Does Chan Have any Job "security" After Next Year...
CBD replied to BillsNeedaQBin2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say yes, as long as there's improvement made - meaning if they have 8-10 wins but miss the playoffs I'd guess he'd be back. -
From what you've explained the folks with press passes are going outside of the stadium fences into the parking lots to smoke. I could see being upset that they can smoke and you can't, but the loophole is that they have press passes and are permitted re-entry and you are not with your ticket. It's not like the rules are different for them than you with regards to smoking, just with regards to re-entry.

That she was going on road trips to enjoy games instead of viewing them at the Ralph. If she's not going to games at the Ralph because she can't smoke it wouldn't make sense to drive to other stadiums that have the same policies. I made this statement under the impression that the Bills made it a smoke free facility due to an NFL mandate, apparently this is incorrect. However according to this: http://www.no-smoke.org/pdf/smokingpoliciesNFLstadiums.pdf it's far more than just the Bills, Bears and Packers as Kim claims. I'd also add that the new Bills policy has actually made it worse. Previously smokers would leave and smoke in the smoking areas, instead they now smoke at their seats hiding it from security. So now I have to smell it.
-
It's a league wide ban, don't expect to be able to smoke on any of your road trips either. It is sad that you're giving the tickets up, and that you let smoking control your life so much, also that you joined a Bills message board and your first post is a complaint about smoking not being permitted at the stadium.

Bills compensatory draft picks in 2012
CBD replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has nothing to do with the round the players were drafted, but instead more to do with their salary. The Bills also signed Tyler Thigpen & Brad Smith who will offset most or all of the losses from Whitner and Poz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Draft#Compensatory_picks They'll probably end up with a 7th rounder because Poz signed for so much. -
And with the 2012 selection the Buffalo Bills Selet....

5th or 6th depending on what the conditions were. -
1. Calvin Johnson 2. Larry Fitzgerald 3. Andre Johnson 4. Wes Welker 5. Roddy White 6. Vincent Jackson 7. Greg Jennings 8. Marques Colston 9. Mike Wallace 10. Dwayne Bowe 11. AJ Green 12. Anquan Boldin
-
Fitzgerald 2008 - 12 TDs Fitzgerald 2009 - 13 TDs Fitzgerald has 5 seasons with 90 or more catches, Stevie has none. Didn't say they shouldn't retain Stevie, just that there are more than 10 WRs better than him in the league. Including Larry Fitzgerald by a long shot.

The guy from the Zelda video games? 1. Calvin Johnson 2. Larry Fitzgerald 3. Andre Johnson 4. Wes Welker 5. Roddy White 6. Vincent Jackson 7. Greg Jennings 8. Marques Colston 9. Mike Wallace 10. Dwayne Bowe 11. AJ Green 12. Anquan Boldin . . .

In a scenario where they draft an LT with their #1 pick I think Bell is out the door.

Classes hadn't even started for his freshman year, hard to really hold it against him: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1695597/riley-reiff Can he? Isn't he a true sophomore?
-
I like it, get a franchise LT. Hairston can continue to develop as a backup for both LT and RT and compete with & push Pears for the starting RT job.

When did Nix ever say that?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/ It's 99% for next year as it was this year, however it's league wide and on a cash basis, not on a team by team basis.
-
I recall the article and the ensuing argument regarding it. It's written to suggest that they went behind Nix's back and made the trade without Nix's consent. When reality could be otherwise, there was alot of gray area on the report. Nix very well could have decided to trade Evans (it wasn't saving that much money), Gailey's comments regarding Evans tended to lean that way, and they had Overdorf work the deal. Here's the thread from it: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/133967-jerry-sullivan-column/

In the case of Williams they were against the cap and had to choose between Schobel, Williams & Jonas Jennings. They were able to work a deal with Schobel, keeping him above the aging Williams and often injured Jennings. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=1877220

I don't think the responsibilities of a 4-3 DT and a 3-4 DE are all that different, and feel that Dareus is capable at playing either at a high level. Maybe even better suited as a 2 gap player that the 34 allows him. Williams not so much, but there isn't anything that says he can't be a one gap player in a 34. He also had a fairly successful season playing in the 34 last year.
-
I think for a 34 they have 3 Dlinemen and 2 ILBs, their main need is at both OLB spots. Need 2, maybe 3 players (Depending on your opinion of Edwards/Carrington/Troup). I think for a 43 they have 2 Dlinemen (regardless of Kelsay's play he's getting old and will need a replacement soon) and 1 MLB (Barnett) and no OLBs. Likely need 4 players. Therefore I think they're closer to being at least average at all 7 "front 7" spots in a 34. I don't know what his responsibilities are, but the defense has been terrible, and he has a hand in it. I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to give him more responsilibity and wouldn't mind if he's also replaced.

Gotta love this guy's name as a Buffalo Bill

One knock on Mercilus will be that he's only had one year as a starter, this past season, at a pretty weak football program. -
Except for that not being true. Troup had no back injury/issues during his college career or leading up to the draft. Troup's issues have all been after becoming a pro. Unfortunately they can't see into the future. Search for a poor medical evaluation on Troup leading up to the draft, it doesn't exist. Wouldn't he have missed a game at some point during his college career? Here's an example of a write up on Troup: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/historical/1621669 If he had such chronic injuries wouldn't it be mentioned? It certainly is for Gronkowski: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/historical/1244303
