  1. You took the quote out of context and didn't provide a link to support your argument. The remark was in reference to their play calling, run vs pass. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Bills-1st-half-figures-reveal-identity/f6ca14c9-300a-4c26-977a-c7d5182d59d8
  2. Yeah, I changed it about 30 seconds after I typed it, you caught me before the edit. Regardless of the number I think it means they can't afford him using that method, nor do I think he'd have any interest in coming to Buffalo.
  3. Buddy said they'd spend to the cap, on a cash to the cap basis.
  4. Counting rosters from this past season I'd say Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Indy (Wayne?), Jacksonville, Minnesota, Oakland, Philly (desean?), San Fran, Seattle, St Louis, Tampa bay, Tennessee and Washington don't have WRs better on their roster. Some others are arguable (miami,NYJ among others). Which is why he's probably as good as gone.
  5. This argument only makes sense if all the number 1s make the same. And my argument is that he'd be a "number1" on probably 10-15 teams. My point is that there's a difference between a "number 1" WR and an elite WR. As you said, common sense tells me that. That's not to say they couldn't do better, but they can certainly do worse.
  6. Yahoo's running an article on it: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/lee-evans-lets-super-bowl-berth-fall-hands-001505059.html
  7. Dareus was a junior
  8. There are 32 teams in the league, so makes sense that there'd be 32 #1 wide receivers. I think Stevie is a top 32 WR in the NFL. He's not elite, but good and bordering on great.

  10. No, that's the "cash to the cap" basis that the Bills use. It depends on the basis that the cap space is determined by. The Bills along with the majority of the teams in the league use the cash to the cap basis. My assumption is the lists that come out amortize the bonuses over the entire contract.
  11. Definately doesn't fit the 3 or 4 year starter. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1689559/whitney-mercilus

  13. Nix said they'd spend to the cap, but he later corrected that he meant cash to the cap.
  14. I agree they should be more concerned with production, but if you're shelling out big bucks for a player I would think you'd want that player to fit your teams philosophy. Their defense was 28th against the run, they could use a guy who can help them in both facets. I also don't think they're going 43, and am not sure if Mathis could play 34 OLB when they're not in nickel. I wonder if that being an unknown makes it not worth their while to find out? I don't have a second source, that's the only site I've found that lists out any type of details for the players contracts.
  15. I know it's a Bills board but, they've gotten their asses handed to them the past two nights with TJ Brennan as the only player that wasn't on their opening day roster. It's way more than just injuries right now, they flat out suck.
  16. Here's the contract info on Merriman: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3171/player?r=1 Also, Mathis doesn't strike me as the type of player Nix and Co look for. They often preach size etc, and at 6'2" 245# playing DE Mathis doesn't have it. I'm still not convinced they're going to be running a 4-3. Speculation by PFW.
  17. I've no interest in Mercilus, he's a one year wonder and that scares me away from taking him as a top ten player. Everything I've read has Reiff as the better athlete between he and Martin and therefore the more likely to play LT in the NFL.
  18. If he's the guy they want then why wouldn't they ensure they get him by picking him at ten? If the Bills feel like the guy they want will be there later in the draft then why is he the guy they want?
  19. who's we?
  20. I assume they'll sign 3 or 4 guys like they have the past two years. Likely a week or so into free agency well after many have denounced fanhood for their lack of activity.
  21. Harris signed a 4 year extension with NY last offseason.
  22. He played in the preseason, it was well known because he was getting his reps during the 3rd and 4th quarter of preseason games and playing poorly.
