  1. It's tough though cause then he's more of a sure thing, costing you more #1 money. Or he says screw it let's wait till after the season and gets ridiculous money on the open market.
  2. @JasonLaCanfora Jason La Canfora Sorry, new money avg in 1st 4 yrs is $7.5M for Williams. Its his 3rd multi-yr deal in 5 yrs. Very, very rare. Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Jason La Canfora Oh, and next up for the Bills is WR Stevie Johnson. Bet they start talkin new deal very shortly
  3. Davis as well, I wonder if they chose to go 3-4 they could move Barnett outside to replace Kelsay in some instances. Giving an LB look of Merriman-Morrison-Davis-Barnett. Merriman obviously being the rush backer.
  4. Brees really struggled early in his career, leading SD to draft Rivers 4th overall. Seems like a large investment into a QB if no one though he sucked.
  5. Practices are now closed to reporters, I would assume that would include Chris Brown.
  6. I've read his numbers aren't indicative of his ability. His tackle stats are inflated and he isn't much of a playmaker. From Yahoo's free agent tracker: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-cole_2011_nfl_free_agents_by_pos_072511&expire=1#free-LB
  7. Wouldn't it be Moats that would move back outside? I think Torbor is a goner.
  8. He's not smart enough, is Kamar Aiken still the #2 WR?
  9. Practice fodder, with all the WR injuries they needed someone to run routes on the scout team.
  10. What was TSW like back then?
  11. Scott was not good and was complained about ad nauseum when he did have to play in games for the Bills. He made the team and was forced into action due to injury for the Steelers. A guy like Pears is just as good as a guy like Scott, middle of the road NFL linemen. Funny how things like this get twisted and every player on every other team is better than the guys we have even though we had them and they were worse.
  12. Fred started last week and will likely start the season as the #1 back. Chan said as much in his post practice press conf, he feels both are #1 backs but Fred is ahead of CJ right now. They gave CJ the start in a worthless preseason game to get him some time with the first team offense. Perhaps Fred shouldn't be so sensitive.
  13. There's also rumors that Hangartner may be on the chopping block. Probably trying Levitre out to see if he can be the backup center.
  14. I think the Bills depth is fine there even without Torbor. Sheppard & White are hurt but will be back, them coupled with Moats is sufficient. Plus I'm not sure how keen those veteran players would be on signing with a bad team to fill a backup role.
  15. Russ Grimm also turned down an interview with the Bills to be their head coach.
  16. Honestly, I had no problems with anything Urbik or Pears did during their time in the game. The poor play seemed to come from the 3 that many have the most faith in (Bell, Levitre, & Wood). Wood got blown up on multiple occasions. Can't say for certain because we obviously don't know how their protections work or what type of protection was called, but since the DE went outside of Chandler and he was staying as a pass protector it would typically be his man 1-on-1. Pears has a responsibility to his area and has to make sure there is nothing coming late to his gap (stunt/blitz). If nothing shows he can try to help, like he did, but Chandler getting burned screwed that play. Also, after rewatching the play, on the play action Bailey was fooled and takes two steps towards the line of scrimmage post snap in what appears to be a blitz look before retreating into coverage. Pears had to stay home to cover for that blitz that did not come.
  17. New field? The game is in Denver.
  18. I thought Brady Quinn was their 2nd stringer?
  19. You turn the page, wash your hands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ss6L-ahwDY
  20. NickBarnett @NickBarnett NickBarnett Oh yea the rumor going around about Tj is funny... Because I think people thought I was him last night lol think that's how it started
  21. Tampa didn't draft Blount. Also, the risk still exists with these players. Ask Tennessee how they feel about taking risks on guys like Pac Man Jones, Albert Haynesworth & Kenny Britt.
  22. I think keeping 7, and realistically 8 WRs with Brad Smith on your roster is too many players from one position, not all of them will be able to see the field, thus hurting your depth and numbers at other positions to just have guys sitting on the bench.
  23. Yes, 7 is too many, at least one of them has to go. One of the airlines has NFL logos on their planes as advertising, I rode on a Pittsburgh Steelers plane on a flight to Aruba.
  24. Perhaps Easley would get picked up off waivers due to where he was drafted, Naaman would probably make it to the PS.
