allen's career. I think we need to get another good RB (ideally we would have three good backs for the season) to handle a bigger load now that Josh will be running less. He needs good backs now thatJosh won't be reading theLB as much because he is not running. This is definitely NOT a troll post as I am thinking similar thoughts.... -
Nathaniel Hackett is getting 2nd interview with Jags🤣🤣
billybrew1 replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Remember when the jags did 3verything right? Coughlin,Boselli, Fred Taylor, etc.... what happened? Maybe theirs a jag FA that could really bloom in Buffalo? Goodness knows they have tons of high picks.... I'd look at the raiders roster too.... Of course though....We should be looking everywhere for talent. Not just Carolina.... -
“We can smile today because we have Josh Allen”
billybrew1 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I certainly didn't need Beane to tell me that. We'll be back next year as long as Josh is upright. No jinxes, knock on wood. However, we have to maintain that offense or even get it better while at the same time improve the D. Luckily we have Tre coming back and nine picks in the upcoming draft. Maybe we'll get what we need at 25 that would have been gone at 32? The same goes for every round, a little bit higher. Beane needs his best draft ever. Even better than 2017. either that or Groot, Epenesa and Basham and others really take a huge step up. maybe we surprise and get a name FA? I can't wait till NFL FA begins! Or better yet news that we've signed Bates, McKenzie, Wallace and Phillips..... Though I do not want to give term to Phillips, I don't think anyone will with that knee....
