So quick to be a jerk you couldn't even get the name right. It's Terrance Cody, and him starting in Baltimore is no indicator of Troups play or how they compare. If the Bills drafted Cody instead he'd still be behind Kyle Williams on the depth chart, and you'd still be complaining.
Florio predicted Bills would compete for a wild card birth. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/133956-florio-shows-bills-some-love/page__p__2232071__hl__florio__fromsearch__1#entry2232071
It really doesn't say anything. Two of those guys, Bell & Johnson, are on their rookie contracts. The other two, Jackson and Fitz, were signed before they were starting. For comparisons sake Chris Johnson was scheduled to make 550k this season before the extension. Arian Foster, the league's leading rusher last season, is only making 525k this season.
I think Pears has exceded expectations through camp and the preseason and would prefer that Hairston have the year & next offseason to develop as an injury replacement swing tackle and come in to compete next year for a starting spot.
How many OL do they typically keep?
Starting to wonder if those are the 8 that make the roster to begin the year. Esp since Levitre has been being worked at OT and C and they gave Hairston time at both tackle spots on Saturday. Can't find how many games Cordero Howard was active for last season, perhaps he's practice squad eligible.
I'm always curious who the scouts are, or if it's the same scout, on those articles. It always comes off as whoever is saying it has an ax to grind.
Kirlew is going to get cut, not sure that was a worthwhile dig.
I would argue that Jones was given the #2 spot by default, and Evans was traded with Easley's development in mind. Right now he seems like the guy who will make a bunch of plays, but aggrivate you with drops.
Urbik had 1 bad play in a preseason game and is being treated unfairly in my opinion. He's looked solid in two games since and is only 26 and still developing as a player. While I would like them to bring in some depth for the oline, I think the starters look to be fine and wouldn't want to impede a guy with potential like Urbik by benching him for an injured 32 year old.
