  1. In terms of market the $8M seems about right, however I'm not sure how they factor in renegotiating the contract early and upping his minimum salary for this year before they have to.

  3. You're thinking of Darius Butler. Meriweather signed with Chicago.
  4. Yeah, he did during camp, it was a major factor in the whole "not starting during the Jags preseason game" fiasco.
  5. He signed a contract extension prior to the 2009 season, hard to consider him underpaid for 2009 & 2010 when he was on a fresh contract that had been renewed before the prior one was complete. I agree with this also.
  6. As does Fred Jackson, the first time.
  7. Really good, it's got a little under 2 years left on it.
  8. "Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth."
  9. Half full is generous. Also I went in gate one and they didn't even do the pat down on my knees/ankles.
  10. Was surprised how few cars were parked in lots 2 & 3, if you can get everyone going in at the same time might be the way to go. ECC lot also changed and didn't open until 9 for some reason, as with everyone else was on side of road for awhile waiting. Will prob shoot to get there around 930 next week.
  11. from rotoworld:
  12. FU Time Warner
  13. Thanks for the analysis, one critique. Dumervil was hurt on the 4th play of the game and barely played throughout the remainder of the game. This obviously says nothing about how Veldheer played other than it shouldn't be boasted that he shut down Dumervil last week.
  14. But it was on the next defensive play that Berry was in for. Johnson blocked Berry, he went off with a knee injury but tried to play on it, it ended up being a torn ACL. The whole knee gave out on his first play back in. Johnson tore Berry's ACL. He's, with no reason to, apologized for it. I don't understand what the big deal is that he is the one who did it?
  15. Did you watch the game? Other than 1 carry that went for 22 yards Charles was bottled up the entire game. For fairness' sake McCluster also had 1 big run that went for 23 yards. But as a team they certainly had problems.
  16. @JoeB_WGR Joe Buscaglia Darrius Heyward-Bey hurt his knee today at practice and was limited. If he can't go, that leaves #Raiders with Nick Miller, Chaz Schilens, Denarius Moore and Derek Hagan at WR
  17. Huff and Chris Johnson are both injured as well. Their secondary is banged up.
  18. He wasn't released, he was traded for a 1st round pick, and the Pats were still playing the 34 at the time.
  19. The closer a player is to free agency the more likely they are to just wait to hit the open market. When in the open market the more likely they are to not resign or get a ridiculous offer not worth matching (Poz). So doing it now makes it more likely to retain the player and get him at a better price.
  20. No I'm not joking, Thigpen signed as the backup this past offseason for almost $4M per season. Fitz right now is making over $3M, you want to pay him less than he was previously making and less than his backup? Who are Fitz's comparables and what do they make? Kyle Orton received a contract extension last season that bumped his pay to approx $8M, Fitz puts up better numbers than him. Cassell signed 6 years $63M two years ago. Fitz puts up better numbers than he does also. A broken down Matt Hasselbeck signed 3 years $20M this past offseason. It's a QB driven league and those guys get paid.
  21. Wonder what kind of cash we're talking? $9M-10M range per year is my guess.
  22. Agree with you on Raiders beating Chiefs twice last year and are probably a better team than the Chiefs. Disagree on Boss being a better receiving threat than Miller, but that's without seeing much of Miller and more of Boss watching the regional NFC game. Thanks for the Raiders discussion going into the week, any word on their other injuries (Jacoby Ford, Richard Seymour, Darren McFadden)? Thanks.
  23. No, but it was reported and argued just a few weeks ago that it was happening, continuing the "Summer of Bad Internet Bills Info."
